Got ready for work this morning, got to daycare to drop the kiddos off...and DS2 barfed all over the place. YAY.
So, left the other two kids, turned around and came home. I am now "working from home" to the best of my ability with a 2 year old around. He's pretty chill and he's not acting sick at all. DH called a few minutes ago as well to tell me he's coming home b/c he doesn't feel well either. If I have to take care of my child and a man-child today, I may need wine to cope. DH doesn't have this stomach thing though, he has a pretty bad cold - it sounds like a sinus infection.
Both kids refused sleep last night. DS finally fell asleep around 1130 and DD at midnight. She then proceeded to sleep until 730. DS on the other hand was up and down all night. Imma need lots of coffee today. I'm not taking them to playgroup because DS doesn't really deserve to go. He's being a total jackass this morning, likely because he's tired. He had two more looseish poops last night, but to me still look like his teething poop. His new thing is saying his tummy is sick (even when he's fine otherwise). Methinks he heard some kid at daycare say it and get extra attention (they have a GI thing going around).
ksyknelvr73 ugh. The worst. T&Ps for you today. MH has a sinus thing going on too, but after his last cold where the Man Flu was in full effect he's toning it down this time. His cough is quite possibly the worst sound in the world to me though. @snuff9861 DS1 had the stomach flu last spring and for awhile everything was "but my belly hurts a little bit." I have an irrational fear of puking so it was terrible trying to discern if I needed to worry or not. 🙄
We're at the pediatrician waiting for DS2's 4 month check up. I dropped DS1 off at daycare on the way here and will drop DS2 after his appt. I have some "work from home" things I need to do on the computer, which is annoying because crap internet and I'm only going to be an employee for 2 more weeks. 🙄 Still in excitement mode over my new job though!

Also "my thing." All nurses have it right? Some can't handle eyes, some resp secretions, others poop. Mine is vomit. I cannot handle hearing, smelling or seeing puke. DS puked on me about a month ago and I started gagging in my mouth. The worst.

Also...still waiting to hear about the job I interviewed for last Tuesday. They said they would have a decision early this week and to me, early means by now. I'm so impatient.

ksyknelvr73, Ugh, my DH being sick is the worst. Hope he stays out of your hair. Hope you hear about the interview. I also agree, "early" in the week means Mo/Tu. becole GL at the doc, wondering the same as britta. britta I missed you got the job! Congrats darling!
Was also late to work this morning, DS was overly fussy about his diaper, his bottle, and his outfit change. And was fine once in the car. I officially hate his sleep regression, I can't fall asleep in between wake ups and I'm feeling nauseously tired today as a result. Anyone know if you can take melatonin on top of Zoloft? Or while BFing should be my first question? I hate waiting to hear back from the OBGYN's office, unless you're preg, they almost never get back to you.
I am at work and shopping online right now because DS desperately needs clothes. He's not really fitting into his 3-6 month separates anymore and I really don't have enough in 6-9 or 6-12 month. He's in 6-12 month footie pajamas, but 6-9 month separates. Except some 6-9 month pants are too loose in the waist, but perfect in length. Ugh.
I'm going to the doc to discuss my thyroid/ weight/ hand tingling, etc...
Do you have known thyroid problems? Or checking to make sure it's not a problem?
No.
Tl, dr: I've always had normal tsh levels but a lot of symptoms of hypothyroid. My mom has thyroid and kidney issues. I was talking to my gf about how my weight stays the same post baby, she mentioned that her tsh is normal but she went to an endocrinologist and they test a bunch of other things. She asked if I was anemic bc that can cause it to be off and I mentioned my pp hemorrhage. She said that could have a lot to do with it so I made an appt with who she sees. She was actually having trouble getting pregnant and this lady figured out she has hashimotos even with normal tsh. She recommends my friend go gluten free and it brings her body to normal and she got pregnant. Anyway... long story but I've never been checked other than a tsh screen. So here we are.
ETA: im also wondering for those thyroid experts out there if it's worth testing right now or if breast feeding hormones throw it off and if there is even medication safe for me to take while Bf...

You need free T3 and T4 levels drawn.
ETA: Pretty sure you can take Synthroid while BFing. Paging penguin129

Good morning!
MH made a nice dinner last night, which I ate in shifts because G was so fussy. I figured I'd let MH tap out with G and deal with N when we got home. N had a Valentine's Day party at school yesterday and was so excited to see what goodies he got. I was so excited when his teacher told me he stayed on his cot at naptime and participated in the group things (he usually doesn't). G fussed almost the whole evening, but went to bed with no issues.
So G is back to normal this morning, seeing as he was just waking up when I was leaving for work. MH told me that everyone is being good, and G was asleep in his swing. Yesterday MH could not put G down anywhere without him screaming. Tonight, MH is going to a local accepted student reception like the one I did on Monday, so I am meeting him at the venue to switch cars and kids. MH mentioned to me that burritos are $5 at Moe's tonight due to the UConn women's basketball team winning 100 games in a row so I need to decide if we're going to go tonight for that or tomorrow like we normally would when MH works.

No plans this morning. We've been busy the last 2 days and not home much, somehow the house is a disaster (as it is almost all the time these days).
Not sure if I'm bringing DD to preschool this afternoon. DH is buying a new motorcycle and was going to go pick it up Friday but the guy said he has two other guys interested. DH doesn't want to miss out so he said he'd come today. It's 1.5 hours away. We have a trailer for the bikes but it's an event to get them tied up, so DH just wants to ride back. It's nice out and other than a our back alley the roads are clear of snow. It just gets dark by 6 and I don't want him riding in the dark. So we'll probably head out as soon as DH is back from work (around 230). DS is thankfully over his freaking out in the car phase, so it should be a nice drive. DD loves keeping him entertained until he falls asleep.
I can't wait to ride my bike. Waiting for all the snow to melt and it get a bit warmer before insuring it again. I didn't insure it last year since I didn't ride at all while pregnant.

ksyknelvr73, the stomach bug is the worst. I hope your DS feels better soon, and YH is not that sick. I also hope you hear back about the job soon. becole, good luck with your appointment. @snuff9861, N will say his tummy is sick when he's hungry sometimes. When he actually had the stomach bug, he told me that and I didn't believe him. He then threw up all over the living room, and I felt like crap for not believing him. britta, I was wondering when you were starting. Two weeks; so exciting! macaronmama, I'm not sure if melatonin is safe to take with Zoloft. Hopefully your OB will get back to you soon. I'm sorry about the crazy morning.
macaronmama for sure consult your physician if that would make you feel comfortable, but I'm almost 100% sure you can take Melatonin with Zoloft. I was a nurse manager in a nursing home/rehab center for a minute and had a lot of my elderly residents on SSRIs and Melatonin. I'm also fairly sure it's ok for BFing, as it's a naturally occurring chemical in the body anyway.

becole I'm on a fair dose of thyroid medication for hashi and its fine for BF. They did tell me to call them if my supply tanked because they might need to decrease my dosage.
I'm eating Triscuits and goat cheese and it's delightful
DS2 did great at his appt, till his shots. So many tears. But he was also hungry, so I think that didn't help. He was smiley when I dropped him off at daycare though, so yay.
I need to throw some laundry in and then get started on this work stuff. Ugggghhh. DNW.
I just placed orders from Old Navy, Target and Kohls and ordered various sizes. I'm glad most of the cold weather clothes are on sale right now because they're bringing in all the spring stuff. Kohls even had some short sleeved shirts on clearance, so I got some in a couple sizes bigger, hoping they'll fit him when it gets warm out. Hopefully my stuff won't take too long to arrive. It's so strange having to shop for boy clothes. I really haven't had to buy him much of anything since he was born because we were given so many clothes.

britta Thanks for the advice, and the goat cheese sounds amazing. My stomach keep growling. Time for an early lunch, I think. @kitchen GL finding the space. Do they have any small business incubators around you?

Not close enough. They all seem to be in San Fran and silicon valley
I'm pondering whether I'd want to be a gestational surrogate. I think perhaps. I like having babies but DNW another to raise. It feels like a bit of a superpower thing - I can grow humans! Weird? Perhaps this is hormonal.
I'm thinking of being a surrogate next year. Pregnancy is generally kind to me. We're not done having babies (I don't think) but it will be a couple of years before we'd want to have another.
