I'm exhausted and feel like it should be midnight. I'm hoping N will actually sleep in his bassinet tonight. I think he's suffering from some reflux because he's been super gassy, has the hiccups a lot and has been spitting up. He's also been waking up screaming every now and then. Once we burp him he's fine.
Our oldest son has also been sleeping like shit because he's getting 4 teeth in.
Battling the reflux and now I get to add her scream/ crying because she has to wear the harness 24/7 and can't stretch her little body. It sucks so bad. She had latch issues before, but now she just cries- probably because the stupid harness makes it all but impossible for her to be comfortable and for me to find a good hold. So it looks like I'll be exclusively pumping from here on out. At least my nipples will be less traumatized...maybe.
I feel like someone pulled the rug out from under me and reset the clock to day 1 of her existence, and we have to relearn how to do and deal with everything- how to feed, how to sooth, how to sleep, how to change her diaper and clothes- all because of this f'ing harness. Like the first 6 days of her life were total fake-out. I feel a tremendous amount of guilt that she's inherited my p.o.s hip structure. It's horrible and irrational, but there.
Sorry. Rant over.
On a positive note, she's super snuggly right now sleeping on my chest. Makes me never want to move.

I'm waiting to pump one more time before taking Z, who just ate to bed. DH works his 24 hour shift tomorrow and has to be up at 5:30 so tonight and tomorrow night are just me. If she were nursing well it wouldn't be so bad but since I have to feed her then pump...makes for long nights.
@la2012 so sorry for the harness that sounds miserable.
We are doing their last feed before we go upstroke bed. DH went up 30 Ago for some extra sleep. So tired since last night wasn't great.....hopefully tonight is better!

ls2012 so sorry your lo has to wear a harness. It sounds like a special kind of hell for everyone involved. DD2 has been comfort nursing the past two and a half hours with no signs of giving up. Every time she drifts off and I try to put her down, it's back to crying. Looks like a long night ahead.

Bed time was a shit storm here tonight. And I get to do it alone 4-5 nights a week. My toddler makes it so hard with kicking and screaming through diaper and brushing teeth. Then I basically drag her body upstairs. All during the time when R is marathon nursing- so she's screaming because I put her down.
I'm literally sweating buckets. Woke up to feed R, and I'm drenched.
I'm so sorry about the harness ls2012 that's so hard for her and you!
Has anyone dealt with their LO spitting up a little yellow? I just got done with a feed maybe a half hr ago and N is spitting up and it's got a yellow tinge to it...

ls2012 so sorry about the harness. That sounds terrible.
flyinghorses6 add me to woke up drenched in sweat club! It's so gross. Sorry about solo bedtime, that sounds rough.
I'm very engorged and yesterday started fighting a little fever. I read on KellyMom that can be normal when engorged. So I'm trying to follow all the tricks to minimize the engorgement and ward off mastitis.
So. I decided yesterday that we would see if LO would sleep in the pnp. It's currently set up in our living room, so I said I would sleep on the couch rather than bring it upstairs for this trial run.
Couch sleeping is going so well. And I'll be at Walmart tomorrow buying another pnp to put upstairs. LO went down at 10 and woke at 2:30 to eat.
The real test will be if she tolerates being put down now. I hope so.
It is a little unfair that I have both cats on the couch. Go upstairs where your dad has a whole bed to himself!
Babes are killing me...or really just lil G is killing me. He is not wanting to go back to sleep after his last feeding. Both are nursing again so FX they both sleep....Daddy and Monna need sleep!
DH is annoyed I told him I'd be waking him up to help get Babies off me and into the RnP. Not sorry - getting two babies off me and into a RnP safely just isn't possible right now. Maybe once I have more Twin practice
@jacks605 I normally believe that there is no reason for DH to be up at night because I'm nursing- so he won't do any good (especially while I'm on maternity leave and he's working. BUT I thinkmworh twons that changes everything. Sorry Mr Winegirl
So much grunting and crying. I'm going to make an appointment with the ped in the morning. I'm wondering if this could be silent reflux. LO is totally fine during the day but around 10 pm he starts writhing and grunting when I put him down. He has not spit ever, so idk if that rules out reflux but it seems like he's in real pain so I'm going to look into it. Poor guy. He's literally up the whole night.
monicageller - Exactly. With LO1 he got to sleep with few exceptions for the first year she got up 1-3x. It wasn't until we started to wean that he got up regularly. Bit with twins can't do that.

This was my night last night. Baby boy cried off and on from 2:30am-4:30am. He also ate a ton and wanted more but his little body isn't ready.
EmMilAlly that describes our nights too. We changed sleeping locations tonight, and the difference was amazing. Maybe try that too?
Okay I'm sleep deprived so I need more info. By location, do you mean you moved him to another room or to a different type of bed? Right now he's sleeping in a RNP next to my bed, but we have a pnp and a crib in his own room I could try. Is your LO swaddled?

We've been using the graco version of the RnP. Last night she slept in the newborn napper part of the pnp. And she actually slept there and did not need to be held for hours and hours.
We slept downstairs, but it was a trial run. I'm going to get a new pnp tonight so I can sleep in bed.
Yes, she is swaddled. We use the summer infant swaddle me kind.
