Who's got 'em? I don't have anything today. DC is closed so I'm home with DD and DH. We're going to the aquarium this morning! Also it's 3 degrees outside! WTF is that?!

I'm sick, DS is sick and DH is sick. I'm working today while DH and DS are home. It's supposed to start snowing this afternoon and we're getting a bazillion inches. Whaaaaahhhhhhhh.
We're supposed to get a few inches of snow later tonight and schools/daycares are already closing early today. In the middle of one of my busiest weeks of the year. FML. I'm sure daycare will be closed tomorrow too if we get even a drop of anything frozen. Get it together, NC, it's not going to be that fucking bad.
I'm not mad about anything in particular involving me. I'm mad at the show Gotham, though. Anyone watch it?
DC is closed today, I don't remember them closing for President's Day last year and my job stopped giving us this day off. So my mom took the day off to take DD and do things with her, so I'm enormously grateful for that. I'm irked we no longer have this day off but I guess I'd rather have the extra day off in December than worry about today.

And I just got a snarky text from H about how DD2's car seat must be in my car because neither he nor nanny can find it. It is in the *string of profanity here* nursery. Jesus. Open your eyes.

After some serious persuasion, I've convinced my brother that it would be totally worth the $5,000/year in savings to move our office out to our grandmother's house (she passed away last year, we own the house, brother lives next door, we currently have it listed to sell) after much resistance and it being on the market for 7 months with 2 really shitty offers. 9:15 last night our realtor texted and said he has an offer. It better be a good one. None of this offering HALF bull shit like the last person.

Our street doesn't get weather-treated... no plowing, so salt, no pre-treatment. This morning, my car was stuck because the tires were in ice that was about 2 inches deep. So, to get out of the ice without hitting the surrounding cars (parallel parking on a narrow street) was a terrifying pain in the ass.
I am absolutely dreading whatever is supposed to be dumped on the mid-Atlantic region this afternoon/evening.

1) We're all sick. 2) Everyone is off but me, (which, I'm making a vent but actually makes me feel sorry for DH, no one at the office wants to watch me go potty). 3) Each of the kids has a medical deal they need to do today. DD already went to PT, and I'm hoping DH takes DS to his xray, which is an outpatient, walk-in deal. But DH was complaining about having to do all this on his "day off" so he might not. Dude. When else can we do it?

I'm sick, DD is sick, DH is sick. Daycare germs are going to be the death of me. Good news though, I got my VPN issues figured out, and I'm working from home comfortably on my couch buried in warm blankets, and DH is off today, so he's taking care of DD while I recuperate and work.
I'm sorry to all of you dealing with massive snow. I will gladly take some here. We are having a false spring meaning disaster to come when winter decides to return. All the fruit trees are going to bloom and then freeze
DH got the weekend to himself. Between me having DD with me at work on Saturday and us girls were at my parents yesterday to celebrate my b-day early. H mowed the grass. That was it. Rest of the weekend who knows what he did but it wasn't golf and it wasn't house work. I really think he wasted a great sunny warm weekend watching TV. I'm tempted to "break" the TV!
Adding to the sickness posts... DD2 woke up yesterday with a 104 fever. We had to put her in a bath to get her fever down. Today she's fine, but has a rash all over her belly. Looks like Roseola.
We got another 18 in of snow yesterday. The snow drifts in our backyard are up to my shoulders (i'm 5'6"). DH spent all day Saturday shoveling the roof off for the 2nd time - over 6 feet of snow up there. I like a little snow. A little. This is crazy.
I'm off today but I have to go to the dentist for a filling. And it's been snowing since yesterday afternoon. But the dentist is open and DH won't let me cancel since I was supposed to get this filling back in November.

Someone broke into our car and stole gps/ipod/and a sentimental piece that I am not sure can be replaced. DD overheard DH talking to the police. She is now wandering around saying that she needs to protect our ipad so a monster doesn't come in and take it. I am now just hoping that this doesn't turn into a 'thing'. People suck. Especially because it obviously wasn't someone that really needed money, based on what they left. Grrrr.

I'm sorry. It's awful when the sucky parts of life affect kids.

Thanks. I agree, I was thankful that no one broke into our home. It could always be worse.
Were supposed to get snow and ice tonight. School will probably be cancelled and it'll be one inch at the most. I hate being cooped up inside and not being able to go out, plus Miss A is being a clingy pain in the butt.

My classes are cancelled Mon - Weds and daycare is closed today. DS and I had a fun morning going to the playground and makeup shopping. I had planned to catch up on grading while watching TV during his nap this afternoon, but got surprised by a stroller nap at the mall. Instead, DS is catching up on Daniel Tiger and I am probing
Today's my Monday, so I feel justified in venting.
1. Lazy credit analyst is going to be late today. She has to "drop someone off in Palo Alto.." "Someone" is her deadbeat boyfriend who has a DUI and a suspended license. "Someone" should take the damned train.
2. Analyst that I like is being lazy.
3. I put my fitbit through the washing machine. At this point, I'd upgrade to a watch one, but it was a gift from my running partner, so I don't want her to know I ruined it. I will be purchasing the same one again. FUN!

k3am - Try calling FitBit customer service. I left mine unused in a drawer for about a year. When I got it back out it wouldn't take a charge. I called and they replaced it no problem (despite it being well out of warranty). The entire customer service experience was so nice I'm a fan of theirs for life. Even if it doesn't work out, a phone call might save you $100. Good Luck!
