Just got home from the park and holy crap there were a million kids there today. I'm working on not hovering over DS while he plays and encouraging him to make friends. He was so sweet today with the other kids. Also small rant. People ask how old he is and when we tell them "almost two" they go on and on about how awful two is. I totally understand that they tantrum more, exert their independence, etc and it's hard. We are already dealing with some of that. Why is that all people say when you reply with "almost two"? Just tell me he's cute or something positive.

Ok, done now.
People say the most insensitive and sometimes downright stupid things. It's like when I was pregnant for the first time and people would ask how I was doing. If I ever complained of being tired, they'd inevitably get this gleam in their eyes and say something about "Oh, you think you're tired now, just wait until the baby is here!" I'm sure two will be fine and you'll survive it and even enjoy it!
shellbell, even though we are a week from 2, I'm really enjoying DS right now. He's so imaginative and playful. He's also such a talker and I love it!
My DS was a late talker, so most of his language happened in the last year. And it's hilarious! He picks up these phrases and uses them inappropriately which leads to some really funny conversations. And his little personality has developed so much.
2 was also hard for me because I definitely saw the transition to big boy. No more baby left, and that's a weird thing to experience as a mom!

Two was great! Three has been challenging in different ways. But I think every age has it's own set of challenges based on ability and independence. I'm curious what four has to offer LOL
MH is off to Patient First with J. Possible ear infection. Fun! Poor thing is susceptible to them and with the weird warm weather I wouldn't be surprised if she's got one (or a double). She's always had bad sinus issues. I'm almost excited for the pedi to suggest getting her tonsils and adenoids out. I had mine removed as an adult (25) and it SUCKED.

And I think it's so true that each age has its own challenges. In a matter of an hour, I can experience so much joy and so much frustration associated with my child. They get more and more independent, which can be a double edged sword for sure!

shellbell, musicallyinclined - Thanks. At least she can tell us when her ears hurt. And she's sooooo good at the doctor. We're very lucky in that regard. Poor thing had eye issues for over a year, then sinuses, and she has allergies like me and MH. I'm almost itching to get those tonsils out. Its been discussed with the pedi, but she's a bit young still. Maybe in a year or so, at about 5 YO. I just feel so bad for her.
And she's so damn cute! She brought me a milkshake and I have her my cherry. She said, "Oh, Mommy, thank you so much for sharing Baby Brother's cherry with me!" LOL

Frozen lemonade from CFA is the tits.
I guess I didn't articulate well what bothered me. She wasn't just snappy with him. She was MEAN. She was telling him he was a bad boy and she hated having to take him places because he was so misbehaved. He wasn't going to be allowed to pick out a snack or candy because he didn't deserve it. And maybe something happened that I didn't see, but watching an adult tell a child HE was bad instead of saying his ACTIONS were bad really set off my hormones.

So today really turned into a great eating day. One and a half donuts, 4 pieces of pizza, 3 cookies and a latte. I was working an event today and these were my free options. Not complaining but honestly feel kind of sick! Still would eat some chic fil a if it was here, you all have me craving it! Also, agreeing that 2 is not bad. I've actually loved it, there are some random meltdowns but I'm loving this time. And actually terrified about the newborn-1 yr phase coming up! Mostly bc of sleep issues that come with it wah.

I really need to put DS in 3T pants for length. But his 2Ts are still cinched all the way in on the adjustable waist band...and he still loses them sometimes! How is he going to keep 3Ts up?
It's an ear infection. Boo. Poor kid. At least she's in good spirits and her fever is lowgrade.
And she's finally over 34 lbs.! She's a little petite thing LOL
She may weigh the same as DS...but he is incredibly tall. Also incredibly skinny.
She'll be 4 in May. And I think most of her weight is her head lol She's about 50th percentile for height and about 30th for weight. Her head has always been off the charts or in the 90th. My beautiful bobble head lol

oldbaylover1024 DS is holding strong in the 100th percentile for head size too- I think it suits him!! This LO's head is measuring 3 weeks ahead as of our last US lol.

This will be my DS too. He's still in 18 month pants (he's 18 months), and almost too tall for them but the 24 month pants just fall down unless he's wearing a cloth diaper. And he's got a freakishly long torso, because he's almost too long for his 24 month onesies already. I may have to just say goodbye to them. Sad day.

Kind of trigger warning, I guess...
Last night MH told me that some acquaintances of ours just had their baby - and he managed to tell me the baby's name. I was almost impressed (he can never remember details about babies) - until tonight when I asked him to show me the picture of their kid, and I read the caption with it. Turns out the wife had to have several life saving surgeries and Has only now been released from the ICU to recovery - and they had their baby a week ago!
Me: You didn't tell me she almost died!!! Him: um, I guess I didn't read that far?

We would have the same issue but since most of DD's pants are leggings or jeggings the 3Ts just kind of cling. I'm going to have so much to learn in the clothing department if this one is a boy.

Adjustable waist is everything. Idk if girl pants have it? In jeans or other real pants (not soft pants), there are long elastic sections that you can cinch in and secure with a button. It's great for the string bean crowd, especially.

They make the adjustable waists for girls and they are awesome!!! J lives in them!

If baby girl is built anything like DS, this is excellent news!

I thought I was having a lot of cramping last night but was so exhausted I just kept falling asleep and figured it would wake me up if anything significant was happening. Sure enough this morning I'm having almost constant cramping....maybe something is starting?

@jacks605 - FX they both pass this morning!
flyinghorses6 - I'll keep my FX for you! Maybe pass that good juju this way LOL
I've been contracting for days now with zero consistency. It's becoming annoying. My boss predicted I'd have this baby tomorrow. FX he's right!!!
To ease my woes we're having cinnamon rolls and fruit salad for breakfast. J and I are letting MH sleep in since he gave me some time alone yesterday. Poor guy has been having stomach issues.
I'm assuming that because my kid has an ear infection and MH is most likely sick with a stomach bug I'm bound to go into labor, right? Right?!?!

So I got up to pee at 4am last night and had definitely bloody show. Bright red, mucusy, and only there when I wiped. No gushing, soaking panties, or running down my leg.
I called my OB's doctor on call just to be sure I shouldn't worry. (Blood of any kind has alarmed me this pregnancy.) He told me it sounded like bloody show and if the bleeding got worse or I felt uncomfortable to come into the hospital.
DH and I went back to bed.
Had some cramping yesterday/ last night and a few contractions, but nothing consistent.
So now I'm on pins and needles again wondering if I'll be having a baby in the next 24 hours or if my body is punking me again....
For those STMs or those who just delivered, how long did you go into labor after your bloody show?
