traveling with milk

Hi there - does anyone have any experience traveling internationally with milk?  i have flown domestically with no problems, but i need to travel to Europe in a few weeks and one of my co-workers told me she was not allowed to carry on her milk on 2 occasions in Europe and had to check her cooler.  I am nervous about this.  Do i need a special cooler?  should i pack my cooler inside of a suitcase?  anyone have any tips?

I've only traveled with a baby and milk. They'll let milk through if there's a baby present. Otherwise, you may need to put it in checked luggage. I'd ask the airline about current security rules.

A Styrofoam or hard cooler with frozen gel packs should work and I'd freeze your milk as well. Your hotel would likely let you use their freezer for storage while you're staying there if you put it in a labeled box or bag. If you aren't flying direct, you'll need to get and recheck your bags through security in the US, and I'd get some zip local bags of ice from a restaurant for that leg to keep things cold.
