So as a reminder, I'm 28 weeks with mo/di spontaneous twins. So I get it. Of the twin options I'm of moderate risk of the already risky. However, had my Ob appt today and my Ob wants to schedule my c section now. He said we can always cancel it but A is breech now and these two have usually been transverse so basically he'd rather have something on the books. I guess that makes sense. But I'm also like. Damn. Give them a shot! It's still really early. Right?? It just kind of caught me off guard I guess.
As a bonus, I nailed my glucose test so that pleases me. About to reward my body with a serious breakfast of waffles and deliciousness.
Schedule it for when? My OB had me pick a date around 30 weeks - we planned for the 1st Monday after I hit 38 weeks. Spoiler - I didn't last that long. Haha Once my baby A turned from head down she never went back.

We put ours on the schedule at around the same time for 38 weeks. The dr. said we could always change it, but it meant we had something on the calendar. Do you have concerns about doing it?
Ok that makes me feel better. I just felt like it was really jumping the gun and made me feel like he'd end up pushing for the section. I want vaginal delivery and I'm also willing to let them go a week longer than he seems to want (he's wanting to take them no later than 37 weeks) but I'll do a section if A stays breech (obviously).
Scheduling that early would also let you schedule one of the first slots of the morning. By the time my OB got around to scheduling mine, I was scheduled for 3 in the afternoon! I would not have been a happy camper. I didn't make it that far, though.
Edit: I wound up eating 4 hours before my (emergency) section. It was not fun. I was starving ahead of time, and I was so sick after I couldn't hold my babies and I waited as long as possible to order dinner. I would not want to wait until middle of the afternoon without eating.
I have a c-section scheduled for Monday (38w3d for di/di twins). They're checking babies' positions by ultrasound before the c-section and if bottom baby is head down I'll get an induction instead. It's probably better to have it scheduled in case you need it. That way you can get the c-section first thing in the morning instead of afternoon since you can't eat for hours beforehand.

DVMmomma, I scheduled mine at 34 weeks for 38 weeks, however I ended up delivering at 36 weeks. One thing to keep in mind though is with my practice, once you elect for the CS and schedule it, that became my birth plan. So even if I spontaneously went into labor, I would still be having a CS. So if you are still hoping for vaginal, you might want to hold off on scheduling anything.

Oh really?? I'll ask about this when they call me with dates. Thanks!
My section was scheduled in the early 30's for 38w4d. (Di/Di IVF twins) Both of mine went breech in the late 20's and never flipped. My OB scheduled that early so I would be a) guaranteed to be the first delivery of the day (barring emergencies of course) and b) guaranteed to have her as my delivering doctor (there was one doctor in the practice I absolutely hated and did not want to deliver). I wound up having my girls at 37w6d (2 hours shy of the midnight/38w mark) via unscheduled C-section due to preeclampsia and a drop in my platelet count.
Although I was scheduled for a section, there was no "lock in" to that, that I am aware of. If my daughters had turned head down and I'd gone into labor on my own, I believe I would have been allowed to deliver vaginally.

I can't remember where you are delivering but I went to United. In triage the OB did a quick u/s to see if A was still breech. If she had been head down they would have let me deliver vaginally even though I was scheduled for a c section 3 weeks later.

Ok cool. If go into labor between now and 34 weeks I go to St. John's. After 34 weeks, woodwinds. I assume the c section will be scheduled at Woodwinds but I guess I'm not entirely sure.
We set my csection date for 38 weeks once I hit the 32 Weeks threshold for delivering at my local hospital since both babies were transverse. It was noted that we'd do an ultrasound before the section and if Baby A moved headdown section would ba cancelled and theyd start me o. Pitocin to induce.
