DS is still sleeping (yay!), hopefully he's sleeping off the rsv, and I don't have to be at work until 10 since he can't go to day care, so I'm waiting for MIL to be able to be here and enjoying the quiet time. What's everyone else doing today?

Morning! My H came home last night finally! It was a long 5 months and I'm glad it's over.
I spoke to my pediatrician yesterday over the phone about M's limping and she said as long as it doesn't get worse, there's no bruising or swelling, and it's not painful to the touch, to give it til next week to see if we should come in. I'm glad she wasn't too concerned but I just can't figure out why he's limping.
I hope V can avoid surgery budders and doesn't give you too hard of a time with the nasal spray. Sounds like you've found a great ENT at least.

budders I feel you on the medicine thing- it's not exactly the same, but for the past 6w we have to to put some sort of medicine in our dog's eye. Three times a day. She's 105lbs. It's basically the equivalent to alligator wrestling. FX V goes back to being interested a cooperative for you!
Morning. I'm stuck covering kindergarten this am, but not until 9:30. Kindergarten is my least favorite, but it will only be for a short time, at least!
Lo's speech evaluation is tomorrow and I don't have anyone to watch her Friday, so this is my last work day this week.
I think C and I will spend the day playing/cleaning at home. I don't have anything that we need to go into work for (and I don't want to spend half the time I'm there cleaning up whatever his "toy" of the day is) Dinner is at my moms tonight so C and I will head over a little early and DH will meet us when he is done with work.

Good luck with the eval! Is speech the only one they're doing? They have to do SI in NY in addition to any of the additional evals.
Our IFSP meeting is next Monday, and our service coordinator told me yesterday they can't find a bilingual Russian speech therapist. Do I just go with English then? If M understands Russian better than English? I don't want to wait too long for services to start either.
Yesterday I did a pretty good purge of the house, which we haven't really done since moving in 4.5 years ago. There's more I want to do yet, but it's feeling so good!
The ENT gave us a saline antibiotic spray that we're supposed to be using twice a day for four weeks to see if we can clear up V's adenoids to avoid surgery. Yesterday, he was pretty interested in the process and actually was pretending to squirt it up his own nose with the capped bottle once we were done.
This morning was pretty much the complete opposite. It's going to be a long month.
Did I miss that V is getting tubes again? We had E's ENT appointment yesterday and without even looking in his ears the surgeon said without a doubt from his records he needs tubes. Once he finally did look in his ears, surprise, surprise, both ears looked bad. We've been battling an ear infection since before Thanksgiving and have now been on 4 different antibiotics to clear it up. Just waiting to get the call to schedule the surgery.
Lets see, today started out by my best friend calling me to tell me her grandfather passed away over night. and then my dad called to tell me that he wants me to come down next week when he has surgery to remove the rest of the cancer from his leg. So now im trying to find flights that arent going to break the bank and figure out how H is going to do drop off and pick up from day care...Can today be over with already?
I'm bathing DS last night, and out of the blue he looks at me and goes "net Fuck". Like clear as day. In surprise I went "what?!" And he repeated himself, but smiling and a little more unsure of himself because of my reaction.
Eventually I deducted he said "Netflix". And now I hope he doesn't talk about Netflix at school....
Glad your H is home holliberry28! Sorry about your grandpa and friend dmoney!
I was almost at work this morning then I found they completely shut down the road right in front of the office. My first detour took me into a parking lot that lead back to the road still blocked off so I had to turn around again and then drive another 10 minutes out of my way. Fun times.

While DS was playing earlier this morning, he picked a booger out of his nose. I asked him to get a Kleenex to wipe it off, but instead he put it in his mouth. I told him, "Buddy, we don't eat our boogies." So he fished it out and handed it to me. Thanks, kid!
Yay! So glad your H is home holliberry28! michyme123 I really want to get back to documenting and printing pictures again too. Hopefully it will be easier with a craft room in the new house.

No, his tubes are good. We had his six month check up on Monday, and I mentioned that he has constant colds that clear up for a day or two and then he's sick all over again. The ped has also diagnosed several ear infections since he got the tubes, but the ENT was skeptical because he didn't have any drainage, and the tubes looked fine. They said the never ending cycle of nasal congestion and postnasal drip a classic sign of adenoid issues, so that would be the next step to take care of. She offered us the spray to see if that helps before we jump into surgery, I'm hoping it does.
Sorry you guys have to replace the tubes again, but I hope it helps him feel much better!
Now it all makes sense! This will be the first time getting tubes for E and we're hoping they do the trick to stop the fevers and hopefully stop the seizures.

is this where I admit I don't have a SINGLE photobook of the kids? I should really get on that before I worry about trip ones I guess lol I'm just overwhelmed at this point. I know some people do one per birth year, but that seems too much for me to do at this point. Well and that will be a lot of photo books around the house.
Maybe I will ask here. How do you all do photo books? Are you doing by year? Every few years? I have their baby books updated but no photo albums...to be fair I don't even have a wedding photo album so it's not just my kids lol digital makes me lazy about this apparently...
Our "baby book" for DS is really a Snapfish album I put together of his first year. Our wedding album is the same. An idea that I really like is doing "family yearbooks," so you have one book for every year, which seems doable if I keep up with my pattern of dumping albums into files on the computer by month every so often. It seems excessive to do by birth year, since then I'd have to do double the work. But I figure this way if we do have another baby, I'll do a special "year one" book for him/her, and then I can just keep one book for the whole family moving forward that would include birthday parties, vacations, etc.
Now I just need to motivate myself to start one for 2016...
In response to your question about the evaluation, did they say they would keep looking for someone who can also do Russian? If not, I would just proceed with the evaluation in English so that you can get some answers soon
Oh, the evaluations were already done in Russian at the end of December. They are recommending SI, ST, and OT but I won't know mandates til our meeting next Monday. The problem is finding Russian speaking therapists, not evaluators.

The attorney who heads up my team keeps leaving treats on our desk to show his appreciation for all the work we're putting in right now. Which is really sweet, but it's killing me because I can't eat them and they smell amazing (I bring them home for the kids). I get a whiff of today's snickerdoodle every time I lean forward.

I decided to make a Shutterfly photo book for every year of V's life. I did one last June that included birth-first birthday. A teacher at school mentioned that she has been doing that for her kids, and I thought it was a great way to do it. We don't really have printed pics of V, so it made sense to do something digitally to be printed.
I've had this planned forever and still haven't done it
I've done shutterfly books for every major photo shoot we've done (newborn, 6 mos, birthday) and I did a summer one. Will likely do a fall/winter one. LO LOVES looking at photobooks!
dogmama22, I've been meaning to do the Shutterfly books as well and haven't gotten around to them yet. I do at least have almost all of our pictures on Shutterfly. One day I'll get around to it. DHs mom asked for Shutterfly books of her last couple Europe trips for Christmas. Lady, I can't even do one for my kid- I'm not doing one for a trip I didn't even go on!
In other news, Cs rain boots came in today! Now if our weather would make up its mind that would be great. I ordered them off of Toys R Us. The Koala brand was having a buy one get one 50% off (and they were already marked down 50%.) So I was able to get both pair for only $16 and hopefully we won't need rain boots for a little while.
michyme123 I make each kid a yearly book. ETA- and we each write them a special birthday note on the back page for them when we get them. And I made vacation books. I use Picaboo, I started out with them and love their program!
