Nothing says love like your unclothed baby having a blowout all over your leg and hand while nursing.
But yay for Friday! H is only working a half day and I'm hoping we can go out to the zoo or something when he's off since it's been crazy nice and 70 all week.
LT for the nice weather, not the blowout thelittleredm. Hope you're able to get out and do something fun.
I'm a little bit irritated at DDs daycare. We're supposed to be following the public school system schedule for snow closings. Well, the public school has a two hour delay but our daycare decided to fully close. Ugh. I think the plan will be to send her to my parents house for a sleepover so I can at least get a nap in sometime today.
Fil came over this morning to entertain ds, thank god. I just dozed for an hour before dd woke up to feed. I'm still hiding up here cuddling her and will shower before I go down. He was suppose to go over to sil's to paint but at this point the inlaws have practically painted her whole house in addition to multiple other home projects and probably paid for everything so I don't care one bit that her bedroom isn't getting painted today. Figure that shit out yourself. I guess the plow took the door off her mailbox yesterday and she was freaking out about how to fix it. Um, you buy a new one for $20 or whatever and screw it back on to the post. Is bil that useless? Sleep deprivation rage.
So where is gripe water usually located in the grocery store: baby aisle or medicine aisle? Any brand preference?
I think that was dd's problem. She didn't want to eat and was much happier being held up right. She had some temporary relief after a couple burps but was fussy again within 30 minutes of each one. Also mega toots this morning.
She sucks at burping after a feeding too. Any advice on that? I usual put her on my shoulder for burping but have tried the holding the chin and leaning them forward one without any success. Ds always burped so I'm all wtf else can I do over here.
lakegirl , I used mommys bliss last night for the first time. It's in the baby aisle at our store. It says for 2 weeks and up, DD will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I only used a 1ml dose (2.5ml is standard) and she fussed for about 15 more mins before actually falling asleep from 330ish til 730. With the amount of poops she was having and a bunch of gas I think that was her main problem last night.
Definitely in need of a nap really badly today. DD went back to sleep after her morning feed, but of course I was up and had to eat and have my coffee bc i thought my friend would be here around 9, turns out shes not coming til 1030. I might regret that later, but still hoping she gives me another nice stretch this afternoon. If I can get a 2 hour nap this afternoon it may make up for only 4 hours of sleep.

We use little remedies, it's in the baby section. I don't give the full recommended dose but it does seem to help my little guy.
I burp him on my lap holding his chin but sometimes when he is stubborn I'll lay him over my knees to burp. The pressure on his belly from my knees helps push the gas out.
I missed one of DDs overnight pull-up diapers that must have made it into the hamper when I loaded the laundry this morning. There is diaper bead crap aaaaaall over the washing machine and the clothes in it. Fml.
B is a terrible burper too lakegirl. I have to hold him under his left armpit and sorta lengthen his torso out while I lean him to his left. That's the only way he'll burp, if he does. So bizarre.
Usually gripe water is in with the baby aisle stuff, not sure what brand is best.

ellabee, oh man that sucks. That happened to me once. Stupid ass diapers.
meeggaannw, so far it's pretty funny but kinda gross. I cover my eyes during nasty parts but it's funny enough that I'm now on episode two. I'm definitely intrigued.
lakegirl we picked up some gas drops the other day and it has helped. L swallows so much air because he just can't handle my letdown, so gas has been an issue here too.

The worst. DD1 once had a blowout poop while she was nursing in football hold, it ended up getting all over the pottery barn rocker we bought. That chair has never been the same.

Speaking of gripe water, I just noticed a couple little black spots on baby's tongue. Google tells me it could be thrush or from gripe water. Thrush would be painful for me while nursing right? I don't have any pain so thrush doesn't seem likely.
We watched a few episodes and I was like wtf is this?!?!
It's definitely weird and not style at all. But I need entertainment. I promised Dh I wouldn't watch shameless without him. Anyone have any tv recs?
I was kinda interested but couldn't get over how gross and the vomiting in the first episode yuck. H keeps telling me to watch west world. I've really only been watching guilty pleasure tv like housewives and teen mom.

If you have Hulu they just put the 2nd season of UnReal on. It's terrible and trashy but it's a guilty pleasure. I also loved Nashville, could be because of Connie Britton from Friday night lights, and they have all the seasons plus the newest season that's airing now.

H has hockey tonight so it will be a long long day. I got a decent amount of sleep but may nap in the afternoon. I noticed over the week E has been drooling a lot. No idea why. I have to go through her clothes today find more 0-3 month onesies for her to wear.

Hope the day goes well for you without yh around, you got this! How old is she now? I think starting around 3 months is when drooling amps up, not sure how that works for preemie adjusted age tho.

I agree with everything that has been stated about the Santa Clarita Diet. I was intrigued in the beginning but by the end of the episode I decided it's not my style. Mh likes it and will probably finish watching it without me.
I feel slightly recharged after my break. I want to go to the store but I'm flying too close to nap time now. I'll just get everything prepped and run out after ds wakes up.
Thanks for the weird burping position suggestions, I'll be trying them out today!

heybulldog56, If you like western based shows, Netflix has Hell On Wheels and it's a really good series. So is Longmire. As is Justified but that's on Amazon.
I'm currently watching Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, HTGAWM, The Bachelor, New Girl, Modern Family, Bones, and The Mindy Project on Hulu.
Another season of Reign just started but you have to watch it on the CW's site for the current season but Netflix has all the previous ones.

B has not slept for long her than 20 minutes since waking up at 7:00. This better mean longer stretches of sleep tonight because I am getting crankier and crankier without a nap.
