One of J's cultures came back positive for RSV. He has a ton of inflammation in his airways and doing the procedures added to it. His wheezing got progressively worse throughout the day yesterday and he started having retractions so I took him to the ER. Since he is compensating well (O2 100% on room air) they told us to watch him through the night. They gave us a script for steroids if we don't see improvement. I'll go get that filled as soon as I can this morning, but he's really not doing well. He coughed all night, respiration rate is at 66, wheezing, and having retractions. I think we are going to end up back in the ER. If all of that isn't enough, DH is leaving for Hungary at noon today for work.

He spiked a 103 fever so we are in the ER. He may be admitted but we are here for at least 8 hours.

He had a decent night. Plan is to try to wean him off oxygen today. We took it off once and he dropped so it didn't last long, but his lungs are sounding better.

I just want to say you are doing an amazing job as a mom. Having a sick kid is so hard! Your LO sounds a lot like my little brother... he was in and out of the hospital a lot in the first few years of his life. He had constant breathing problems and had to be on the nebulizer hours a day when he wasn't in the hospital. Anytime he got sick at all, even with a little cold he pretty much ended up in the hospital. It was very difficult while we were little but he is completely healthy now, he doesn't even have asthma anymore, hasn't needed an inhaler since the elementary school. I know that doesn't happen to everyone, but it does happen! I really hope your sweet boy feels better soon! And you are really doing an amazing job!

J is feeling a lot better todsy. He still needs to be suctioned often and is on a little oxygen so we are here for one more night.

Not sure yet, but we may be able to go home today. If we do it will be on oxygen. I'd like to go home, but whatever they think is best is fine. I'm ready for grandpa to go home. He's great about getting me food and whatever I need but not much else. His snoring is keeping me up at night, which is the last thing I need since I'm sick too now.

J is pretty good. Still not quite back to his normal self, but well enough to go to daycare today. We discontinued the oxygen Friday. I'm still not well and exhausted, but hanging in there. Back to work today anyway. Thanks for asking.
