hi ladies! I made a thing! Abigail Fern was born at 5:24 yesterday afternoon. She is 8 pounds 5 ounces and 19 inches long. Here is my birth story:
Checked into the hospital at 7. They did one round of cytotech at 9. I was only 1 centimeter dilated.
At 1 pm, they checked me and I was 2. I started on pitocin. Contractions really ramped up.
I was struggling hard by 3:15 so DH called our doula. She arrived at 3:45. I was checked and was a 4. About 45 minutes later I was getting up to go pee and had a massive contraction and my water broke. All over my husbands leg and shoe!! I collapsed back into bed because it hurt so bad.
About 30 minutes later they checked and I was a 7. 5 minutes later I screamed I couldn't do it anymore and I wanted the epidural. They checked. I was an 8.
5 minutes later I started screaming that my body was pushing and I couldn't stop it. Literally 1 push and she flew out! No time for an epidural. 2nd degree tear. My OB did not make it in time to deliver her. The hospital OB ran in and literally dove to catch her.
But she did 2 hours of skin to skin and nursed for an hour and a half. This was a wildly different birth than Charlotte's. I'm so in love with her. 💗💗
I'ok have to post a picture later as I cannot figure out how while on mobile and on Norco.
