G is being such a trooper about this cold, smiling and playing in between the coughs and sneezes.
We decided to take a break from solids until the cold is gone so we can distinguish sick symptoms vs allergic reactions. I'm sad, we were going to try oatmeal today!
DS wanted nothing to do with solids while he was sick. I hope G feels better!
I'm worried that M is getting sick too. He's acting fine but not eating a lot, and yesterday he refused sweet potatoes even though he loved them the first few times. I bet it's an early symptom. Which also makes me wonder if G actually didn't like the sweet potatoes, or if she was just coming down with her cold and not interested in solids.
Can I just say how much I appreciate all the ladies on this board. No drama, no insults, mean spirited GIFs or other out downs. I wish other boards could follow our example.
What other boards are doing this?
A few mom's from my O12 groups couldn't stand their next BMB I got lucky twice! So I'm just gonna stop having babies now...

Hey everyone. I haven't been around too much lately. So E is 6 months tomorrow and that is frigen insane!! He's a cutie pie for sure. Not sitting up on his own yet and definitely not attempting to stand at all either but LOVES jumping like a madman in the bouncer. We have no teeth and not very many signs of teething, just the usual drooliness. We've done a few foods like sweet potatoes and frozen blueberries in the mesh bag. Still 100% breastmilk so I hit my goal of 6 months!
He is still pretty terrible at sleeping...some people talk about the 4 month regression, well he has always slept like that since day one. On a good night he's up every 2.5 hours and on a bad night he's up every 45 minutes. I've never gotten a period of longer and after 6 months being the sole wake-up parent I am exhausted to the max. But I try to just let it be and not stress about it because it will happen in his own time and there's nothing I can really do about it.
H and I are finally past the bickering stage. Those first few months were terrible but the past month we've been fine. Daycare is going well, except the little fuckers getting him sick all the time. We've had cold, RSV, ear infection. Ugh. Ok well, I hope all of you guys are doing great and enjoying your little loves!!
spicysalmonroll I really feel for you because your sleep situation describes exactly how we were, and it kept getting worse. I don't know how you feel about sleep training, but maybe it could get you a little relief. It is so hard to push through life being constantly tired.
Green mucousy poop: result of the cold, or a separate issue going on?
Maybe the cold. Have you fed any green foods? Or have you been eating a lot of green foods? With ds1 he would have greenish poop if I ate a lot of salads. Weirdest thing ever.

annbuhdan thanks! Yea I was really trying to avoid sleep training or crying it out at all but we kind of decided it has to be done. I work full time and physically can't keep going like this. Ive had a head cold for weeks that isn't healing. I'm still going to feed/nurse every 3 hours at night but if it hasn't been 3 hours I'm not going to get up. Last night was the first attempt and wasn't too terrible, he did have a 15 min crying stretch middle of the night but hopefully it helps...

I'm still pretty much feeding every 3 hours too, but it honestly feels heavenly compared to what it was! Good luck! (Side note: We started less than a week ago, and if I mention being tired my H is all surprised like, "I thought you were getting better sleep though?!" Mmm ok, sure I'm all set now, forget the last 6 months AND pregnancy. Lol!)

OMG My MIL does that and it drives me crazy. If we have a "good" night (like 5-6 solid hours of sleep) and we say we're tired she's so confused, like how could we be tired if the babies slept well? UMM lady I used to consider 6 hours of sleep a bare minimum, and I haven't gotten a true 8 hour night in at least 9 months (because 3rd tri I was way too huge and uncomfortable to sleep).

People asking if she's sleeping well makes me ragey. It's been newborn right into the 4 month sleep regression at around 3.5 months and then teething started. DON'T ask me "baby sleeping good?" while nodding and smiling. I will want to punch you. It's a great night if there's a 4 hour stretch, but she eats 4-6 times between 8 PM and 8 AM.
But hey peeps! Hi! Sorry for being so absent. I said she was teething at 4 months and I was freaking right. she's got 3 teeth that cut through on Christmas morning and two more trying to get out. (I forgot how much piranha teeth hurt).
She's super wiggly, LOVES to lift her back and torso off the ground by bending her knees. She does a little back scoot across the floor that's hilarious and cute. She started rolling back to belly consistently last week.
We started oatmeal cereal a week ago and she loves it. I gave her pea puree yesterday and she was meh about it. But the slower bowels have started Poor baby hasn't pooped all week and then today she cried going and passing gas. I'm going to get pears or peaches next, I guess.
What's happening in A16? I want to catch up on all the back spam I missed but it's probably not realistic. I hope you are all doing well and really want to stay connected here (if you'll have me back).
Hugs and smooches all around. And all the damn coffee.
Ugh! I have newborn again...except nothing works. Tried co sleeping..nope Swing..nope Tylenol..nope Feeding..nope
So my current plan is if he's going to cry while being held he can cry in swing. I'd try crib but he's in swing so not changing locations again. Thank god im off tomorrow. We go for weight check so will ask them to check his ears since he does have congestion and a cough.

Oh no, sounds rough! I hope your night improves!
AFM, I most definitely caught G's cold, and M woke up coughing so I'm pretty sure he has it too. And I am the biggest wimp about colds ever (like when you all complain about your husband's and their man colds... I might be worse). But I am determined to be at least as tough as my daughter has been hahahaha.
meagpt22 we're going through the same thing here. I'm going to die. I cried at 1am. This whole crib transition (from the freaking pack and play it's like the same thing kid go the fuck the sleep) combined with him now being able to roll over so quickly is killing me.
Remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned that I had been nursing him to sleep but he was such a good sleeper so it worked for us. I take that back. He's killing me.

Oh I jinxed it to when I said to my other BMB that I shouldn't be tired bc my kids sleep well. They like to prove us wrong at an early age. bocaburger hope you feel better.
Baby boy cut a tooth the other day, and they are also still both stuffy.
bocaburger, my friend said her LO always caught a cold when he got a tooth. Maybe that's it. But just think now that you got it, you get to give them good antibodies from BF. The one thing I am sad about BF not working for me.
We had our check up on monday. Baby boy is almost 19 lbs, baby girl almost 14. Baby boy is almost at our weight limit for the cots for our stroller. I wanted to wait to use the seats for when they can actually sit. Grrr.

Guys at what age would you let your LO sleep with a muslin blanket. We've got a few of those. After i laid him down at 6 (wake up number 5) I handed him his blanket and he grabbed it and went right to sleep. Could be a coincidence, I'm sure it is. But since it's thin, is it safe?
meagpt22, I was telling my boss how this kid is an amazing sleeper too. I was totally asking for it huh?
Sending hugs and sleepy dust your way.
I would probably let him have it, to be honest. If you put a blanket over his head while he's awake, will he yank it off? Mine does, so I would be ok with a thin blanket. Especially if it's a magical soother!

Sorry, meant to quote your other post!!
He will! Maybe I'll try that tonight. Or DH will. He emailed me to tell me that as soon as he gets home I get to go to bed. I can't wait.
Trumpocalypse has arrived. Who else will be glued to the TV all day?
Not me! Don't want to help ratings in any way. I'm avoiding it! Today I'm going to make signs and plan our logistics for tomorrow's march.
I totally understand that and I know many people who think the same. For me, I have a history of burying my head in the sand ostrich-style when I'm upset with the news. If nothing else, this election taught me how much the ability to do that demonstrates my privilege. I am determined to change that habit, to sit with my discomfort, and to be as informed as possible about current events. I believe that for me, that means watching the event and hearing what he says.
Trumpocalypse has arrived. Who else will be glued to the TV all day?
I will be watching out of morbid curiosity to see what he has to say.
As much as I want him to fail miserably at this, that also means failure for our country. So by that reasoning only, I hope I eat my words and he is successful.

This is us.
Plus I want my kids to understand America's legacy of the peaceful transfer of power. For some reason an inauguration is my first memory and I remember being so nervous it would cause a war, then so happy it did not.
