Yes! Technically I live in Cherokee county but it's close enough! Yesterday was Falcons Friday for us too!
I'm really excited! We don't often have sports teams that do good things, so this is really awesome!
I'm not in the city either, we are northeast, around the mall of GA area. My SIL and her family live in Cherokee co. Small world
Indeed! I LOVE the mall of Georgia! We make a point to go at least once a year, usually to take advantage of the huge IMAX at the movie theatre. Plus I head up that way to haunt Athens every once in a while.
This day is getting worse. I officially have a cold and my mom's aunt in Canada just died this morning - she feels she can't risk going because even though she has citizenship and even though that judge overturned the E.O., she's worried because her birthplace says "Iran" that something might happen and she can't come home.
So sorry for your loss. Sounds like your day could use a serious do-over...
And the situation with the immigration ban makes me so incredibly rage-y.... So glad that the judges have finally "checked" his power. Apparently being president doesn't give you unlimited power. Who knew? Well, actually we all did because it's in the frickin constitution!
LCOL area FTW. We got our 4b, 2.5ba, 2100 sq. foot house with partially finished walkout basement for $167k. Foreclosure, but still. If all goes well, when we go to sell in the spring, we stand to make $100k on it.
We're home. We left much later than expected due to DS2 napping and then needing a bottle before we left. Then both kids slept the whole way home. I kept DS1 up about an hour past his bedtime so he should be fine, but I attempted to put the baby down as normal. He went down, but it took some convincing. I'll be surprised if he sleeps until midnight before waking.
I'm exhausted. And still feel off. I told H I'm already planning how MY kid/husband free 24 hours is going to go. He was like "I hear you." Yeah. I hope so.
I hate Donald Trump with the fire of a million suns and refuse to refer to him with the P word in front of his name. It makes me want to vomit.
Today was my cousin's funeral. It was in a small funeral home and it was completely packed full of so many people who loved her. There were so many nice pictures on multiple boards; I really enjoyed looking at them. There was a sweet picture of her and me in the guest book and program... I am probably 7/8 years old (wearing an E.T. shirt - ha!) and she's 4/5 (wearing overalls). She's riding my aunt's pony and I'm holding onto the bridle, leading her, while looking at her with a big smile on my face. That's the little girl I will always remember.
Our church had a party with a dj at the gym so it was fun for the kids. The baby gets loved on and the big gets mom and dad. They had a photo booth and games too. I hope I won the silent auction stuff- baseball tickets and a date night package.
htle07 I can't get up and move while M is nursing. She immediately starts looking around to see where we are going! I second side nursing. If she is super fussy, side lying always works.
Am I the only insane person who paces around the room with an infant attached to my boob?! This is the only way he will settle down sometimes. Once he latches on and calms down, I can sit down and nurse like a normal person. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be mentioned.
My DD gets so distracted she won't even latch sometimes. I might try the walking around thing. I'm starting to think she prefers the bottle to the boob....
We went to my ILs yesterday to celebrate MHs birthday. Whenever we go there, we always end up staying so damn late. Luckily DS and DD both slept on the ride home though, and then went down pretty easily. Today we are doing some housecleaning before the big game. I STILL have like 4 baskets of laundry to put away, so since MH is home to entertain DS that is my goal. DD slept like crap last night. Down at 11:30 since she slept in the car, then up at 1:30, 3:45, and 7:00. Luckily that last stretch was a bit longer than the other two.
We live in a LCOL area too. We bought our 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom house with a garage for $65,000. Our payments are $150 lower than they would have been to continue renting our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom townhouse with garage. Once our MPI is paid off it will be another $100 less. I love our house so much!
Thank you for all the well wishes everyone. I'm hoping none of this awful immigration/refugee business passes again. I am the daughter of a refugee (the stories of my mom's family trying to get out of the country would make you cry) and it breaks my heart day after day reading the news that I've had to just turn it off and tune it out until I feel better physically/mentally.
On that end, DS slept through the night! He did wake up at like 4am to play apparently, but never whined or cried out for me, so I didn't get up and he went back to bed after like 15-20 minutes. So yay, hopefully that speeds along recovery from this crappola cold.
jwinct Sending condolences for your loss, again. Glad you were able to attend. @holachica Yay for getting out without the kids! Hope it was awesome. @kitchen Hope the nanny is good and that you find any even better one after that.
Jealous of all of you with LCOL areas. The DMV continues to make me wistful for Indiana pricing. My mom and dad still get sticker shock every time they visit despite us living out here almost eight years now.
@kitchen congrats!! If this job pans out for me we'll likely have to get a nanny to cover the 2 days/wk the boys aren't in daycare, so I'll have all the questions for you. @holachica I'm very jealous of the kid-free grown up time you guys are having. Enjoy!
I totally forgot the Super Bowl was on today until I read adouces06 post just now. I'll probably turn it on, but with H on call again tonight, I'm probably cashing out early. In case anyone is curious, I'm Team Falcons. Last night went swimmingly well, I was shocked, hoping for a repeat performance tonight. Both boys were in bed by 9, I went to bed by 9:30, and then DS2 slept until 5!!! DS1 got up at 6:45, but that's the most sleep I've had in a long time.
No other plans today. I really need to clean the bathrooms and there's a roast in the crockpot for dinner. It's going to smell delicious in here all day.

Good morning! My inlaws watched both girls while H and I went out to dinner. We had a really nice dinner and it was nice to have adult conversation. Then the inlaws kept #1 with them at their hotel for the night. #2 woke up at 1130 and then at 430 which wasn't too bad and then she slept in until 930. So much sleep! No big plans today besides lunch with the inlaws before they head out and grocery shopping. I usually go during the super bowl so I can have the whole store to myself.
Dh and I are getting haircuts today and then heading to my parents house for the super bowl. I don't really care who wins since the packers are out. DD slept from 9-8👌. I'm so jealous of all the sleep dh is getting. DS went to bed at 8, slept til 12, was awake til after 3 and then woke at 630 😴
LO needed a binky plus at 1045 but then slept til 630! DD1 woke at 530 again though. It's because she keeps losing her last binky. But I told DH not to go in and give it to her like he has been. She needs to start learning how to sleep without it and that getting up for the day at 530 is no bueno. She was a monster most of the morning. I'm starting to feel pretty angry, so I'm going out by myself for a couple hours right before she gets up from her nap. I'm starting to consider adding formula to LOS diet. It would allow me a little more freedom and less stress about if she's getting enough. Evenings are constant nursing because I don't know how much she's getting and she continues to nurse every time I offer. If I were to top her off with formula would I feel a little better thinking it was just fussiness and not hunger? I dunno. All I know is when it was just DD, I had the time and energy for it all, but I don't with LO plus a toddler. My dad and his wife came over for Christmas finally. There's a lot of family dynamic crap there, but it was overall a nice visit. And they brought cake. I've started washing 9 month clothes. I cannot believe how big and fast growing this little girl is! I have a huge desire to purge and clean and organize. I just don't know where to start and I never have big enough chunks of time. How are any of you doing it?? A lot of you still feel like life is crazy right?
sanibel21 yes, feeling like life is crazy. I think DH thinks I'm nutso, because my stress level is so much lower when he's home. I can't explain how much having that extra set of hands makes a difference. How am I managing to get anything done? Losing out on sleep, basically. I do things after the kids go to bed and during naps if they nap at the same time. I also get up at the same time as H (5:30) so that I'm showered before the kids rise. If I try to sleep until they get up, my day is shot. It takes me 3 hours to get ready with all the stopping to feed, wipe butts, cuddle, etc.
Plus, I'm #blessed (?) in that the kids go to daycare 3 days/week and I don't always work those days. Obviously, I'm super productive those days, though it would be nice spending them on me sometimes.
ETA: It often takes me multiple tries/days to finish a project. When I emptied DS2's dresser of 3 month stuff and brought out the 6 month, I had clothes laying around for 3 days.
Fyi- if you didn't hate the Pats already, Bill Belicek and Tom Brady are both Trump supporters. Go Falcons!
Not that you had to convince me any further since the Falcons are my home team, but this just deepens my desire to beat the Patriots even more. Maybe DT will tweet about it and piss off Atlanta
britta 3 days is all? I still have newborn and 3 month stuff out in his room. It impossible to organize his room when my only free time is his nap time.
