DD is almost two weeks old. Over the past few days, she's had maybe 2 or 3 poops that are greenish in color. The rest are the expected yellow. Any ideas? I read it could be too much foremilk, but almost every feed I make sure she's on one side activiely eating for at least 10-15 min. I do think I have a bit of an oversupply on my right side.
I cut dairy about 5 days ago since her stool had some mucus in it and she had extra gas. This was at the recommendation of my pediatrician. I had to do the same with DS.
if LO seems happy and there is no blood in it, i wouldn't worry. green poop can be caused by too much foremilk, a virus, or swallowing lots of drool/teething. it can happen in particular during growth spurts. make sure you "finish the first breast first"- let LO finish nursing on one side before you offer the other side. you can also do massage/breast compressions on the side LO is nursing to try to help get the hindmilk out.
