Fun stuff. I have been experiencing flu-like symptoms for the past couple days, so I called my doctor to see if they want to see me. Sure enough, occasional abdominal cramps + some back pain (along with the rest of me aching) gets me a trip to L&D to evaluate for preterm labor. My dad is on his way over to watch DS, then I will be headed in. I'm hoping it is just a GI bug or even a UTI, which are the nurse's alternate theories for my illness.

No contractions, baby sounds great on the Doppler, going to draw some blood and do a UA and formulate a plan from there. I believe they believe it is a virus.

Anyone else still taking unisom? I tried to stop but went right back to nausea, no appetite, gross stomach, dry heaving... I'm running low on my prescription and I'm afraid my OB is going tell me I shouldn't need it anymore....

All my labs came back fine, so it looks like it is just a virus. Nice to have confirmation. Thank you for the positive thoughts! Here's hoping for an uneventful remainder of the pregnancy.

starsandshamrocks123, I didn't need a prescription for Unisom. When I got off of it I did half doses for awhile and then stopped. Whether it actually helped or was in my head I'll never know but I feel like it helped. There are definitely some women who need to stay on it longer. When I was googling for myself I think I recall it's safe but generally try to get off of it before like 30ish weeks because it can impact breast milk coming in or something like that. If you still need it, talk with your doctor but advocate for yourself.

I understand, I don't think I've ever been so glad to have a virus! I have enlisted the help of my aunts and dad to come over and play with DS for a few hours the next few days so that I can have some extra rest time.

I've started swelling! I can indent my shin and my hands and feet feel tight a lot. It's not all the time but it's also not only in the evening after lots of standing. Ugh ugh ugh.
The constipation is still so bad some days. I dread going to the restroom. I try to wait until I am almost completely turtle necking.
Have you tried Metamucil? That has been a total game changer for me! The first weekend was rough when things were, clearing out, for lack of better words, but now things are so much better!

I am willing to try anything at this point. Thanks!

I agree with the metamucil. I take the capsules instead of making a drink, but it has made a world of difference.
Even though it's not Tuesday, but the pain was pretty bad when I first woke up. It feels like my vagina muscles are being ripped apart (not lightning crotch feeling, this is constant all day almost everyday.) An area on the right is swollen. And as much as I don't want to deal with the pain and swelling for another week I really hope it's a noticeable swelling when I visit my OB on Wed. I brought it up at my 16 week appointment but the swelling wasn't all that visible that specific day (and it wasn't hurting much that week either.) She thought it might be a hernia, I'm not thinking so.
