I have my 4th beta in a few short hours and the anxiety is kicking in. Up to this pont, I was pretty chill about it. I'm 5 weeks today. So, hopefully it's a nice, high beta. My last one (last Sunday) was 98.

I called my doctor's office yesterday to see about "consolidating" my upcoming appointments (they had me scheduled for 3 on different days split between 2 weeks) and I was able to move up my first ultrasound to the same day I meet with my doctor which is next Thursday! I'm so excited and a little nervous, but mostly excited, especially now that I don't have to wait 2 more weeks!
Last night was rough. I started giving in to DS2 and nursing him before 5am and now he is waking up earlier and getting so mad when I refuse to nurse him. So basically he screamed at me from 3 to 5 am, when I finally nursed him and he passed out.
It is freezing in my office! I need to start bringing tea bags. With DS I drank raspberry leaf tea pretty much daily.
I don't think it's recommended to drink raspberry tea in the first trimester. It can cause uterine contractions.
I did a lot of research on this last pregnancy because I drank a lot of hot tea. Basically there is almost no evidence that it is helpful or harmful. The quote in the article I read last time was
"There is some controversy about whether this should be used throughout pregnancy or just in the second and third trimester, so many health care providers remain cautious and only recommend using it after the first trimester."

Sounds like the type of thing I would avoid just in case. But I tend to be very risk averse about potential early delivery..... As with most things in pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood, I like to say "Good for her, not for me"

Good to know. I always thought raspberry leaf tea wasn't ok until late 3rd tri.
I've been drinking a lot of lemon ginger tea - mostly extra diluted - but the store was out of it so now will be moving on to a couple other lemon ones.

Sorry leviosa, sleep regressions like that can be tough. I did it tons of times when DS was sick or teething. I would nurse him whenever, just to get him to sleep for a bit. And all of a sudden I had created a new exhausting habit!

I'm very much a "moderation is key" type of person. A cup of coffee - Totally fine. deli-meat - sure. Raspberry leaf tea - once in a while. Totally fine. I don't think I would drink it on a daily basis but I also don't think that a cup here and there is bad.

I've got a nasty cold. . For a while yesterday evening it was feeling like strep but at least now it's back to feeling like just fierce cold. I hope it doesn't turn into anything more.
Thank goodness today turned out to be a snow (ice) day, so I can stay home without burning another sick day. But even though *everyplace* else is closed, especially inland, the university h teaches at is not and he has class today. So, have dd on my own which means not much rest. And he has one of the brakes all taken apart on his car so had to take my car (normally we carpool on the days he goes in) so I also have no vehicle which just makes me twitchy. Like, if it starts feeling like something to go to the doctor for after all, can't go.

@mattsgirl2004 that is awful! And so stupid to not just give you your results, and to be rude about it. Blah! I don't think the lab techs will here but the L&D nurses will as long as it's been put into the computer system so they can see it. Well and if they aren't having a baby boom right at the moment.
leviosa that sucks!! S3 was walking up really early for a while and it's so frustrating because you can't just make them go back to sleep. Our 3 yo will wait in his room until his light turns green even if he's awake, which is so nice.

Um, you have a light that tells your toddler when to wake up? This sounds incredible. Please tell me more.

salmon2017, now, I will likely have more sleepless nights getting him back to sleeping until 5:30. He literally screams at me and thrashes until I nurse him. That can last 2 hours sometimes. With this next baby, I think I'm going to night wean much earlier.

My 2.5 (almost 3 yo) won't make noise until I come get her. I used an Ok to wake clock to teach her to stay quiet until I came and got her. My 1 yo isn't capable of understanding the concept at his age. They share a room too so I usually go get him as soon as he wakes to keep him from waking his sister. She usually wakes anyways but I take her to go potty so she won't be calling for me as soon as I leave the room. Anyways, I will likely use the ok to wake clock with L, but probably when he is closer to 2.
