biscotto, my DD is 2 months shy of 3 and naps at noon. With us she doesn't go longer than 1.5hrs. At daycare she'll do 2.5hrs...sometimes even 3. She's definitely easier to put down at her bedtime (7pm) on the weekends. On week days it takes her much longer to fall asleep.
Oh - I thought of something else I've been meaning to get input on.
I've been thinking more and more about slowly going through the house with a Kon Mari-esque critical eye to purge clutter. Do I purge sentimental-ish items that I have no use for? Example: for both DD and DS my mom has knit blankets. They are not my style and will just sit on a closet shelf taking up space. My mom has a condition (muscular dystrophy) and I live on the 2nd floor so that means she'll never actually visit my house to notice they're missing if I get rid of them...but it makes me feel bad knowing she made them for me and I tossed/donated them.
C section mamas--do you have lower back pain? I just started to get lower back muscle spasms today and I strangely remember this with my first c/s. Like I can barely bend over to pick baby up out of the pnp. Some googling tells me it could be related to c/s. I'm roughly 5 weeks pp now I wish I could remember when I experienced this with my first. I'm broke out the bio freeze and heating pad and hoping it gets better.

I'm not that familiar with Kon Mari but I would keep the blankets for your kids. Idk as an adult I liked that my mom gave me things from when I was a baby that are sentimental. It's hard to say, your kids may not care when they are older. Now that I think of it, my mom only gave me some of my baby clothes so maybe she chucked a baby blanket or never had one for me. Sorry I guess I'm no help lol.

I think I'd keep them. Having a few things from my grandparents (a knit blanket, a newborn dress ) means something to me, and it may for your kids too.
And as a knitter I understand the hours (days) your mom put into them.
Do you have a place for special keepsakes that isn't your closet?
ellabee I read the kon mari book and while she might tell you to toss those if they don't "spark joy" I'd hold on to something like that if your mom made them. If they were not handmade I'd feel differently.

Well, haven't made it outside. It's a little windy and I don't want to take Will out into it. So, I've been productive instead.
I actually got dressed today and not even to go anywhere! I think it made me feel like less of a bum. I'm almost done with all the laundry in the house, dishes are finished, bills have been paid, W is down for a nap, and DS1 is playing in his room. I'm now being a bum and watching Scandal. How have I not watched this show sooner?
My mom watched DD1 at her house today, it felt like a vacation at home with just F haha.
DH took DD for an overnight to the inlaws today/tomorrow. It totally feels like a vacation just having to deal with one! So funny because last time with DD I was like "dont leave me!" To DH. Now I'm like, get out of the house and leave me alone to nurse and nap with B.
vlagroupie I don't remember lower back pain, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I remember horrible hip pain though!! Really hoping to avoid that this time - which reminds me I need to start some really gentle stretching to try to avoid it. Be careful with biofreeze and heat - I've seen patients really get burned with that combo. Heat before biofreeze and then make sure skin is totally cool before applying it!! Also if it just started hurting try some ice for a few days instead of heat and see if that helps any. Hope you get relief soon!!
Ds' fever is in the low 103s now so probably not the two year molars like I was hoping. Now I'm spazzing because there's a newborn in the house. Mh just left for the store to get more meds because I didn't realize how low the bottle was. I could only give ds half the dose at bedtime. MOTY.

With DS I threw my back out around five months. The physical therapist said it was likely because my core muscles got pulled apart during the c-section so I was compensating by using my back wrong.
Be careful with how you are getting up from bed, the couch, how you are leaning over to change the diapers. Look up ergonomic ways to do these things and try tightening your abs before you do them. We're not supposed to do sit ups but we can pull in our muscles to support ourselves

Catching up, but biscotto - DD is 2 years and 4 months. On the weekend, we put her to nap at about 1:30. We do NOT wake her up unless we have plans. She usually sleeps til about 4 or 4:30. She naps at about the same time at daycare, but not quite as long, I don't think?
