I know there was a post a few days ago for post-nursing snacks, but I was wondering if anyone had any good, easy, filling meal ideas. I'm so damn hungry all the time. I snack, but I also feel like my meals aren't filling me up very well (unless I eat about 5 servings). Bonus points for crockpot meals and/or make-ahead freezer meals!
ETA: I forgot to mention, relatively healthy ideas would be awesome too
I made really delish beef tips and rice the other night in the crock pot. 1lb of stewing beef, a can of beef broth, a can of cream of mushroom soup and a packet of onion soup mix. Mix everything in the crockpot and cook on low for about 6 hours. I threw a bag of uncle Bens rice in the microwave and made some steamed veggies. It was awesome and super filling!

This sounds good! I have stew meat in the freezer too!

Smoothies helped me. Get some frozen fruit (mango, pineapple, strawberries, or whatever you like) and throw it in the blender with some orange juice and a banana. Or get some whole milk plain yogurt and add that in for some extra calories. And lots of protein helped. (chicken sausage at breakfast, peanut butter for snacks, etc). The cilantro lime chicken recipe here is pretty good: www.overthebigmoon.com/freezer-meals/

Crockpot meals:
Pork shoulder roast, 2 strips of bacon, 4 whole garlic cloves in the crockpot. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. When it's done, shred the meat and either eat as is, or add BBQ sauce and make sandwiches.
Chicken and veggie soup: Cut up 2 chicken breasts into bite size pieces, add to crockpot with potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, or whatever other veggies you like. Add half a bottle of Italian dressing and water just to cover. Cook for 6-8 hours.
Chili: Brown some ground beef or turkey. Put it in the crockpot with 1 can of diced tomatoes, 2 cans of beans (any kind is fine), 12 oz of cheap beer (optional), 1 diced pepper, 1 cup frozen corn, 1 Tbsp cumin, 1 Tbsp chili powder. Add water to cover. Cook for 8-10 hours on low. Serve with cheese and Frito chips.
Beans: I love making beans in the crockpot. Soak a bag of beans in a bowl of water overnight. In the morning put them in the crockpot. Basic would be with about 6 slices of diced bacon. Even better is a smoked turkey leg or hamhock. Another thing that's good is diced smoked sausage (if you do this, wait until about an hour before the beans are done to add them). Cover the beans with water by about an inch, add salt and pepper and diced onion and pepper. I like this with cornbread.
In addition to what PPs have said, I would make double batches of these Baked Taquitos and freeze them. Then I would pop 2 or 3 in the toaster oven for 12 minutes. I tried to keep some in stock at all times. They were especially nice because you can eat them easily with one hand while nursing or holding your baby.

I have to try those, thanks for the link!
I make frozen breakfast burritos for DH to grab and go, they're really easy. I just cooked a bunch of scrambled eggs, sausage, and mix that on burritos with some cheese. I wrap them in paper towels and put them back in the bag in the freezer. DH just grabs one or two and puts it in the microwave for a minute or two (in the paper towel) and breakfast is done. I'm not big on those things myself, and haven't tried them, but DH is eating them up.
I have three meals plus two to three "snacks". I am a hobbit, nursing twins... but the hunger struggle is REAL. I am trying to eat a little healthier (I say while downing a vanilla milkshake) but it's hard to find food that's filling enough. My favorite go-to at lunch is quesadillas; I fill mine with spinach, tomato, sometimes mushroom, and some white blend shredded cheese (mozzarella, asiago, provolone, Parmesan) and a little sour cream. But I have a variety of ingredients so I can mix it up. I'm not good with crockpot meals, I would love to hear others suggestions there though. I definitely need to try making smoothies! I hate cleaning my blender, so I make excuses not to.
I do a lot of greek yogurt with fruit and granola as a snack. The added protein of the yogurt helps me feel more full I think. My coworker jokes that I eat more now than I did pregnant #snackdrawerFTW

They are really good! I had to go dairy-free for about 9 months while nursing because DD had MSPI, and I subbed refried black beans for the cream cheese. Not as tasty but makes it a little healthier! When not dairy-free, DH and I would mix the rest of the green salsa with sour cream as a dipping sauce. Yum
I describe my eating as hobbit like as well and it started in pregnancy. I pretty much always have second breakfast (two eggs and peanut butter toast) and elevensies (an early light lunch). When LO was still waking for a MOTN feed, I was always shocked how famished I would feel. My stomach would feel so empty it was painful. I'm bad at keeping up with my fluid intake but not food.

Hahahahaha...hobbit-like made me LOL. I shared with my husband - he's big into LOTR
of course the usual grab and gos from the other thread are best for between meal hobbit feedings.
frozen dinners can be great, esp if they come with a veggie add a roll and a packaged salad for even more fill up.
one thing that is nice if you didn't make and freeze ahead of time is to make a [stouffers] giant lasagne and then chill it and cut it into big pieces and refreeze in the square ziplock take and toss things or ziplock bags.
I do the crockpot pork shoulder or butt. I just add liquid smoke to it and take out extra juices/fats while it cooks so it stays moist but not under water. I do the same thing by making chicken breasts or beef in the crock pot, shred the meat and use it in many many ways to make simple things Of course my family seems to think that everything is better in a tortilla or on bread.
Then portion it out into serving size containers to freeze. then you add it to taco shells with cheese lettuce and salsa. or bbq sauce to make some bbq sandwiches. stick meat on top of flour tortillas, cheese and melt for quesadillas. layer in a round casserole dish tortillas, meat, cheese and enchilada sauce--green or red. layer meat with rice and a cream of somethig soup and extra water as a casserole. using shredded chicken you can make the buffalo chicken dip (on a bun or rolled up in a tortilla to make it easier to eat while holding baby).
