We have a sound machine in his room, but you can still hear the bathroom noises, unfortunately.

macaronmama 4 months is generally accepted as the time to break the swaddle habit. Stay strong! I hope you have better results tonight. And DS2 also loves slamming his feet on the floor/bed. The first time I heard him do it he was in the living room and I couldn't figure out what the banging noise was because the other kids were gone. I found him happily chewing his fingers and banging his feet. Seems to keep him entertained.

DD is home with DH today after two days of a stomach bug. She is eating more but still napping a lot. Thank goodness the puking is done and she's returning to normal. It was so nice to hear her sweet little voice again this morning. It was all moans and groans this weekend. I'm thankful two of the three sick days happened over the weekend.

I really thought DS1 was coming down with something yesterday but he seems fine today. I took him and DS2 to my parents' for lunch yesterday. He told him that he's starting swimming lessons soon. I have no idea where he got that idea but I looked into lessons that start next week and there's a waitlist. Shoot. He may have to wait until April.

erien22846, glad DD is doing better. Funny about DS1! I approve of swimming lessons. Start early folks! Even if it's just water acclimation! Says the former swim instructor.

DH wants to do burgers on the patio tonight while the weather is nice. Been a little windy, hope we can get the grill going.

macaronmama, He'll likely never be coordinated enough to play soccer, but he'll be able to swim! We're enjoying lessons better now that he doesn't need a parent with him. That was a hassle.

Ugh, DH is having stomach issues and went to bed at 6pm. My initial thought is that he just now got the stomach bug, two weeks after DD2 and I got it. Then I asked him what he had for lunch... a salad from the vending machine at work. I'm sorry, but it grosses me out that he eats sandwiches and salads from a vending machine. So now I think it's a toss-up whether or not it's the stomach bug or food poisoning from the vending machine salad. Gag. The timing is right for food poisoning, too. He said it hit him 4-5 hours after he ate lunch. Sadly, I hope that's what it is. I really don't want DS or DD1, who still has a terrible cough from the flu, to get the stomach bug. I'm so glad I bought a new bottle of Lysol spray.

What a day.
The dog got out earlier today. I guess the gate wasn't properly latched (my fault) and the wind caught it and blew it open. DH spent 20 minutes driving around before I saw the dog literally 3 houses down. Called DH and he chased the dog around in the woods behind the houses for 10 minutes.

I got exactly ZERO cleaning done, even with DH home.

I need to buy a bumbo or something. The flat spot on the side of DD's head has improved, or at least evened out with the other side. Now I'm worried about the back of her head. She has the typical bald spot (I assume but from moving her head around in her sleep) but now when I take her out of her swing there's a red spot (even after 5 minutes). The swing is plastic with a cloth cover it. i wonder if I should add the headrest that was in her carseat. I can't wear her every single second of the day, she only tolerates tummy time in 10 minute intervals.

Therapy was good but exhausting. I'm going to sleep with the 3 year old now (8:30).

@snuff9861 DD has the red spot too. I have been putting her in the sit me up seat more and more, but the red spot is still there. I think it's just a fact of life with babies?

jwinct, FX'd that it's just food poisoning. I agree, salad out of vending is gag worthy.

LO is down with arms out again. Kid hasn't pooped in over 36 hours, so I am wondering whether it is something in his stomach bothering him that caused the 5 wake ups last night.

Does it disappear after a bit? Because if she's off her head for 5-10 minutes, it goes away. I feel so bad for her. I never had this issue with DS since he was a stomach sleeper.

@snuff9861, our DS gets a lot of red spots on his skin when it presses up against anything, really. I was worried at first but DH says it's just from having pale skin (he's speaking from personal experience). LO doesn't seem bothered.

DS already woke up. I had to rock and sing to him for 5ish minutes and he went back down. Ugh.

@holachica I always chuckle when people say their kids thighs don't fit in the Bumbo, my skinny kids don't have that problem. DD is 4 and can still fit in it!

jwinct gross!! Does he eat gas station sushi too??? MH is the same way though. He'll eat anything. FX it is food poisoning so that no one else gets it.

We were gifted one. DS1 sits in it more now than when he was an infant. DS2 also isn't a fan.

macaronmama, I am counting down to when we can start G in swimming. N started when he was 2.5, and we plan to get G in once he turns 6 months. N loves it, so I hope G will too.

G gets the red spot on the back of his head if he's been laying down. He is also pale, so I assume that's why.

+whatever to having babies who don't fit in the Bumbo seat. I haven't tried it with G yet, but N nearly got stuck in it the first time I put him in it. G has chunky thighs like N did, so I imagine he won't fit either.
