Snow day here which is nice! DW is working from home and I have school work to do but plenty of time to get it done. It feels weird to not be able to help with the snow removal cause I actually like snow blowing but I'm not risking throwing my back out after getting it put back at the chiro twice this week! This chiro thinks she can "cure" my back once and for all but it's a huge commitment (time and money). I'm always a bit skeptical but she came so highly recommended that I feel like it's worth a shot. I will need to go 3 times a week pretty much until the baby comes and she's about a 25 minute drive away so not ideal. But if I can get pain relief AND my back/pelvis into proper alignment for birth it'll be totally worth it! I was supposed to have a massage today but no way I'm venturing out in the snow. So I'm bummed about that!
Stay warm/safe to everyone in new England! And I'm super jealous of the rest of you lol!

Glad you have a light at the end of the pain tunnel rosesquared!
Yesterday was really hectic and intense work-wise, so I just avoided life. And today I'm in a horrible mood, not entirely sure why. It doesn't help that I feel so sick, and H is now fighting a fever.
On the plus side, I went to a 1:1 prenatal class last night and it was awesome. And this Saturday is our first birth class And my baby shower is next weekend.

I'm at work but the snow has started and I'm planning on leaving early. I'm thankful that H is feeling better and can clear the snow and I'm looking forward to being snowed in for the afternoon.
rosesquared, I hope the chiropractor does help with your back.
icedtea, sorry you're in a horrible mood and that you guys are both sick.
I need to sign up for a birthing class but I can't decide where. The hospital where I'll be giving birth offers one-day crash course (they no longer offer a 4 week course), then there's an independent (crunchier) organization that offers both a 4 week course and a one-day course. The 4-week course there is quite a bit more expensive and I don't know if it would be worth it. I do plan on taking a lactation class and infant safety and CPR class at the hospital.

I had my 1-hr GTT this morning along with my 28w appt. I signed paperwork to choose a RCS and tubal ligation so now I feel like it's official. They should be scheduling baby boy's eviction date soon and it will most likely be May 1. Less than 12 weeks - yikes! I am trying to decide whether I want to schedule a hospital tour since it's been 3 year since I had DD (and we didn't even stay in the maternity area while there) but MH thinks it's not necessary. I did see that the hospital offers a sibling class for 3-6 year olds so I think I will sign DD up for that.

sleepymonkey I'm doing a tour even though it's been 2.25 years. Just in case anything is new and so I can remember what it was like. My memory is a little foggy.

BabyStandish, I think it would be good to go. Last time, we ended up on the peds floor for our stay because the maternity floor was full so we didn't have the same experience we will have this time. Plus, I would like to know if there are any special rules about young siblings we should know about in advance. I think I might tell MH that if he doesn't want to go, I'll go by myself.
PirateCat , we're doing a couple classes, mostly because I'm crazy. This weekend is a one day bootcamp about 45 minutes away, because I really wanted a "hippy" one. And then we're doing the ~4 week class at the hospital so I know what to expect from them. We also signed up for CPR, breastfeeding, and newborn care classes. And we're going to a free babywearing workshop.
I should note that the CPR and breastfeeding classes are free at the hospital if you do the class, so we are getting a deal there.
I'm so glad that I'm missing out on the snow some of you are getting- it usually hits us first, but we didn't get it this time. Stay safe and warm everyone!
I've been trying to decide if I want to do the hospital tour this time. I didn't last time, but we were in the main part of the hospital. This time, we'll be in the new mother baby center that's attached to the hospital and I kind of want to see it ahead of time. We visited my sister there but it wasn't in the regular recovery room area and I'd like to see the labor and delivery area too.
H went and picked up the arms reach co sleeper I found on Craigslist- it's bigger than I thought because I didn't realize the ones I've seen are minis, but it's in really good shape and it's neutral color. So happy to cross that off the list!

icedtea your list of classes is just like ours! Haha our April is going to be packed with classes and hypnobirthing starts Feb. 20! This Saturday we have a partner prenatal yoga class too (covers good stretches/positions for both pregnancy and labor).

I need to get my act together and start pulling tax documents out of my files. Usually I have everything ready by now, but no motivation this year. Our IVF bills are a mess, which isn't helping anything.
I wish we were getting a big snowstorm here. It's been a boring winter for the most part and you can see my dead brown grass poking through the snow.

PirateCat I'm signed up for my hospitals one day birth crash course, infant safety and CPR, newborn care, and breastfeeding class. I'm also considering ordering the homestudy class for hypnobabies.

The 4-week class at the hospital was pretty affordable and I might have considered doing what you're doing. Decisions, decisions.
rosesquared, my insurance is crap but I'll ask. I have to call about the breast pump anyway. And find out if they will cover a 32-week ultrasound, which they are recommending due to my age.

rosesquared I see my chiro biweekly but may need to move to weekly because I'm miserable by the end of two weeks. It's made such a difference. He did say he can normally help about 95% of pregnant women and the majority of them only need to see him a handful of times and they're good. I'm one of the ones who isn't so lucky and needs to keep going to avoid the debilitating pain (one of the downsides to being all baby..)
They just upped our forecast to be about a foot. They were calling for 3-7" yesterday, 5-9" this morning, and upped it about an hour ago to 12". I'm over this snow storm
Every time a storm like this happens I question my career choices since I have to go to work haha. Luckily only 4/11 patients showed up and we were able to push them all to the morning so I was able to leave by noon. 2 hour commute later.... I'm only 20% sure I was driving on a road for the second half of my drive, it was a complete white out even on the highway. I had to turn on my GPS just to find my street 😂 Happy to be home with DH and DS. Stay safe everyone up here in the blizzard!
