I'm kind of worried because it seems like my boobs have adjusted/regulated much faster than you all and from my experience last time. After 2.5 weeks, I don't really leak anymore. Two nights in a row of two 3 hours stretches and I haven't even leaked in MOTN or the am.
BF makes me so paranoid. Time to use the baby scale we have!
I'm in the same boat. But when I pump to replace a feeding, I'm getting 5-6 oz so I'm not too worried.
True. I got 4 oz when I pumped last night and DD gained 10oz in 6 days, so there must be milk in there. Still paranoid though, lol. It never ends!
MissDemeanor I battled major over supply with DS1 - I'd try block feeding to start and would avoid the pump if possible. It helped a bit if I nursed one side for a period of time before using the other side - maybe start with 2 feedings per side?
Another frustrating day over here. She just hasn't seemed happy or satisfied all day. Been nursing every 1-2 hrs, she's barely napped and when she nurses she is ending up pulling off after 4-5 mins at some sessions. Gave H an ounce in a bottle and she drank it but kinda fussed during. Went to give her another ounce and she doesn't want it. So I don't know what her issue is, guess I just have to suffer through the frustration??

This was my today too! I got an alert yesterday from the wonder week app that LO is starting to go through his first leap. I'm putting it down to that. Mostly because I feel better having a reason. Maybe it's the same for you too?

It has to be something and I'm trying to roll with it., I forgot I have the wonder weeks app too need to look at that. Our little ones are exactly the same age iirc, so we crazy we are going through similar things.

We were just talking about over supply and maybe donations. And today a friend of a friend posted on FB about her daughter who is sick and can only drink bm, and asking for donations. So I guess I'll work on pumping more

I always wanted to be able to do this. I may work on it, we'll see.

It's so frustrating I don't know why but for almost a week now E hasn't latched. She just kind of chews in my nipple for a minute cries and starts pushing it away. I really can't win.

Sounds like she may be starting to prefer the bottle nipple? Have you tried pumping a little before you latch her? If you've already let down, maybe it'll be more enticing for her if she doesn't have to work as hard for that initial milk to come? Just throwing out ideas. I'm sorry it's all so frustrating. ☹️

Thanks. I don't even know if I have a let down. She has always preferred the bottle but has still nurses until about a week ago. I try putting her on before I pump and after it doesn't seem to matter.
W is still so frustrated. I think he got used to the shitty latch lol. I am gonna call the LC and see if I can get an appointment set up to get some help with the latch now that the revision is done. It's gonna be a new learning process for both of us.

When C was doing this I was attributing it to nipple confusion. I started really cleaning off my nipple first, and then hand expressing some milk to spread on it and it seemed to help a lot.
Also if you have a nipple shield, an LC showed me how to bottle feed then drip some formula or BM on the nipple shield to try to trick her and switch from one to the other quickly. Also, switching breasts til she finally latched while she was getting frustrated, so she wouldn't get totally mad at the breast. All helped but it took a few days before I could get her to latch without a fit.

Thanks! I make sure the nipple is clean and usually either hand express until I get some milk or drip some formula on too. I never used a nipple shield. LC didn't say much about them. I guess venting here worked because she latched about 1 hr ago. 😄
Anyone who had a TT/LT revision done, what did you do to help retrain LO to get a good latch. We've gotten a couple good ones, but then he reverts back. I'm calling the LC tomorrow to see if I can get an appointment next week but I'd like to try in my own in the meantime. I'd like to wean off bottles and start building a work stash as soon as I can.

I'm so jealous of people who don't leak like a broken faucet. Seriously. I've soaked W so many times today and the poor kid has been all but water boarded when he randomly unlatches.

Make sure you are doing the tongue exercises.
Tease the upper lip with your nipple. Hand behind their head behind their ears. Wait for therm to open really wide, then firmly guide their head to the nipple. If you have large breasts or flat nipples you may need to use the other hand to make a 'breast sandwich". I also have to compress /dimple the nipple right above where her top lip goes.
Bring baby to breast, not breast to baby.
It may help to draw your nipples out with a pump or nipple shield so baby has a bigger target to latch on.

I used a Milkies milk saver during a MOTN feed. Caught about a half ounce. Poured it into a bottle of had brought up to bed with me. Wasn't too big of a hassle. Nursing on the opposite side now. Curious about what I'll catch on the opposite "resting" boob.

Report back! I only use mine on the first side because I figured it wouldn't catch anything after baby had emptied the boob. Curious to know if that's true.
I got almost an ounce this morning from my Milkie saver! But like judyblume14 my kid only takes one boob at a time. Despite being up forever last night she didn't want to eat so my boob was ready to let it flow.
I just had H give W a bottle of formula since I decided to try and BF this morning instead of pump and didn't have any pumped milk available. He only took an ounce which means he at least got 1-1.5 oz from the boob.
