thanks! I appreciate it. I decided keeping up with this was like one more thing I felt I NEEDED to do even thought it's not a necessity. It's the oddest feeling. 

Can you give me the quick version of what's going on with your DS? I'm sure it's posted somewhere - feel free to link - I hope all goes well. 

Cliff notes: we brought him to the eye doctor because his eye was wandering and my sister had that problem when she was little. Turns out he is farsighted and needs glasses, so no huge issue. In doing the exam though, they noticed he had elevated optic nerve pressure. We did an ultrasound on his eyes to confirm what they noted on the exam. Due to the fact he has a large head (macrocephaly) and now this pressure issue, we need to get an MRI to rule out any potential masses in his brain. If the MRI comes back negative, then we need to see a neurologist to figure out what is causing the swelling and most likely have a spinal tab done to measure how much spinal fluid he has (or something like that). He has no other symptoms though that would prompt us to think there is something seriously wrong, so we are hoping we are just going through the motions to rule stuff out.

Please, please, please anyone who suspects PPD, get help! I don't want to read about any of you in the newspaper headlines. PPD can have very tragic consequences. Admitting you need help is a tough first step and you ladies are strong for admitting it. You and your family's health and safety should be a top priority.

DH doesn't want to miss out so he said he'd come today. It's 1.5 hours away. We have a trailer for the bikes but it's an event to get them tied up, so DH just wants to ride back. It's nice out and other than a our back alley the roads are clear of snow. It just gets dark by 6 and I don't want him riding in the dark. So we'll probably head out as soon as DH is back from work (around 230). DS is thankfully over his freaking out in the car phase, so it should be a nice drive. DD loves keeping him entertained until he falls asleep.

I can't wait to ride my bike. Waiting for all the snow to melt and it get a bit warmer before insuring it again. I didn't insure it last year since I didn't ride at all while pregnant.

My DH is selling his motorcycle today. I didn't demand it of him but not growing up with them I wasn't as comfortable having him ride them with little kids - I kept telling him I didn't want to raise my kids alone.  And I know he's a safe driver but so many people just don't look out for motorcycles.

So he bought a project car instead to fix up instead.

I am in a much better mental state today. I remember that late October I had something in the garage fall on this toenail and I couldn't walk for days. It was mostly covered with polish until last week which is probably why I didn't see it before. Still going to the dermatologist tomorrow but I'm no longer 100% certain I have melanoma there.

O is home with Daddy today. Almost better just with a junky cough.

Main reason we don't ride in the city, people just don't pay attention. Out on the highway in the country only. DH has already rebuilt 2 sports cars, I'm the one who wanted to get bikes. Now he's hooked and collecting bikes as well.

Hugs jcrewgirl. PPD/A can definitely start or get worse anytime in the first year. Definitely check in with your OB and go from there.

ETA: make time for the appointment. I understand work is busy, life is busy, but don't put it off. I did that with DS1 until things got much worse and required more time to get better.

I need to renew my ACLS, First Aid and CPR before I go back to work. Sounds like a lame summer weekend is in store.

I'd definitely call. When we were prepping for post-baby coping mechanisms, my therapist AND OB reminded me that PPD can occur up to like a year after birth and not to discount feeling oddly sad or overwhelmed just because you're tired, because being overly tired is also a symptom of PPD. So sorry you are going through this right now. Sending hugs. 

I completely agree with this. I really think I had PPD along with my messed up thyroid. I waited too long to get it checked. Get checked as soon as you feel it. jcrewgirl. And go get it checked too britta.

I felt the same way. That's why I stopped posting on some of the other boards and only post on this one now. There's just too much stuff. I l9ve that we all get it here to about life and stuff.

Yes thyroid meds are safe becole. Sorry I just got to this now britta. The medicine replaces the thyroid hormone your body isn't able to make.

Right now they say I have unspecified hypothyroidism. I did have a pcp tell me it is most likely hashi's. I have never seen an endocrinologist. Thanks to our health care system and the family glitch I don't have insurance so I won't be getting one anytime soon. Because I can technically get insurance from Mr. P'S job I can't get the subsidies we qualify for. Sorry for the side track.

DD just puked twice. She was eating dinner, handed me her plate and said her tummy wasn't feeling well. Walked to the bathroom and puked twice. It's nice when they are old enough to contain it. I think it's just from snacking and spending 3 hours in the car this afternoon. Hopefully that was it.

Hugs jcrewgirl. I just now at almost 4 months PP started zoloft. I've been unhappy for awhile but was trying to deal with it, treat it myself, and/or hope for it to go away. I hope everyone struggling can find whatever it is that will work for them.
