lindsay if I could go back and buy another car I would definitely get a van instead of our SUV. I love our highlander though but when we took my mom to the airport, we had both kids in their car seats, H driving and my mom up front. I had to ride cramped in the 3rd row and there was just enough room for my moms luggage. So yeah, with extra people riding, a van would be so much more roomy. And you are going to have 3 car seats so i would definitely go for the van.
The only van I have experience is my mom's Toyota Sienna. I really liked it. It was really easy to drive even though I was used to a small car at the time. Really easy to figure out all the interior controls, and super spacious. We used it to move an entire bedroom set with twin bed and small dresser. My mom liked it so much she literally owned two of the exact same van at one point.
Thanks babylove518 and bazingaa I didn't realize vans could be cheaper than comparable suvs. H is team SUV but I'd be fine with a van, if it's easier and more spacious.
I want to say that a van would probably get a little better mpg too. And the sliding doors! So many family friendly options, I kinda want to get a van now ;-)

When I've looked at consumer reports in the past, I'm pretty sure that the Honda Odyssey was top rated, followed by the sienna. I would have no hesitation in buying the odyssey.

I have nothing to add about van vs. SUV. I have a Pilot with 3rd room no 2nd row pass through but love the Pilot. Will probably get a Acura MDX or Infiniti QX60 next. We're team no van unless we have to.

I think with only wanting two kids, that's totally doable, unless you somehow become the carpool mom for all of their friends.
I didn't use this, but I wish I had in those early days. The milkies is good to catch milk but the suction of the haakaa actually pulls some milk out. And in those first few weeks where your supply is leaking all over the place, you could easily collect 4 ounces/ day and have 30 bags of milk by the time your supply regulates and you stop leaking. I would up doing the manual pump and would just combine one or two days into 4 ounce bags. I have 15 bags of milk but I had to pump them and once your supply regulates at 4-6 weeks, it's hard to find "extra" milk that the baby isn't already drinking.

mominthemaking14 we are team no van but we aren't going to have more than two kids. If we had 3 or more we would definitely do a van. It's so much easier to get into the car to buckle kids in. I'm also jealous of the remote sliding door.

No van for us because I just hate the look of them. But we're likely done at two kids as well. After we buy the house this year (FX), the next big expense will be trading in DH car for a crossover. I'll take the new car and he'll keep mine.
Well. Baby took about 4 ounces total in the 4 hours. He was crying and refusing the last bottle but they were able to give him 1.5 ounces very hour or so.

Well it's something. I'm hopeful that he'll get into a routine and start taking more and more.

That sounds like a decent start. FX it's even better tomorrow.
