Low-key weekend here. Friday night we went to a free movie at the community center. They were showing Finding Dory. DS (3.5) enjoyed it. DD (2) still won't watch TV. She was up running around or climbing on my husband the entire time. Maybe I'll just send DS and DH next time.
DS is always asking to go somewhere or to play outside. I think he has cabin fever. For something different to do this winter inside, Santa brought them kinetic sand. They played with it for the first time yesterday and loved it. I personally like it better than play doh.
adouces06 - The stomach bug is raging through households like crazy, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it is. I hope you're better soon and nobody else gets it!
I don't remember ever getting the stomach bug as a kid, but my kids (and then usually me) get it every year. What's the deal?
I could not sleep last night. I woke up at 2am and couldn't fall back asleep. I finally felt like I was about to around 4:30 and then DS woke up and thought it was playtime. I have so many things I want to get done today around the house, but I have a feeling I'm going to be dragging ass and not getting much done. Here he is at around 5am after I gave up trying to get him to go back to sleep.
And look who tried carrots last night and is a big fan!
For those that use them, how many times a night do you put the pacifier back in? I feel like I'm doing it way too often in a desperate attempt for sleep, but am then out of bed what feels like a million times a night.

O won't take a pacifier but lately I feel the same way about her comfort nursing. Towards morning is like every half hour...

adouces06, I hope you feel better soon and that the kids don't get it. Stomach bugs are the worst.
jwinct, it's so hard to be mad at them for waking us up when they're that cute. Looks like he really enjoyed those carrots!
G woke up at 3:30 to eat. By the time I got back to sleep, MH's alarm was going off for him to go to work. Then N woke up at 6 for the day. So tired. I will be stopping at Dunkin for iced tea before we leave town. Hopefully both boys will sleep on the way up. My mom's surprise retirement party is at 2, so we need to be on the road no later than 11:30. I have a bag packed for the three of us and a grocery list made for MH to shop tomorrow. I am surprisingly calm considering I've never taken them on this length of trip alone.

We're going to church today and then have our nephew's birthday party at the park. I want to finally take down the Christmas stuff tonight or tomorrow.
I'm at a baby shower with just LO. I don't know many people so I'm just enjoying my thoughts and baby snuggles. adouces06 hope you feel better soon! smallpotato safe travels!
It's been a lazy day here. I didn't even shower until 10ish. The boys miraculously went down for a nap at the same time, but about a half hour or so in, our doorbell rang. This young high school looking boy that we always see running was standing on our porch with a dog. Not ours. It had been following him for quite awhile and he didn't want it to get hit. It had tags with a phone number, but he had no phone. I called the number and left a message and then offered to walk the dog back to where the kid said he ran out at, since we have a dog leash. The owner finally called me back when I was literal feet from their house. She came and picked the dog up and then offered to drive me back home. It's nice and sunny here today and I really wouldn't have minded walking, but she was insistent since I brought their dog back. I really hope someone else would have done the same if my dog took off. I couldn't imagine just letting it wander so far from home and risk getting hit by a car. Hopefully I bought myself some good karma.
Nothing else planned. H is going to grill some pork loins later. H and the oldest are outside and I'm warming up indoors with the baby.

My mom was definitely surprised by the party. She walked in, saw me holding G, and asked where I came from. It was a great afternoon, and both boys were so well behaved. N gave all of my mom's friends hugs even though he had only met a few of them before. It was hilarious.
DS1 was in bed by 7:30, with DS2 following a little after 8. H and I climbed into bed a little before 10, only to have DS2 start wailing 20 minutes later. He's never woken up screaming, he always grunts and whines, so we both came in. DH settled in to feed him again and I went back to bed, only to hear a loud thud-thud and DS1 started wailing. He fell out of bed for the first time in the 2 years he's been in a rail-less bed. Got him settled in and DH came out of DS2's room saying he passed without really eating. We both climbed back into bed and DS2 started walking again. I'm up trying to feed him now, but he's certainly not being very enthusiastic about eating. Not sure what his problem is.
