Yay Friday!! My playdate cancelled on me so I have no idea what I'm doing today. It's going to be a warm day so maybe we will go to the park or something.
Our pedi wants us to have DS1 evaluated for early intervention due to lack of communication (he understands, he just can't relay or talk in a way we can understand) and his behavior issues. I'm not see how I feel about this..
I slept terribly and am grouchy. hoping I can have a productive day at work and that quitting time comes quickly.
I'm going to go check out infant seats this weekend....we had a chicco, which I liked, but am considering some of the gracos because this is our last little, I only like the infant seat for about 6 months and I can get a better deal. we'll see how I feel after I play with them this weekend :-) want to make good use of trading in our expired seat for the BRU event
I didnt go into work this morning. I've had sharp pains in the right side of my pelvis since Wednesday night. I made an appointment for this morning so I'm not worried all weekend about what it is, and it potentially getting worse.

Hope your day goes fast. I'm having H look on Craigslist for a free carseat we can take to trade in to BRU- would be an extra $25 off the carseat we're looking at
My OB appointment for today got rescheduled due to the doctor being ill.... which is fine by me because I had totally forgot about it this morning. Phew!
My husband is on call, and when he wakes up he can't go back to sleep because my breathing is so labored. My nose just closes shut when I am pregnant. I feel tired all the time, I bet that is why. I need to get nasal strips, even though I hate them. They dry out the skin on my nose snd make is red and raw :/
Coworker is out with the Flu. Like the flu flu. FML. I disinfected everything and we had our flu shots, so I think we will be ok, right? I am confused why she didn't get her shot. I hope her kid got her's.
She may have gotten it. The problem with the flu shot (I still get it yearly and so do DH and DS1 so this isn't anti-flu shot) is it's a guess as to which strains will be the dominant ones because the vaccine needs to be developed before flu season. Some also still get the flu after the shot, just the effects are usually milder
I did hear the quad vaccine was more effective than the three-strain one but that the quad one wasn't/isn't given as often
I've been having trouble sleeping all week. My upper/middle back hurts and I can't get comfortable and restless legs are so annoying. DH felt bad for me and told me to schedule a massage. Don't have to tell me twice 😊

Apparently I have been snoring loudly lately. This is a pregnancy thing?

The snoring thing is SO bad for me! The worst is when I wake myself up with the sound of my own snoring. It's wonderful
Yeah it is, estrogen can cause swelling in your mucous membranes, and make you stuffed up. I can breath through a tiny airway in my nose when up right, but laying down I am full on mouth breather. I deliver and magically I can breath through my nose again.
lastkiss he turned two yesterday. I'm just wondering if maybe he's being his usual self and doesn't want to talk, but when he does talk, we often can't understand nor can anyone else. He's the kind of kid that won't do something until he's sure he can do it right. Like, he wouldn't ever practice walk holding our hands. He would push a buggy no problem, but he would not let go and try on his own. One day, he just stood up and walked across the room. He was the same way with crawling... he army crawled until he one day crawled all the way across the apartment. He's just always been that way with big things. I just don't know... he also has hypothyroidism which can be a factor, but he's been on treatment for 8-9 months now..
ETA: he also is displaying signs of just having finished a leap, so I don't know if that's a factor or not (the book and app end at 18 months but they don't stop and the behaviors are the same for him)
I'll just drop a FFFC confession in here. My bff is a beach body coach and omg it's so annoying. I'm glad you take care of yourself but I don't need 600 updates a day on it. She's already slender to begin with and lost all of her baby weight and then some so I guess my confession is that I roll my eyes when I get to see her bare belly pics. Meanwhile I have sagging belly skin and never would qualify as slender....it just must be nice.
Ok, back to my promise to myself to find some good in today!

Add me to the snoring club. I have sinus issues anyway and have a really sporadic tiny snore normally (according to MH) but I have woken myself up snoring since getting pregnant this time. MH says he doesn't notice it much but I think he might just be trying to be nice. Of course he can't really say anything because he sleeps with a CPAP because his snoring is so incredibly awful without it.

MH is picking up the bed for the guest room today that our neighbor is selling. He was hesitant to commit to buying the bed so I told him that if he wants to come up with the extra $300 to buy it brand new and put it together by himself, then that was his choice. He came around very quickly after that. We're going to have to put the bed in the garage for awhile while we make space for it in the new guest room/office so that means my car will lose it's space in the garage, which is a bummer.
I snore when pregnant too, but I consider it payback for H's snoring.
Doctor had no major concerns, waiting for results to check for UTI, and said if it's not that, it could be constipation, kidney stones or symptom of an infection I was diagnosed with at my last visit and am taking antibiotics for. I didn't have any symptoms of the infection, so if I've had it for a while it may be causing the pelvic pain. Glad it isn't anything big to worry about, hopefully the pain subsides soon.
So I scheduled a prenatal massage at a local spa and they said I need to bring a dr note. Is that common? I have a dr appt next week so not an inconvenience but I wasn't expecting it
Just now getting around to my New Years resolutions and one is to post more consistently. Starting today! We took a trip to the park this morning since it's the first day it hasn't rained this week. Going to get a hair cut in a bit and I can't decide what to tell her to do.
hpnegirl my mom is a speech therapist and always says the earlier the better as far as determining if intervention is needed. I know it must be a tough decision...I was considering taking DD at 18 mos because she wasn't saying anything except mama, dada and this. Our dr told us to wait and my mom sent me the book/DVD "It Takes Two to Talk", which we started using right away. It has really helped DD!
Got my first massage of this pregnancy this morning! I forgot that prenatal massages are pretty much just an unbeatable experience. I feel soooo much better!
I'm going to meet with a new OB today. It's not really an appt, just a chat to see if we click. I REALLY am unhappy about being pushed towards VBAC and breastfeeding by my other practice. I went through the whole 9 yards of debating, researching, and deciding with my first pregnancy. I know what I want and what will work for me based on my medical history. I really need an OB that will support that, not rehash old arguments. I'm not a child and don't need to be lectured on the merits of those approaches. It's really disheartening to think of changing doctors at this point but I think it will be even worse to go the whole process with someone who second-guesses my decisions.

I think it depends how far along you are. Massage Envy made me bring a note because I was less than 20 weeks the first time, but the place I went today didn't ask for one.

I never got one. I swore my therapist to secrecy when I got one at 11 weeks, actually. She just made sure to avoid trigger points
hpnegirl yes it really helped DD! We've been using it since late Nov and she went from 3 clear words + a little babbling to about 25 clear words + constant babbling. She also uses a lot more inflection and you can hear syntax in her babbling, like she's mimicking our sentence structure. It's an expensive set but was worth it. This is the set: www.hanen.org/Guidebooks---DVDs/Parents/It-Takes-Two-to-Talk.aspx. They have sample chapters but IMO they don't give a good indicator of all the book offers.
