You're sweet to ask, thank you. I'm ok, just completely exhausted and I feel like my brain is on vacation (hopefully not permanently!).
Also, the next couple months will be the single most important time of H's career, since he will have hopefully 10-20 interviews (including hopefully 4-6 intense weekend-long callback interviews that require significant prep). These interviews will determine the direction of his career moving forward + where we are going to live for the next 5ish years. So he is going to be pretty overwhelmed & unavailable and will need extra support from me. To go into this at my current peak of exhaustion is really freaking me out.
But to end on a positive note, my kids are super cute and woke up full of smiles. So we'll be ok.
Also, a question: G woke up with a cough. She is perfectly cheerful and having no trouble breathing. Is there anything I can do to help her feel better? When do I call the doctor vs just letting it run its course?
Oh wow, that sounds intense! Good luck to your h and to you!
Do you have a humidifier? I would run that in the room where she sleeps. That will help. As long as it just sounds like a regular cold cough, I wouldn't worry.

bocaburger I second the humidifier. DD had a cough last week and that seemed to help. Hers was more from post nasal drip, so I also did my best to keep her nose cleaned out (which she hates), but that did seem to help the coughing frequency.
Me (30) MH (32) Dx: MFI (low all the things) M. 10/11. TTC Since 01/14 IUI#1-3(Letrozole + Trigger) = BFN Second Opinion. Changed RE's. IVF 09/15 Long Lupron 12R/9M/8F, Transferred 1=BFN. 4 frosties. FET #1 12/15 Transferred 1 (3 still on ice)
My kid is on cold number ...4? Haha. Last night, she was coughing so much from mucus that she would gag and then puke. While sleeping. Amazing.
Anyway, boca - humidifier! Watch for a fever or a change to a barky/seal-like cough. Definitely call for a seal cough (croup) or a fever that doesn't respond to meds/go away after a day or two. If there's more congestion, saline spray and bulb to clear the nasal passages. Babies with colds may take longer to eat, so give 'em time.
We don't have a humidifier (or room for one) but it does get pretty dry in our apartment. Would running the shower help so she can breathe in the steam?

Definitely! We do that, too. Sit in the bathroom while it gets steamy.

Good morning! Ds1 is home from preschool today. He has a cold/cough and had a fever last night. Someone has been sick in this house for the last month!
I second (third?) the humidifier or running the shower for steam - we've been switching a humidifier back and forth between the boys rooms depending on who needs it.
I'm so tired. We had to do an emergency hotfix to the system last night. We were supposed to start testing at 6:45, maybe for an hour. We didn't start until after 8 and ran into some major issues. Finished at 11:30 then the baby and the crib- not friends.
I got the call from the surgical scheduler today. Baby is going in on Feb 13th. Be prepared to listen to me cry all that weekend and morning guys
Today is one of those days that's making me congratulate myself for every hour that passes. The baby is so so cranky. I keep looking for top teeth coming through, but nothing yet!

My sister is due in March and ordering her pump soon. She's choosing between the ameda purely yours ultra and the spectra s2. I don't have either of those so looking for feedback from anyone who does!

I realllllly liked the Spectra when I was pumping.
DD's rash isn't getting better. It's not getting worse either, so maybe I'm just being impatient, it's only been 4 days. But her drool rash on her chin is complete gone so I feel like if it really was dry skin I should see a difference by now.

Anybody going to any marches this weekend? We are going to a sister March where we live. I'm nervous about taking the baby - but I feel it's so important!

I'm feeling really torn. I really want to but H has to work so I will have both babies with me. I'm worried about taking them into a big loud crowd and about having them outside for too long in the winter. But I also really feel that it's important and I want to model a life of activism.

I wanted to, instead I'll be spending the time preparing for our move next week. One of the things I want to do when we get to CA is get more involved in activism. I haven't done much volunteering since the baby and I miss it.
ETA: Now I am looking up marches and trying to decide if I can manage to go for a few hours.

dc2london , I wish I lived closer so I could protest in DC. There is a small march planned here that I am planning to attend. DH's mother will be rolling over in her grave on inauguration day. She died much too young but Im glad she didn't live to see a Trumpty Dumpty presidency.
bocaburger , I understand about wanting to make your voice heard. There are many ways to be active and to protect democracy.

Can I just say how much I appreciate all the ladies on this board. No drama, no insults, mean spirited GIFs or other out downs. I wish other boards could follow our example.

I do enjoy coming here for advice and knowing that I'll be supported and not judged (not openly at least ).

G is being such a trooper about this cold, smiling and playing in between the coughs and sneezes.
We decided to take a break from solids until the cold is gone so we can distinguish sick symptoms vs allergic reactions. I'm sad, we were going to try oatmeal today!

DS wanted nothing to do with solids while he was sick. I hope G feels better!
