monicageller good luck today! Hope it's smooth sailing for you and baby.
@shellbwll I hope it's a great first day! This will be very intimidating to me, but I'm sure it will be second nature in no time.
staz hooray for some contraction action! It sounds like you need something positive to focus on, hope that baby is working it's way out soon for you🤗
I swear my body is doing nothing. Today is the day I gave birth last time around, 39w1d. I had some backachey type cramps on Saturday then nothing again. Not one blip of MP etc. I give up on the warning signs...I just don't wanna be 41.5 weeks with no signs of labor trying to induce from 0cm. That's all I ask body, is for you to try a little..gimme a sign.
Everyone at work this morning: "You're STILL HERE???"
Obviously yes. Now kindly piss off.
Yeah when you walk in the door with a blimp belly and ppl say-no baby?! Wtf of course no baby. Shoulda prepared something more interesting to say orrrr just say nothing thanks.
But still better than MIL who still keeps asking me to change the baby's name so it's 6 letters and commenting on how big this baby is gonna be because-obviously look at my belly-and telling me what day to have her. The same interaction for like 4 months...I'm living a terrible recurring nightmare.
shellbell, You can do it! I hope they behave for you.
nomnom, I'm sorry about the c section news. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that they flip into place at the last minute and you get your vbac after all!
monicageller, BABY DAY!!! Wishing you a smooth and uneventful induction!
flyinghorses6, Sorry for the lack of sleep. G always only slept on me for the first 1-2 months and I remember how exhausting that was. FX that she lets you transition her to someplace else soon!
cosmicav, hang in there. I think I might start walking around flipping everyone off all the time if I were subjected to that bull. You have my sympathies.
I've got laundry going, dishes going, and plans to sweep/ vacuum/ swiffer the floors. Also going through the fridge and taking stock of what we might need in the event this little lady decides to actually come out this week. I plan on scheduling an induction today at my appt, along with having a membrane sweep, but I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that. The sooner the better at this point. I think A and G are getting a bit tired of me smothering them with hugs and snuggles in my attempt to savor these last few days with just them.
nomnom, sorry it wasn't the news you were hoping for.
monicageller, I hope things go smoothly today! Yay for baby!
We are hanging at home for the morning. Then trying to run some errands before picking up DS1. DS2 managed one 3 hour stretch and then a 2 hour stretch in the pnp. I've given up on night time bassinet sleeping DH is exhausted and it's making him extra grumpy. I don't know what to do for him. He got like this after DS1 too. I forget how hard it is for the dads sometimes.

My DD was so well behaved this morning when I had the two of them by myself. I complimented her and she was so proud of herself. I managed to feed and dress her and send her off to school - I'm counting it as a win.
cosmicav all my sympathies for idiot comments coming your way. The last day at work, this lady came up to me and shouted "you're not going to make it!!!" Uhhhh... what? Like, am I about to die or something?.
I am laughing because I have been told that too; what is with people? Such a weird comment "You're not going to make it!" Apparently I am on my death bed, looking next level rough or something LOL

We finally figured out names!!! We already had our boy name because we've had to since DD1 and never had to use it, but didn't have a a girl name and now we have 2! I caught DH in a naming mood I guess and we agreed on 2 we both like so he can pick which one he thinks suits when he sees baby if it's a girl. Now watch it be a boy after all that aggravation to get him to cooperate.
I got the kitchen cleaned, and we were out the door slightly ahead of schedule to go to story time. I got my free bagel and a latte, and there were no meltdowns from anyone.
LO has been sleeping all morning. I'll probably regret that this afternoon. Or tonight.

I just made Valentine's Day cards for DS1 to take to school tomorrow. I'm clearly lacking activities because I thought of an idea and actually made them. Even more, they actually look good! What is happening to me? (Side not, crafting in not my forte at all.) DS2 has been napping and eating since we took DS1 to school.

My great grandma gave us pudding wth our lunch today because she thought DS was going to get tired of applesauce. Because, you know, pudding and applesauce are clearly the same food group. Lol

flyinghorses6 we just got home from the chiropractor and lactation consultant. My nipples are scabbed and bruised too. She said to rinse with saline and apply polysporin to them after every feeding. I've also had really bad engorgement issues and she's having me empty both breasts once to try to reset my supply. I hope you can get some relief soon.
@monicagellar good luck today! I hope you're holding your sweet baby soon

I've taken to using a napkin as a blanket when nursing DS and simultaneously trying to eat lunch. The amount of food I've dropped on his head is staggering. Also why I'm eating un-heated food.
Small victory!!! G is up 6oz and now weighs 6lbs even! O is 5lbs 13.5 oz up 3.5oz!! Follow up weight check next Monday. Also got a new formula for her to try...FX this doesn't make her super gassy/fussy again.

Update: I finally started to feel the contractions and then they got increasingly uncomfortable to where I asked for the epi. So I just got it and I'm feeling much better and nurse says I'm 5cm and fully effaced.
Coworker asked about if my cervix was dilated today. I said "i don't know" because ummm we are not that close, lady. She says, "do they not do checks anymore these days? When I was pregnant, they used to check. You should make them check!"

Yep I lost it already. I cried in the nursery day 5 of baby's life.
My mom and dad come to visit which, great, I usually love visitors but DD is sick so she's whiny and throwing tantrums and the baby wants to feed all the time so now there's 4 adults in the house (me, nanny, my mom and my dad) and somehow I still have to do everything?
If you visit late afternoon / early evening please realize kids need to eat and bathe so if you're not picking up a kid and doing one of these things you're in the fucking way.
