I've been up for about an hour now. C is still sleeping. I think I might just have to make a point to get up when DH leaves for work every morning. I can have some quiet me time, actually take a morning shower and enjoy a good Netflix show with my coffee.
Here! S has her ENT appointment this morning. I need to try to find a dentist in our network. Apparently the one we designated on our policy closed his office.
Lots of emails, lots of meetings and I'm currently pumping, oh the joy. I just want to be at home snuggling L.
DH is doing daycare drop off this morning since he doesn't work today. I'm waiting for a text to see how things went. He's never had to watch both kids at once before so I'm secretly laughing and waiting to see how this goes.

I got mcdonalds breakfast this morning but they messed up my order so all I ended up eating was the hash brown-__- when will I learn to check the back before I go?!

BH has his anemia check today, DH is bringing him in. I loaded him up last night with iron rich snacks, so I'm hoping that helps. I should probably give him some cheerios this morning too...
I'm so glad that it's February!! We go to Paris and Iceland this month, sans kids... Tell me that I'll get excited at some point. Right now I'm just a mess about leaving the kids.
DH comes home today! This has been a long 10 days so I'm so looking forward to it.
michyme123tiffbot I always get iced caps at Timmys, except for during roll up the rim. My coffee machine is currently broken so I feel like my odds of winning will be increased this year.
Hope you have an OK first day back, tjanca22! I'm sure L is having a great day!
And carrots, how would you feel about house guests until about mid-April? We just got a fresh blanket of snow, and I'm over winter.
As for me, I had super weird dreams all night last night. At one point, I was having a horrifically bad day at work. Then H somehow came and got me and we wound up eating fried chicken in an airport. Bizarre. And I woke up tired and feeling like it should be further along in the week than Wednesday since I dreamed about basically an entire workday.
tjanca22 whaaaat? How?! Wasn't she just born last week?! Hugs to you today. I bet L is having a great day!
Someone should really make a warning for expecting STM that need to go back to work that leave goes by twice as fast the second time around! This is my PSA to all those TTC!
I just partially moved into my new cube at work (I was sharing an office with someone until my predecessor started her new job). It smells super funky over here and she was pretty disorganized so I'm cleaning, throwing things away, and filing stacks of papers. This also means that it's my first day on my own in my new job. I still don't completely know what I need to be doing every day luckily my predecessor just moved upstairs and plans to come back for a while and keep training me/help me out when I have questions.
Also, we find out our yearly bonus % today, fingers crossed it's a good one!
Paging buddersjessilablueskiessmilingsammyca(maybe?) And any other developmental specialists. I need to make a log of E's behaviors for the mext month and I remember someone mentioning a helpful way of doing this. Can anyone give an example or link to what you find most helpful?
I found this on the NYC public school website. It's got a lot of extra info you may not need to include, but you can probably modify it to what you'll use it for.
She's on day 7 of an antibiotic for her latest ear infection and he said her ears are still ugly.
I'm sorry she has to have surgery. I will say, though, the surgery for tubes (and I've heard adenoids also) is very straightforward and was SO QUICK. V has improved so much since getting the tubes put in. It's also great that they're doing both at once! Good luck!
stuck
I know! DS is on his 2nd set. I just hate the thought of her going under. He said she is SO congested for being on day 7 of antibiotics and that he thinks it's best to do both since she's usually a pretty snotty kid.
@jemomma, just echoing what the others have said. Document the information and be as specific as possible with your documentation. The chart that holliberry28 posted is great but might be a bit of an information overload for you. I would go with something a little more streamlined kind of like this chart. Be as specific as possible with your descriptions. Tallying specific behaviors within a specific time frame may help, too. Whenever I'm collecting specific data for a student, like calling out, I keep a strip of masking tape on my leg and will mark it with a marker whenever it happens. I'm sorry that you're meeting resistance in this journey from your behavioral pediatrician. Keep trusting your gut instincts and advocating for E. You're doing a great job.

@jemomma, if you're suspecting SPD, I would try to hone in on documenting specific sensory issues. I would try to record things like refusing to wear clothes, being overstimulated in normal crowd situations (like the mall or grocery store), not wanting to be touched/being TOO touchy, etc... I'm sorry you feel they aren't taking things seriously. Maybe if you have documented super specific sensory issues, they'll at least give things a second look.
Do you feel like her preschool is helping to advocate for her at all in this regard?

@jemomma I'm sorry the pedi is brushing off her teacher's input. That, along with parent report, are usually my best sources of info of what a kid actually needs from me. Unfortunately a lot of doctors fail to realize that that 15 minute segment of time that they actually see a kid during an appointment slot is not generally representative of that kid's everyday behavior.
I really take issue with doctors who act like other people's observations don't count for much.
I have nothing to add that the other ladies haven't already, but I'm sorry the pediatrician is blowing you off, @jemomma. Hugs to you and E as you figure this out!
She's on day 7 of an antibiotic for her latest ear infection and he said her ears are still ugly.
Hugs. We're getting tubes for E in the next few weeks, just waiting for scheduling to call and confirm the date. We too have been on antibiotics with little to no help either, so I feel for ya. Four different antibiotics since Thanksgiving with only about a 10 day break in between of not being on them. He's still running a fever and was pulling on his ears today, so we have another ped appointment on Friday.
