We're all fighting colds while trying to finish packing up our house. Closing is Wednesday, the professional cleaner comes Thursday and we have to hand over the keys on Friday. Starting to get stressed even though I feel like we're pretty well on top of things.
DD was an emotional mess over the weekend and as expected it was way worse this morning because she knew Daddy was going to be leaving for another work trip. I wonder if it was such a good idea to even tell her he was going to go; maybe our weekend would have been much more enjoyable if we sprung the news on her at the last minute? She says she is going to behave for me this week but I am worried about the clinginess that is going to ensue. LO on the other hand, has been totally fine, so far.
Ah, how exciting, dogmama22! Good luck this week, and feel better!
We came home from dinner last night to a house without power. The website said the ETA on restoration was 7:45. So we put DS to bed, and waited, and waited... power was out until about 2 a.m. Luckily, it wasn't that cold last night, so our house got to about 64 at its coldest, and we left our door open, so I'm fairly certain DS slept like a champ through that. I did not. I don't know what it is about not having power, but I couldn't feel settled until it came back on if that makes sense. So I'm drinking all the coffee this morning.
Also, I put the chicken in the crock pot that had been in our fridge, and everyone in my house drank milk this morning. H checked the fridge and freezer (which were both never opened through whole 8-9 hours we didn't have power) when it came on and said the fridge still seemed pretty cold and everything in the freezer was still frozen, so fingers crossed on that one, I guess.
Morning! E had a bad morning and cried through everything we did. He just wanted to be held and didn't want me more than a few feet away. I wonder if something is up? I'm trying to cross things off my to do list at work as fast as I can because I just have a feeling that I'll get a call saying he's sick or something. I hate this feeling. Just need to finish pumping and then go be productive!

Today is going to be a whirlwind, but I just need to get through it. Even with working all weekend I'm behind in what I need to get out today, and I need to leave early to pick up the balloons before picking the boys up for baseball practice.
Then tonight I need to pick up the pictures for BH's teacher gift, make strawberries to bring in for LBB's Valentine's party, and make pancakes for breakfast tomorrow.
I am also fighting a cold, but I get to leave work at 4 every day this week because I have to come in for a meeting on Friday. I'm looking forward to the 1hr+ of alone time before H and C get home each night!
Morning! Everyone was still sleeping this morning when I left for work, so there were no fits. I even had time to stop and grab breakfast from Starbucks this morning.
Does anyone else's LOs get constipated when they are teething? This happens to us all the time, and M was just a crying mess until last night until close to bedtime, when he finally started to feel better. DH was at a loss on how to comfort him, so he took it upon himself to refill my wine glass from about 5 pm on. Needless to say, I think I drank my weight in wine last night so today at work should be fun haha.
tjanca22 , we've had a couple mornings lately where DS is super clingy and whiny. I remember two weeks ago Monday being particularly bad, he was basically melting down. Apparently after I left day care, he was a super happy, silly boy. It could be separation anxiety if he knows that the end goal is mommy is leaving, especially with the change of baby sister being here now. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that he's having a good day!
ETA, just saw budders' post - how scary, hope V is ok!

opposite problem here when teething! He goes way too much!
Jules fell face first into the wall last night and has a HUGE bruise on her forehead. And I was up most of the night with a horrible cough. We were supposed to meet friends today but have to skip because of my sick.

budders I hope V is okay! DD was having a major meltdown at nap time yesterday and climbed up INTO the attached changing table on her crib (so she's standing about 3-4 feet off the ground) to try to get to me (I had left the room). She's also busted her lip open while doing so and was bloody mess when I raced in to get her down. Single scariest moment of parenting yet.
Today is my H's bday so my day started with morning sexy. Not complaining.

budders Hope he is okay!! B tries to walk down without holding on too, I hate it!
Yesterday was the first time I ever opened a bottle of wine and had some while home alone. I went to a birthday party for our niece and nephew and I can't handle going when MIL is there. DD1 is such a good, well behaved kid but I don't even know her when we are there. It used to just be about MIL giving her too much junk food despite me asking her to stop, but it's so much worse now. A doesn't listen to a word I say, yanks toys away from her sister and tells me to go away, she only likes grandma. She had AT LEAST 7 cookies, cake, 2 lollipops and juice, because every time I'd turn my back MIL was loading her up with more. I even heard her saying "Don't tell mommy..." I can't even put her in time out because last time I did that, Grandma came and picked her up and off they went for another cookie. I get that these are minor problems but it drives me crazy and I told DH that I'm not going to any family events anymore unless he's around. I also was asked for the duration of the day when I plan on going back to work.
Sorry for the vent (and all of them lately)... It's a new week and things are looking up. DH is home in a few days, the weather is warmer, and we are flying to Paris Saturday!
sugarkissed at that point, I'd say in the future, he can take the kids himself to family events while you enjoy some quiet time alone. And keep them the rest of the day because heck no to being there for the sugar crash. I understand grandparents wanting to give special treats, but that is so over the top, it's ridiculous.

Thanks for the support ladies, it's reassuring to know that I'm not completely crazy. Part of the problem is that I'm not confrontational at all, but they know that it bothers me.
The wine was delicious though, for what it's worth.

Poor V! I hope he does ok today at daycare budders.
sugarkissed, this sounds like my MIL but on crack. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, and I second letting your H take the kids while you get some needed alone time! :::pours a glass of wine:::
Shaping up to be a very normal week here. I double booked myself for Thursday morning, so I have to skip MOPS for a budget mtg (booo). My busy season is here. I planted pepper seeds the 4th, and I need to plant 300 tomato seeds this week and next. I'm trying to decide if we're raising turkeys this year. I don't raise a lot (15 last time), but they barely break even.
Mom was super tired from chemo yesterday, and probably today, so T and I are heading out to help with chores before naptime.

budders, I was typing up BH's 20 month update last night, and took a look at LBB's to compare. LBB was doing the same thing with the stairs at this age. I have a note that at that time, I started going down the stairs in front of him to catch him when he fell.
sugarkissed, I'm very "let the grandparents spoil the kids" but that's too much even for me. If they can't respect your parenting when you're right there, then I wouldn't bring the girls around. Especially without your husband.
budders I'm so sorry. You probably remember this story but I had a friend's 18 month old fall down my entire flight of basement stairs and break her leg. It was fairly obvious something was wrong for quite some time. I'm not saying that to worry you, and I hope it brings some comfort. I understand the feeling sucks and I cried for 3 days after. L is a confident and independent stair climber too but there's always a twinge of nerves in the back of my mind at this age after that. pghtruelove hope yours is feeling ok too!!
sugarkissed glad you got to have some wine! Also eek to leaving on your trip right away!!!
DS and I got his Valentine's written up this morning. He got way more into it that I thought he would understand so that was sweet. He tried writing his name on every single one and then made one for himself at the end haha. I'm so excited I just happened to be scheduled as parent helper for their party tomorrow! We are very much looking forward to the gorgeous week ahead and I plan on spending a lot of time outside this week! And H is on winter break next week sothe countdown is on, yay!
Guess who got the call from daycare to come pick up their kid. Yep, E threw up. Poor kid! We've been home for a couple of hours watching MMC. He just ate a waffle, lets hope it stays in him.

Aww, poor guy! That mama instinct is strong. Hope it passes quickly for him.

I knew it was inevitable that we'd get hit with the flu. It was only a matter of time. I'm just glad it's this Monday and not next Monday when he has ear tubes surgery scheduled!
