I'm buying booster seats for the first time and need help. I decided on a Diono Monterey for the car she rides in 98% of the time and wanted a backless booster for the other car.
I was going to get the Diono Solana because we've been so happy with our Diono Radians. I assumed it would have the same LATCH connectors as the Radian (the type where you just shove them in to the LATCH and they unhook with the press of a button. Our Chicco Keyfit base had them too) but instead it has the hook style connectors that I hate.
Is there a backless booster that has the LATCH connectors that I mentioned above? I know LATCH isn't as important with a booster, but it seemed like a good idea to keep the seat in place. This seat will get removed a lot so I don't want to deal with the hook style ones. I looked up Britax boosters and I couldn't find a backless booster made by them, and couldn't figure out from the Chicco or Graco booster descriptions if it had them or not. Does one like this exist or are hooks my only choice? Thanks in advance.
LATCH is only good through 40 lbs combined of kid and seat. Most boosters don't have it because kid alone is generally 40 lbs at that point. Just the seatbelt is recommended.

My understanding is that there is no weight limit for LATCH with boosters, because the car's seatbelt is bearing the weight of the kid (just like it does with a seatbelted adult) and the LATCH is only holding the booster seat. In a harnessed seat, the kid is harnesssed to the seat so LATCH is bearing the weight of seat + kid.
I had heard that in addition to the projectile issue, LATCH on a booster was helpful for keeping the seat from sliding out of place so I thought I'd get one with that feature.
regal I forgot about Clek brand seats, I will check those out, thanks!
