Super Bowl Sunday Food Thread!

Who all is doing some super bowl planning? Any recipes to share? Are you cooking for just your family or a group of people?

I will be working if I haven't had this baby yet so lame!!!! But I will lurk here and stare at all the food I wish I was going to be eating.

We usually just do chips and salsa at work, maybe a veggie platter, and pizzas with the game on in an empty room. People can pop in and out and check scores...but obviously there isn't much watching unless the floor has no patients being monitored.

Normally we do it big, but not this year. I may send MH to a bar so he can watch it. I just don't have the energy to do anything this year.

I normally make a few munchies - sausage cheese balls, veggie tray, this yummy bean dip by Pioneer Woman (it's made with black eyed peas).

We have a friend couple coming with their little one who isn't quite 2. They're coming from across the state and I'm concerned on a few levels: impending baby coming, weather, and cold/flu germs. We do this every year, though, so it'd be a bummer if it didn't work out.

For appetizers, I'm making a spicy cheese dip, mini shrimp tacos, and meatballs.

Late lunch is a cresent roll baked italian sandwich ring, and some garlic/ parmesan potato wedges.

Dinner is bbq ribs and rolls.

I'm still pondering what to make for the little ones to eat. Thankfully, most of this is pretty easy and quick, and DH is handling the meat things.

We normally go to our friends' house, but they had a baby last summer and I don't think they're doing anything this year. So we're boring and probably won't do anything - as sad as I am to miss yummy appetizer food

I always make at least one dip. My buffalo chicken dip is normally requested so I know I'll make that. Will post the recipe tomorrow when I get on my computer at work.

I'll think of the other go to Super Bowl foods tonight hopefully and post tomorrow. I'm blanking at the moment 🙈

ETA: Guacamole. I make a mean guac. Will post that tomorrow too.

pivot -I love buffalo chicken dip! My recipe is pretty basic curious how close mine is to yours.

8oz cream cheese
Lg can of shredded chicken
1/2 cup ranch
1/2 cup franks red hot sauce
Cheese
Optional- diced green onions
Mix all and put more cheese on top and bake till bubbly.

Doubtful we do anything this year. Past years we get together with friends.

This thread is making me drool. I'm going to try making that dip pivot! Other than that I'll probably do some frozen Trader Joe's things. I know if I make a mess in my kitchen it will doom me into going into labor and I'll be pissed to come home to a messy house. #typeA

I don't think anybody has mentioned queso. Mmm velveeta, rotel and sausage. Ooh so good.

I love me some buffalo chicken dip too, so that's on the menu for sure.

Usually we go to our friends house who hosts a big party every year, but this year we're skipping out and staying local because I'm not exactly up for driving 1 hr with a newborn and toddler so close to bedtime.

@jacks605 Mine is super similar!

2 chicken breasts roasted in oven with McCormicks seasoning (chopped finely after cooled)
2 8oz stick of cream cheese
1 cup Buffalo Wing Sauce (I like Hooters brand but any of them work fine)
1 cup of good ranch
1 bag of shredded Monteray Jack Cheese

Mix together in a bowl and pour into 9x13 or two 8x8's (This is a double batch I usually make a double and freeze one for later).
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. I serve with Stacy's Pita Chips.

Guac Recipe

4-5 avocados
2 limes
1/8 cup finely chopped red onion
2 plum tomatoes seeded and chopped
1-2 jalepenos chopped (seeded and de-ribbed if you don't want it super spicy - I recommend doing this)
1/2 garlic clove finely minced
2 tsps. hot sauce
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tbsp. finely chopped cilantro
Salt and Pepper

Mash avocados and add lime juice right away to keep it from browning. Add all other ingredients and stir. Serve ASAP. If not serving right away, store in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly on the top of the guacamole.

It's a game changer. I made an extra batch that went in my maternity freezer meals section of my freezer 😂
