- 8 months already!! G/b - it's going great. They both have head colds but it hasn't impacted their sleep or moods too much thankfully. - officially weaned off another feeding so I'm down to 3 nursing sessions a day. I can't believe how old they are already! Why did the first six months seem like it took a year and now every month feels like a week?! - looking forward to being able to play outside in our backyard! And lighter nights.
15m b/g twins W had some allergy testing done. She tested negative for peanut and tree nuts, so we're going to add PB back into their diet immediately. She had a very mild positive reaction to tuna, which we almost didn't test for, but I saw it on the list and remembered she had a reaction to it very early on. They don't test for strawberry or squash, but the allergist said we could try them again whenever we were ready. The bottom line was she thinks W just has extremely sensitive skin and that potty training and better hand/eye coordination during meals will make it a non issue in the near future, and even those questionable foods are probably things she'll grow out of. Huge relief! A just woke up mid-nap screaming. I picked him up and he was hot and sweaty... ugh, I'm so over sick kids! Gave him some Tylenol and put him back down in just his pants (after 20 minutes of screaming in my ear).
Advice needed! I'm trying to be a good mom and talk W through tantrums. It seems to be working- the diaper shit show has reduced and meals are a tiny bit better. But. Girl seems to have a deathwish, trying to fling herself out of my arms at the top of our concrete front stairs or launch herself out of the carseat onto the pavement. What. the. heck. So the question: has anyone mastered the "mom voice?" You know, the one that stopped you in your tracks when you were a kid because you just knew mom wasn't messing around? Teach me your ways, oh wise PoMs!
QOTW: I just booked a weekend away for me & MH in March. It will be the first time I've spent the night away from them. Just having it on the books is helping my mental state, I was seriously about to crack.
-We officially have two rolling babies and one is very near crawling.
-We started solids last week after getting the ok from the ped and going extremely slow since I'm nervous of allergies due to family histories. W just does not like the taste of anything we've given him so far (bananas, peaches, oatmeal, carrots). Z is very ready for food and loves anything you put in her mouth. W wants whatever Z is getting because she's getting it but either spits it out or just lets it drip back out of his mouth. Ideas to make him happier? Try veggies instead of fruits?
-I'm really looking forward to it being light outside AFTER bedtime so the puppy and I can start running again. It's going to make me feel so much better.

He might not be into sweet foods, you can try veggies, but neither of mine really liked the thin almost watery texture of most purees. Avocados were an early favorite- you can mash them but mine preferred chunks. Carrots steamed until they were mushy, banana chunks... my kids really preferred baby led weaning
How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? G/G 6 months on the 25th (what???!!!)
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? It's going. We're stuck in a super frustrating phase. They roll then get stuck on things and get made. Then they try to crawl and can't move and get mad. Then they try to sit up and just fall over and get mad. It's exhausting. We have their 6 month Appt on March 2nd.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? I don't even know. Lol Sleep is finally going better. A only has had 2 wakeups the last few nights and E like 4. I've been really strict about getting good naps in and I think that's helping.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? A is almost completely weaned from the boob. She eats formula great from the bottle. I nurse her before naps and overnight wakeups. E won't touch a bottle. She did for a bit then quit. We keep offering so hopefully she take it at some point here so I can let my milk go away. We will be starting Baby Led Weaning in a week or so. We've tried giving them food but they're just not interested in even picking it up yet.
- QOTW: Who's ready for Spring?! Share something you're looking forward to in the coming months. I'm so ready for warmer weather! Fall and Spring are my favorite.

Not sure of the situation so this advice may not be relevant, but it's not so much the voice with my kids as they know I follow through with what I say. Don't give warnings or threats (so leave immediately instead of saying "if you do that one more time we're leaving!"). Parenting with love and logic has been pretty helpful for me, but I feel like I am constantly practicing the techniques and they don't come naturally yet!
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Weight check on Monday. Hopefully lil Miss is to or past her birth weight and we can call it quits with these checks. Calling local dentist that specializes in tongue ties to have both kiddos checked.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? When do the MOTN feedings get to be longer then 3hrs? (I'll ask Monday at pedi as well.). DH and I are struggling with the twins not wanting to sleep. 1 falls asleep the. The other wakes. I am waking to feed at the same time to try to curb this but not going well.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Is it possible to EBF twins? We are supplementing after feedings right now and I'd love to be able to stop. Just 1less thing to worry about.
- QOTW: Who's ready for Spring?! Share something you're looking forward to in the coming months. I am ready to just be outside: walks, letting LO1 burn off her energy before bed.
@winegirl9 it's totally possible to EBF twins especially if you don't have any older kids at home. I made it 5 months before introducing any bottles or formula. I'm still exclusively nursing 1 twin (she's refusing bottles) and the other I nurse before naps and overnight just because it's easier to not have to make a bottle. Lol I probably could have gone the year if I just didn't feel totally touched out and terrible that I was boarderline neglecting my older daughter. It's really hard but totally doable if you want to. Good luck!
- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 8 months B/G
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Really great! They have been pretty happy kiddos lately and I love that I can sit them down surrounded by toys and they'll happily play for a bit so I can get stuff done.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? Nothing I can think of right now.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Sippy question. We have a variety of sippies that I've tried to introduce, but they are just not interested. At all. We have soft spout, a weighted straw cup, a 360 cup. Nada. G is actually interested in the 360 cup if I hold it for him, but I really don't think he's actually getting anything out. When sippies are placed in front of them, they just want to smack and throw them. Does it get better? Are there others I should try? In other feeding news, mine are coming around to solids a bit more as of late. Of course, they're polar opposites. L prefers BLW, G prefers to be spoon-fed purees.
- QOTW: Who's ready for Spring?! Share something you're looking forward to in the coming months. I'm soooo ready for spring! We've actually had unseasonably warm weather this last week, so we've enjoyed going to the park and taking a trail walk with the pup. I'm looking forward to going to the zoo, taking hikes, breaking out the jogging stroller, inheriting our neighbor's swing set, grilling, summer beer! The list goes on.
pbandj714 My kids didn't take to any sippies until a bout 9-11 months. I was worried I'd never get them off bottles! Initially, hard-spout sippies were a big mess, but now they're the best option (Nu.k/Ger.ber in particular). 360 cups were more successful earlier, but also a little more prone to leakage when they're dropped.
- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? b/g, 17 months and 9 days
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? 1m checkup in mid-March and 18m checkup at the end of March for kids. 2 week PP on Monday and 6 week PP end of March for me. Nothing remarkable. I can't wait until my lifting and driving restrictions are gone.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? Just trucking along with day to day. I really hate the PP hormone adjustments and all the mind games involved.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? I'm stopping BFing earlier than last time even to manage time and health as well as possible. I think I can be a better mom if I rely on formula.
As far as solids for the bigs, I'm not sure how to tell when to introduce foods that require more chewing. I don't want to make them gag too much, but I also want to add more variety to their diet (i.e. eating more of the food that MH and I prepare for ourselves). It'll be really nice when they can proficiently use utensils!
- QOTW: I'm looking forward to walking the kids to daycare. My mom and I figured out a way to put the littles in the quad stroller. Also, it'll be nice to not feel like I'm freezing my kids by putting them in their cold car seats.
