I'd probably get them out 3-4 weeks, or at least give an informal heads up if there are certain guests that you really want to attend. Weekends fill up fast!
DD has been invited to a fair number of 4th birthday parties recently and the invites arrived only 1.5-2 weeks in advance
This is why I asked. We have no family near us so it will just be friends and since moving here we have been to 4-5 birthday parties that were each 2 wks notice. I also noticed none of our friends here sent paper invites we only get invites via FB or text which I'm ok with I'm just not used to it

I don't remember the last time I got a paper invite for a kid's birthday party either, therefore I've also never sent one.
In general, I too usually get invited 2-3 weeks out. I'm more of a 3-4 weeks away kind of person. I get too excited lol.
