Just laid ds down, hoping he sleeps longer than 20 minutes, that has not happened yet tonight. Mh is sleeping now and will take over after the next time he eats. We are currently a little frustrated with each other right now because of dd and a fit she had at my parents house tonight. Hopefully it will blow over because I don't really feel like dealing with it right now.

Baby girl wants to be held to sleep all evening. She's never done this before. My nap was cut short because of it and I'm praying she sleeps in the RNP tonight
Heyyyyyy just nursed dd and now she's chilling upright while I house a bagful of combos. She's a spitty baby right now per the nurses. The nurse who delivered her last night is working the maternity floor tonight and she's awesome. She gave me a Percocet and offered to take dd to the nursery for three hours so I could sleep even those that's generally frowned upon in this super baby-mom rooming in etc hospital. It was glorious since I didn't get any sleep Saturday night.
First stretch was 3.5 hrs, so not bad! I'm kinda surprised that B has his days/nights figured out so early. I feel like DD was out of sorts forever.
Also, I'be got a stupid cold and runny nose. Every time I nurse B and look down at him I'm afraid I'm going to drip on him so I've got a tissue shoved up my nose. Glamorous.

LO was napping on my H for about an hour. Instead of going to bed, I was watching ridiculous tv. Now that she is nursing/snacking (and probably will be for like 45 mins), I'm really regretting not taking advantage of that time to slepp!
Hey girl hey! lakegirl so excited to see you here! Also combos sound delicious! Also any news on the name front? You know we are all on pins and needles!

Up for first feeding! I brought the pump upstairs earlier while inlaws were here. I think I will sit up and pump in bed. Hope H is cool with the noise because this is significantly better than pumping downstairs on the couch.
And hey lakegirl! Take advantage of the hospital and rest up!

heybulldog56 I pump in bed even if h is here sleeping. It's so much easier.
Up pumping and hopefully back to sleep for a little bit until I take over for H soon. I'm praying for long stretches of sleep she seems to do them early morning I'm Hoping j can get them to happen more at night.

My baby is asleep. He's basically been asleep since 7pm with only one sort of, very short awake period. Why am I up? Because I'm dumb. First, I binge watched Hulu. Then, I pumped some because my boobs were killing me and W was still asleep. Since I pumped, I had to wash everything. Then, I finally got into bed and.....couldn't sleep. Don't know why. I'm so tired. But now I'm pretty convinced W will wake up soon because why shouldn't he? He's been sleeping for forever.
First wake up here. I've woken.up sick. Headache, sore throat, stuffy nose and just want to be in bed. Hope this is a short and mild cold. DS1 never got sick as a small baby so I don't really know how to deal with DS W if he gets this too.
I'm up for second feeding too, so much for the one wake up we got for several days So she nursed great on one side, put her on the other and she nursed for like 4 mins then started writhing around and pulled off and won't go back. This is so frustrating. I'm guessing she's gassy even though I've burped her, given gas drops, everything I can think of. I've got her over my shoulder trying to burp again. But would you keep trying to get her latched even though she's writhing around and pulling off or just give up and try that side first at next feeding??

Hope it's nothing and you get over the cold quickly. I'm just now getting over a month long upper respiratory thing. I was coughing all around the baby but she's fine, I'm sure your kiddo will be fine too.

bazinga, Oh no! I hope whatever you have doesn't pass to your kiddos and that you're able to kick it soon! vlagroupie, I'd just yet again later. Mostly because my patience for anything is zero at night.

Well, I didn't get any sleep before H and W came to bed because I couldn't warm up. Then, as I finally start to drift off to sleep after nursing W, he decides sleep is for the weak and he needs to eat again. I hope he sleeps as well after this feeding as he did before being brought back!

No patience over here either. I did give up and she went back to sleep thankfully. I guess I get worried about my supply getting screwed up if she doesn't nurse long enough on one side. Ugh I've just got paranoia about supply issues since I experienced that with my first.

I'm the same way. It used to really drive me crazy and from time to time, I have H talk me down and remind me that one short or eliminated time on one side is ok. It mildly helps.
@littleredm sending the sleepy dust your way. Are these kids not as tired as we are?? Hunger rules I guess but I forgot how much this nb phase sucks.
Lol I actually love the newborn phase! But both of my boys have been fairly good sleepers for at least one stretch of the night. I just wish I slept, too.
N was squirming and grunting around most of the three hours she was asleep so I didn't sleep well. She's not usually that noisy so I'm not sure what the deal was.
We have chiro at 9 so I'm going to miss my third chunk of sleep today

It's just the inconsistent nights of sleep deprivation. I love the fact that you can take them anywhere and meeting their needs are relatively simple. But this gassy baby not acting right at night is the worst. Sorry you can't get back to sleep. I was like that with my first. This time I've been relatively lucky to fall back asleep within 30 mins or so. And with that being said, going to try and get some shut eye.

Omg my right boob hurts so much. It feels like it's been punched multiple times in all areas and W decided only a shadow latch would work last time so the nipple is really sore and tender. What the hell. Hoping it will feel better after he's done nursing.
silvermelody same! I'm pretty sure I actually held ds all night his first night. Oh the first time mom feels. The look on my face was equal to if I had one the lotto when she offered. Take her away my nurse angel!

Yep! I was worried about my supply . rightfully but I didn't know that a three hour nursery trip wouldn't hurt.
This time I was like "take her!" "It doesn't open until midnight" It's 11:15 "Damnit"
Whyyy is she fussy and grunting all night? What happened to my sleepy angel baby? She must have a poop stuck or something. I'm getting zero sleep because I keep thinking she's about to scream

I'm in the same grunting, fussy boat. It's been over a week and I'm so done with it.
