So I was down in the basement last night trying to get my cupcake carrier. Apparently I knocked over an exercise ball which hit the emergency off switch on the furnace. It was 57 degrees in the house when we woke up. Whoops.

My husband sets our thermostat to 55 at night, and on the weekends he builds a fire in the basement woodstove and shuts off the furnace. It regularly gets down to the low 50s in our bedrooms. I hate it.

OMG I would die. I was so cold and that was with DS glued to my side and the cat curled up on my belly. If this were a regular occurrence I would have to consider letting the beast in the bed.

We are going to my FILs house this weekend. I get to spend my birthday with people who are very outspoken in their political opinions and which are DRASTICALLY different than mine. I usually survive by drinking but I can't even do that now.

My condolences. I refuse to see my FIL while pregnant because 1. I have no filter and 2. Cannot drink to survive. Can you become drastically tired and "sleep" aka watch Netflix and binge on ice cream? I'm really sorry. What a horrible way to spend your birthday.

thanks. I'm planning to use the toddler as an excuse as much as possible. Oh no, it's time for his nap, better go back to the hotel and put him down, husband please feel free to stay here and socialize we'll be back when he wakes up.

That is like excessively cold. We have a wood burning boiler, no supplemental heat, and the upstairs is easily 70* (except our room-3 outside walls and above the garage). How does everyone stay asleep with it that cold??
Our bedrooms are above the garage, so they don't get the heat from the basement and our house is pretty spread out (2200 sq ft ranch) where the stove is on the other side of the house, and our insulation is literally a sheet of aluminum between the walls (built in the 50's). Combine that with Northeast Ohio weather, and we freeze our little tails off. The rooms above the stove stay in the 70-mid 80s. The bedrooms just don't get any heat.
My husband is always hot and he doesn't realize how cold it is to me and our 25lb 20month old, so she and I just leave. Then he gets pouty and stops having the fire for a few weeks then starts again. Rinse and repeat.
@pianolove, we're hoping to finish our attic into bedrooms and I'll be having the thermostat moved so the heat runs with the fire, instead of thinking the house is 80 when it's not even close in other rooms. H would love to get the stove integrated into the furnace so the heat blows through the whole house, we just haven't done it yet. I think we'd need a bigger stove for that, but it seems like a good way to make us all happy.

I just got invited to a baby shower at work. I don't think I've actually met the woman but I have been wanting to meet more people so I'm just bringing a small gift. Is it weird to go if I don't know her?
Does anyone else have an anterior placenta/had one in the past?
Will I ever feel "big" movements? He is also breech, which doesn't help. I'm sad, because I felt movement so early, but all I feel are flutters still. I want to feel him move more regularly! This doesn't help the PgAL brain.

I had an anterior placenta last time. I don't recall feeling anything at all until after 20 wks (but I may be remembering wrong). It wasn't until I was much further along that the movements were very clear, because he was so much bigger and space was becoming less and less for him.
I don't know yet this time if it's anterior again, but I've been feeling lots of flutters lately, which I never felt at all last time.

It's so weird, I've felt flutters since 13ish weeks and I've always found his heartbeat with a Doppler. Since 9weeks. But still no big movements. It makes me sad!

MissSally same here! I haven't felt her tons and I really, really want to! I'll feel almost a "pop" and little wiggles here and there but it's not as prominent as I thought it would be. I'm just super excited to get to see her for the anatomy US tomorrow!!!

I had an anterior placenta last time and didn't feel "real" movement until after 20 weeks. And I never felt like big, painful kicks that some people talk about.

I had an AP last time. I didn't feel kicks until 21 weeks, but H could feel them at 22 weeks and could see my stomach jump a bit. I definitely felt big jabs etc in 3rd tri but early on I rarely felt rolls. When I started doing kick counts I never had an issue
Anatomy scan is this week!!! On the 16th. I'm so excited. 😁 This is the first time we're doing Team Green though so I'm nervous the tech might slip up and spill the beans. Also, I am finally feeling consistent kicks, which eases my worries. I'm savoring each kick.

I don't think it would be weird, especially if you just brought something small. Is there a way to introduce yourself before the shower happens, or is that impossible? (Not sure if you all are on different floors, etc)
It's a big building ~500 people and she works on the complete other side in the warehouse. I've only had to go there once for actual work. I decided to go. I heard from some other woman that she doesn't know many people because her job is very solitary and she's isolated most of the day so it sounds like meeting people is one of the goals of the shower! Perfect! I'm excited now. About 30% of that excitement is for cup cakes. 😁

I have one AP and one PP with the twins. I can feel the twin with the pp more.
Exactly what @katerli said. I am starting to feel the baby with the AP, but I've felt a ton more movement with the PP twin.
