Yay! I was worried you would be snowed in!
Luckily no. Our NYC office employees are not as lucky. It was a cluster of people trying to figure out how to get home.

Happy Friday! I've just been working on the house. I have the twins overnight tonight, then tomorrow DH and I are going to a cyclones game that his work has paid for.
I can't believe I didn't check in at all yesterday. I did get a lot of packing done. Just going to haul boxes and furniture out this weekend and do some light cleaning. I'll probably pack up the rest of my kitchen on Sunday and do carryout and paper plates next week. Eek! Getting so close!

Some of my students will be singing the national anthem. We were going to go before H's trip got scheduled.
How often did you all pump? The 6-7 ounce pumps are gone. Now I'm mostly getting 4-5 but daycare insists babe needs 4 4 ounce bottles so I'm a little short of 16. I've tried pumping 4 times/ day versus 3. Doesn't seem to change the total ounces much. Maybe it will over time?

I'd stick with the 4, if you can. Maybe try a power pump on Sunday evening. Here's my giant paragraph of pumping tips that I keep on hand. I think I've told you a couple of these before, so feel free to disregard.
First check your flanges and most likely replace your membranes. There should be no areola going into the smaller section of the flange. Membranes should be replaced every couple of months and I have much better luck with Spectra vs Medela and they fit on my Medela flanges. Massage before and during pumping, if you have time, allow the pump to run for a couple of minutes after the flow of milk stops to signal your body to make more. You may even get another letdown. Hand express once you're finished with that and more milk will typically come out (there are great YouTube videos to learn to do it effectively). Look at photos or watch videos of your baby. I like to get nostalgic with old pictures and ignore the bottles and that helps a lot. If you want to get real weird, bring baby's jammies to smell. Weird, but it works. Hydrate, snack throughout the day and try to relax (haha).

I'm doing most of those things except the membranes and the baby smell. I'm getting the letdown but it's taking 20 minutes or so to fully empty. It's like I get 3 ounces in 5 minutes and then 1 more ounce in 10 minutes with compression and then I let the pump keep running. I don't have time to do as long of a session if I do 4 pumps though. I am also going to pump once each weekend morning and then I can fill shortfalls with that milk. I am inclined to tell them baby can just drink what I pump. I'm not convinced he needs 16 ounces.

16 ounces does seem like a lot for how short of a time he's away, but I'm not with him all day.

Tough call on 3 pumps or 4 in that case.
Some days he stretches his feedings out longer so I'm not convinced they're not still learning his wants. Just because he chews his hands doesn't mean he's still hungry. Just because he's still sucking when the bottle is empty doesn't mean he's still hungry. I know they're with him but I just feel like if that many ounces isn't coming out of me, he doesn't need that much.
