So so happy to hear how well he's doing. Sounds like he's made leaps and bounds in just a day! I'm glad you got to hold and nurse him. I hope he gets to come home soon. Love to you all.

Just another update. Because I'm full of them...
They moved his IV to his head. So there's that. Now holding him and nursing him is weird but he seems happier. He kept messing with the hand and foot versions of the IV.
And he should be off the antibiotics on the 20th. FX he's also done with the oxygen because that would mean he can come home. But he has to be off the oxygen for 2-3 days before they'll release him. So who knows...
He's eating a lot more, which is a great sign. I saw a lactation consultant today and she confirmed the nasal cannula may be getting in the way. But he's a great nurser!

His oxygen is down to 1 liter! For reference, that's basically a whisper so practically nothing! FX he tolerates it and they can take him off the oxygen! Then, the 2 day count would begin for him to be released!
I'm praying he's home this week, but we'll see. It's all about him tolerating the O2 decreases.

C ripped his nasal cannula off... And they're leaving it off!!! I've never seen my son without a tube on his body, and the pics MH just sent me are so beautiful. FX he can tolerate being off the oxygen and come home this week!
Yes, MH had to make a late night NICU run to deliver more milk. Apparently my son is a bruiser - he's eating every 90 minutes!!!

He handled no oxygen pretty well!!! They're hoping to keep him off it and *possibly* send him home tomorrow!!!! They're doing the circumcision today, which is a good sign - they believe he can handle it.
But we're cautiously optimistic. There's always a chance he'll have to go back on the oxygen. For now, they're planning to send him home tomorrow!
