sgio7485 hope you and Leo are both feeling better! littlelion fx for a smoother drop off at DC for you guys today. ourcrazynavylife first of all- not at all unreasonable! That sounds like additional stress you don't need just 1 week pp. And second of all, that quilt is adorable!
Finally checking in after a busy (but fun) weekend. Dh and I had a date night Friday- a partner yoga class up at my yoga studio. So much fun. Saturday morning we decided to go to the zoo. It wasn't too cold and we wanted to do something fun with lo. It ended up being perfect. There was hardly anyone there and lo was excited to see the animals. He even ran up to the glass to "hug" a penguin. Sunday we babysat a friend's 8 month old for a couple of hours and then went out to dinner. Lo wasn't sure what to make of having to share with the baby. He's going to have a rough time if we decide to try for #2. Today I have to grocery shop with lo since we ran out of time this weekend. Plus the usual laundry mountain (even though I did laundry Saturday and Sunday.)
Have a ton of shopping to do. Already dropped DH off at the airport this morning, now waiting for LO to wake up. Have to make a Target run and go to the grocery store. I'm sure we can get it done before nap time, I'm just afraid of her behavior. She's certainly hit the "terrible two's" stage - Goody.
I told our realtor we're going to pass on the house. They had so many people look at this one house on Saturday, they cancelled all showings on Sunday and requested all offers by 10 pm Sunday evening. They had 21 offers the first day. I told our realtor I felt like a tiny fish in a big ocean and I just know I'm going to get eaten up. We'll keep our eyes open, and he's willing to go to houses and facetime me a "virtual" tour.

Morning! +1 for going to the grocery store today. ashlantic drop off went good, no tears! raven house hunting in your area sounds brutal. Hug your LO extra hard these days. Terrible two's plus new baby is so hard on them (& us!).

Leo has a valentines day party tomorrow. I signed up to bring something but don't know what. Ppl already had cookies, cupcakes, fruit gummies, apple sauce...
littlelion Yep, it's the best school district in the state in a fast growing part of Denver. Not a lot of houses and too many buyers right now. Also, maybe goldfish or teddy grahams? If dunkaroos were still a thing, I'd say that.

Thanks ashlantic I'm trying to be semi reasonable. I just don't want her here right after he's born but she wants to come before my husband starts the academy on may 15
Omg, not enough nap time this weekend has caught up to us. We got back from grocery shopping an hour and a half ago and so far he's thrown 6 fits. As soon as he's done with lunch he's going to bed.
raven sorry the housing market is so crazy for you guys out there. It sounds like your realtor is a good one though, so hopefully something works out! littlelion cheese sticks? Crackers? Glad drop off went well! ourcrazynavylife I get it. Would it be possible for her to stay at a hotel so she can come visit but not be all up in your space?
Thanks ashlantic! Still pretty crummy for me. LO seems a little better, although this combo of prednisone and albuterol seem to be making him cray cray.

ashlantic No because $$. She already has to buy a cross country plane ticket.
I think I came up with a good compromise after sleeping on it last night.
My cousin (basically my sister) was supposed to come around Memorial Day weekend. But, I asked her to come around my guess date instead so my MIL can come that weekend.
I would much rather have my cousin here when I'm going into labor than my MIL. And I feel like a month ish post partum is a good amount of time to be a tolerable human being and potentially even want to leave my house.
Ugh. What a Monday. Found out dh has another week long international trip. At least I have a month and a half notice instead of just a week like last time. So yay? Lo was a huge crab today. Hopefully he's in a better mood tomorrow. I'm ending the day with chocolate ice cream and the Bachelor. Ahhhhh.
Had my 29 week appt this morning and got my tdap shot. I must give off some weird vibe that makes Drs think I have a fear of needles because I always get asked if they need to bring in other nurses to help hold me down. Oh wells. Next appt in 2 weeks.
DD has been refusing to wear real shoes, just these slippers my parents got her for Christmas. I think it's because she can put the slippers on by herself. Yesterday, she got yogurt all over them, and I had to wash them. She threw a fit last night because they were not available to wear. Today, I went to Walmart and got her 2 more pairs. I shall be better prepared for next time lol.
Nothing going on this evening. DH is out of town on business so nothing cutesy for me. I'm thinking of making chicken and rice just because I'm tired of eating out and my IL's make some weird shit. I grew up on a much different menu - more homey/pioneer style.
ashlantic LO was a nutball yesterday too. Then, today, she just stopped me mid-diaper change, said "Hi" and gave me the longest hug. *sigh* Damn she's cute and so sweet. Advanced notice on those kinds of trips are always helpful. DH used to get international trips sprung on him last minute at his previous job. I absolutely hated it. They sent him to Mongolia less than a week after our wedding, and we never went on our honeymoon. (They laid him off shortly after that, money allocated to priorities.) I'm still bitter, not gonna lie.
No big Valentines over where either. My sweet H handed me a card before he left for work this morning. My response "oh fuck! We are doing that?" He's so lucky to have me.

Went to Leo's valentines day party today. I helped him decorate a heart cookie and make a card for papi. It was more difficult than I anticipated holding Alex. But it was nice to participate.
Leo refused to wear a red shirt today. This was the next best thing.
I made a chicken and rice bake, apple crisp, and chocolate covered strawberries for my IL's as a thank you for putting up with us for so long. It was a hit and there is no chicken or rice left. I'm thinking some apple crisp for lunch sounds really delicious.
Nothing really exciting planned today. It's going to be a nice day so we'll go for a walk and hit up the playground while we're out. I've been feeling really sluggish and tired a lot lately. I'm hoping some fresh air and natural vitamin D will do me some good. I've never been an indoor exerciser; I prefer the outdoors. (I get it from my dad. He's climbed Mt. Whitney 20+ times, all 4 sides.)
ourcrazynavylife How sweet of him! I love sneaky surprises. DH is out of town, but I told him I got him a card anyway. He tells me "I didn't get you one, and I'm not going to buy you one." Ahh romance lol
(I'm not mad, could care less about a card. Just found it funny.)

This is supposed to be the week I hear back on that job. Obsessively checking my phone for a rejection email and have reached peak annoyance level for DH. Fx I hear one way or another really, really soon. Too distracted to be a good internet friend ATM. :/

I ordered prints of Alex and sat down to organize his album. 30 min later and I'm still looking at Leo's album. Reliving his birth, his outfits, all his 1st holidays...cue all the tears.
raven I can't imagine dealing with all those last minute trips. That sounds so stressful! kcrus we didn't even exchange cards. He was going to stop and get one on the way home, but left work late and figured it'd just be better to get home as quick as possible. So much romance up in here. laceysbryan hugs, waiting is the worst! I hope you hear back either way. Teacher interviews were the worst, I rarely heard back from them. Thanks guys. Keeping my fx for good news for you!! littlelion you're so good about staying on top of pictures! We have some framed of lo, but I have yet to make an album or anything. They're not even sorted in my computer, just dumped in a big folder labeled by year. Yikes! ourcrazynavylife your picture wouldn't load at first and I was really hoping it was a picture of Em and not an actual bug. Lol
Today is the first day of watching the 2 year old little girl. It's going well so far. Lo seems to be getting along with her for the most part, aside from yanking toys out of each other's hands, but that's to be expected. It's hard to believe she's the same age as lo- he's in the 9th percentile for height and she's in the 99th, so she towers over lo.

ashlantic how's the kon mari going? I did a few cabinets and some of the pantry the other day. I need to go do my closets...it'll help me find clothes I can wear!
All I've been wearing are leggings, tank tops and some of my maternity shirts. Need work outfits. I go back next Thursday.
