Good morning ladies! I'm at the hospital in my room, all checked in, IV hooked up and ready to go. Waiting for my doctor to get here and we will be in surgery. Scheduled for 7am!

Hey ladies - sorry for the delay in the update! Baby boy and I are both here and doing good! Here's a quick rundown of how things went:
Arrived at the hospital around 515 and started getting set up. Went into the OR around 7, got the spinal, and everything got started. Had a few issues with my bp dropping during surgery requiring a few rounds of epi, but they got it back under control pretty quick! I'm SO pumped that I actually got to see baby boy coming out! There was a supply closet to my left that had glass doors and there was a perfect reflection of what was going on. So so glad that I got to watch!! DH was a champ and got some really good pictures again as well!
Baby boy was born at 7:38am weighing 8lb 8oz and 21" long.
Since delivering DD, the hospital has changed many of its policies to become "baby friendly." So after baby comes out, they let me see him then the baby nurses and DH went to the "warm" room in the OR with him to do his quick assessments, quickly cleaned and wrapped him up and then brought him back out to me. DH held him close to me while my doctor closed me up. I would've been able to hold him had I not had the shakes from the anesthesia (and epi), but it really was amazing and so calming to have him there with me. After I was done, H and baby boy came back to our room as I was behind transferred to my bed and then wheeled back into our room. No visitors were allowed in the room for at least an hour for my recovery time. During that time baby boy and I did skin to skin and again it was so so so calming. We ended up spending about 2 hours just the 3 of us and then we brought visitors back.
DD is slowly warming up to baby brother. Day 1 she wouldn't really look at him. Day 2 she helped me give him a bottle and helped me burp him.
I'm having some blood pressure issues, thankfully not as bad as with DD and hopefully won't get that bad. I'll head over to the private board for pics!

Congrats! I was worried when there were no updates. Interesting to me to compare everyone's scheduled c-section stories. I had low bp in recovery and needed epi but was fine during surgery aside from nausea.
Best wishes for a quick recovery. I think you have one of the biggest babies so far!

silvermelody I had nausea bc of the low BP during surgery. It was actually funny bc the first time I told the nurse anesthetist that I was getting nauseated she said, "I know are you feeling better yet?" And magically I was better lol - that was my first dose of epi.
Now my bp is going the other way. It's not terribly high, has gotten up to 140/90, and my OB is starting me on a low dose medicine to help control it before it has the chance to spike like it did with my daughter.
