Appointments this week: NST tomorrow morntand then OB appt And growth check Friday afternoon. Possibly doing my csection that evening as well. Pending OR and anesthesia availbility!! (If no then scheduled for 7:15 Monday 1/30!!!) best case 3 days left and worst case 6 weeks!
Symptoms: Late last week started getting heartburn and then Monday woke up with a belly rash. OB thinks it's PUPPs rash so taking Benadryl and seeing if that helps at all. It's a small annoyance but its just another issue with this PG that I'm so ready to be done.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I've been ready for a couple weeks but OB is adamant that di-di twins shouldn't be delivered till 38 weeks to the dot. I've told her more than once ready and now am unsure if I have any energy left to deliver and actually care for twins. Just worn out plain and simple. So many mixed emotions right now...it's definitely overwhelming.
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? I honestly think it was some ora Roberts I grabbed earlier this fall when I traveled and got delayed at the airport. I did just order The Martian but haven't stout yet. My BMB had good reccomendations on it.
Appointments this week: I had a cervix check today. The tech sounded like the Kool Aid man when she saw it, saying "oh yeahhhh." It's still 4 cm. I'm off until the 6th, when I have another growth scan. Both babies are transverse now, heads on my left, feet on my right.
Symptoms: Achy hips at night, pain in my ribs (boy feet), and starting to feel more uncomfortable overall.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I like feeling movement - it's in the no longer gas stage.
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? Baby related, I'm reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins. Non-baby related, the last book I read was Before the Fall. It's suspenseful and centers on a plane crash, so if those subjects don't turn you off, I highly recommend it.
- I'm now having NSTs every Monday and Thursday until delivery -- those continue to go well. We have our last growth scan tomorrow. I'm pretty certain that like @wineandcupcakes, we'll see that Baby B is still breech, and bigger than Baby A, which means delivery by c/s. We've also preemptively scheduled the c/s for Feb. 10.
- Tired, large and swollen. I outgrew all my shoes last week. I ended up buying men's hiking boots size 10.5. Fortunately, my BP and lab work are fine, so the swelling isn't a huge concern. Just uncomfortable.
- Rant: It would maybe be possible to get somewhat caught up on work before my ML if people stopped asking me to take new projects. I have 2.5 weeks left at best, people, and at least a full quarter's worth of my own work to do.
- Because @wineandcupcakes and I seem to be living the same life now, my GTKY answer is also the same as hers.
Bahaha! Seriously. Almost same gestation, same twin situation, same CS date and we even grew out of our shoes on the same day!
Appointments this week: Had a growth scan this morning. Everything is going well. "generous swimming pools" is what I keep being told. They still change from vertex to breech to transverse and back again DURING scans. The tech today gave me the green light to be whiny about all this movement haha. A is measuring 2lbs 3oz and B is 2lbs 2oz. Both roughly one week 'ahead'.
Symptoms: Large. Just large. Back pain. Trouble sleeping. Blah blah blah you guys know. I don't know how you guys have made it to 35+ weeks. Oh also, I self diagnosed a raging heart murmur. I hope that's normal (increased blood flow right?). I'll ask my Ob about it in a couple weeks but for now it was an incidental finding and I feel fine so meh.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Finally started designing the nursery and made some purchases! We also have one crib built! So we can get one baby home (still need to buy another infant car seat) and have a place for one baby to sleep
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? I'm so bad at reading books. The last one was the forgotten girls. It was pretty good, though when I explained it to DH afterward it suddenly sounded real creepy. SaveSave
Week: 23+2 / boy triplets/ I think they're eggplants?
Appts: we had the fetal echo Monday and it went great. On Thursday I'm seeing the MFM and then Friday I'm meeting with the NICU charge nurse for a little tour. Symptoms: achy, & tired. The usual. I'm feeling a lot more pressure when I'm up on my feet so I'm keeping that to a minimum (not that I was super active anyway being on modified bed rest). Rants/raves: I've been pretty stressed because we haven't had help again. My parents just got back in town, but my mom is still recovering from surgery and can't lift either. My dad is here right now though so he's doing the lifting on the mornings that DH is working. Good timing because we didn't have help lined up for this week. Plus, paying babysitters every morning was getting expensive on top of being difficult to find help. Also, my abs are starting to rip apart (diastasis recti). It's not a good feeling. It started near my belly button and has moved up to mid-way between my belly button and rib cage. GTKY: not very exciting, the last book I read was "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads". It was helpful. I just started "Preemies the Essential Guide" it was recommended by my friend who is a NICU nurse.

@jacks605 karate chop to your OB. She sounds sadistic. I hope it ends up being sooner rather than later. @wineandcupcakes you're almost there too. I feel you on the food frustration being GF is hard enough without other restrictions and feeling crappy.
@wineandcupcakes I can only imagine the shutting down feeling! I just want to keep doing all of the things. I can't just sit when the tiniest thing is out of place in my house or there is a dish to be washed or a toy to be picked up. It will be my demise. You're right though. So far so lucky! Gotta think of all the positive.

Hi lovelies! I haven't checked in in a little while.
Week/Team/Fruit: 29 weeks/di-di girls
Appointments this week: this week is full! Had an endocrinologist appt on Monday, then OB on Thursday and growth scan on Friday. Excited to see my peanuts again. They were measuring just a tad small last scan so I'm hoping they aren't falling behind. If they are I'd be worried my own weight gain is the problem.
Symptoms: starting to get pretty uncomfortable. Sleep is on existent at this point. If I lay on my side I feel like my skin is being stretched so hard it will tear. If I lay on my back my back starts to hurt. I usually will nap in the recliner for a few hours after work. I may have to start sleeping in the basement until babies come if the recliner is the only thing I can handle.
Rants/Raves/Questions: our first baby shower is this coming weekend. I'm so excited!!
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? Bird box. Amazing book! Now I'm reading The Happiest Baby on the Block. Definitely not a thriller.
Appts: nothing this week. Waiting to see when my next ultrasound is scheduled for
Symptoms: not sleeping well. I've been waking up multiple times a night. My hips have been killing me this week, which could be the cause of waking up.
Rants/ Raves/Questions: I'm feeling the mom guilt this week with DS. We've been struggling getting him to participate in his activities (soccer, dance) that he used to love going to. It all came to ahead Monday when he burst into tears as soon as we got to soccer, even though he was fine on the way there. He can't explain why he's upset which makes it so heartbreaking.
GTKY: last book I read was "Olivia Decoded" which was the sequel to a free Kobo book. It was a decent book.
I liked Forgotten Girls too DVMmomma. The sequel was pretty good too
Appointments this week: Had an appointment today. I think I'm averaging (if you count MFM ultrasounds) appointments every 2 weeks now. There was glucose in my urine today, so I just did a GD test - praying that it comes back normal.
Symptoms: I have a cold, so breathing has been tough. I slept in my recliner last night, which helped. Other than that, symptoms have been movement (though not too much and certainly nothing consistent). My feet are also starting to swell.
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? Wilde Lake by Laura Lippman. It was okay. My next book is Tina Fey's Bossy Pants.
DVMmomma - I have to say...around week 33 I began to shut down physically. Now any movement is a huge chore. I can't imagine having a toddler on top of this. Reflux, swelling, discomfort, etc etc. Whenever I am feeling extra bad, I remind myself that I'm lucky. So many twin pregnancies don't go like this. Sometimes I have to remind myself many times!
fightersince83 - I hope you get the help you need. You are so close to v day!!!!
the shutting down of the body is so hard. my mind is still going and going but my body says STOP.
Week/Team/Fruit: 34w/4d - bags of potato chips - team purple
Appointments this week: NST and BPP - C section scheduled for Feb. 20
Symptoms: overall exhaustion and the feet keep swelling
Rants/Raves/Questions: nothing. I've been making a lot of progress getting things done at work, but there's still so much to do.
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? I don't know if it counts as a book, it was only 40 pages - but it's what our bookclub read - "We Should All Be Feminists" - I really enjoyed it.
Appointments this week: BPP, NST, and OB checkup today. Bottom baby is now breech and top baby is transverse with his head on the opposite side from last week. Apparently they still have enough space to move.
Symptoms: Ow. And tired. I had my OB fill out a form that I work part-time next week and I'm off after that. I can work from home, but between appointments, taking care of kids during non-work hours, and just being large making two more kids, I'm tired.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Nothing much.
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? I don't even remember the last book I read. Probably one of the Philippa Gregory books. I'll say that it was good because I don't finish a book if I don't like it.
Hey, Can i get added to the check in as well. I found out at my 20 week ultrasound that I am having twins and have been lurking since.
Appointments this week: next appointment not until Feb 7ish
Symptoms: Starting to have insomnia
Rants/Raves/Questions: Finally starting to adjust to having 2 instead of one. But still seems crazy that we are going to have a 4 kids 4 and under. I am glad we are moving to a bigger center on March 1 and will have access to more resources.
GTKY: What's the last book that you read? Was it any good? I can't even remember the last book I read. Will have to take some ideas and get some ebooks to read...
elmo1414 and happyfeet9 , yes!! Welcome! This is so weird, I was just looking at the check in list thinking it had been too long since we'd had any newcomers!
Thanks for the welcome! And yes, I'm very interested in hearing how your pregnancy has been going with a two year old to look after. My son turned 2 in December and he has definitely been keeping me on my toes!
