I'm not having one this time around unless work throws a sprinkle (they've hinted to doing one but who knows), but with DS1, I had my work shower at 30ish weeks and the one DH's family threw was at 31ish weeks- exactly two months before my EDD.
My sisters are throwing me a combined family/friends shower mid-May. I'll be 35 weeks. I would have preferred a week or two sooner, but H is at a conference one weekend and then has a half-marathon the next and we want him to be there for part of it

I'm such an over planner, and like to be prepared. I'm thinking I'd like to do mine early-ish, that way we can buy everything we need afterwards and have plenty of time to set his room up, wash diapers and clothes, etc.

My due date was 9/7 and my shower was 7/17 (32 weeks). Would have done it a a week or 2 later, but my cousin's wedding was the following weekend and my BFF of 25+ years was out of town the weekend after that so the 17th it was.
I didn't want to go any closer to my due date so I had time to get things I want gifted or in case baby came early (LOL to that thought now since he was a week late).
It's too early for me to say if/when I'll have a shower, but I'm hoping if anyone offers, it'll be no later than 7 months. I'll need at least eight weeks to panic!buy everything. ;)

I, er, flat out told my MIL that I was going to BRU at the end of the month to get the rest of the stuff so if she didn't host by then, she'd be SOL on buying what she wanted off the registry.
No one bought off the registry but her so I ended up buying a lot of it myself anyway..
Mine is on April 22. I will 4 days more preggly than whatever you are at that time.
Aww I didn't realize we were that close in our due dates! I'm always mobile so I never see siggies. I knew we were in the same month, just didn't realize only 4 days apart. ❤
Where I'm from, showers are done after baby is born. With DS my showers were when he was about 2.5-3 months old (one church, one family). Showers are also really informal events here and it's not uncommon to have small ones for second babies so I may or may not end up with one for this baby.
With DD, I had it at about 30 weeks. This time my friends are throwing me a sprinkle at 34 weeks. Work has hinted at something but I don't know their plan.
Our shower is when we are 32 weeks and picked mainly due to needing to travel. Our family is hosting and it's a 3.5 hour drive so I don't want to go any later than that cause long car rides may not be allowed much later. Ideally I would have liked just a couple weeks later (like at 35) but 32 is close enough

Ive never heard of this before! Where are you from?
I had my shower pretty early with DD at 26 weeks. However, I was due early February and we wanted to avoid asking people to make an event commitment during the holiday season. It actually worked out very well - I was able to return/exchange and set the nursery up before I was huge and miserable.

If all looks good, we are planning mine for 28 weeks, which feels early, but my doc made me nervous about bed rest, etc., with twins, and I have some people flying in so we are trying to plan ahead and feel more comfortable that I'll feel ok at that time! My bf is throwing it and we decided to turn it into backyard BBQ with couples, basically just a party, which I'm so happy about. I'm super uncomfortable with showers and it's easier to get MH's friends and their SOs involved bc I don't know them all that well and not sure the girls would come alone, but now it will be a big party (that I'll be sober for, ha)!
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!

I think that's the perfect time for a shower with twins! Also, the BBQ party sounds awesome. I wanted to do that but the seasons didn't match up. So many cute ideas on Pinterest!

A BBQ sounds fun! My first shower at 30 weeks was good. I wasn't too tired or uncomfortable. By the next one at 32 weeks I was struggling a bit. I had started some major swelling by then so standing wasn't great and bending over to reach for gifts was difficult and uncomfortable. So I think 28 weeks will be perfect. You'll have enough of a baby bump to make everyone happy and make good pictures, but not so much that you've reached the stage I'm at now.....beached whale.
Also don't be fooled. Many many many many many multiples pregnancies don't require bed rest. My OB and MFM have both given me the ok to keep working as long as I want. My goal is to work until 36.5 weeks. Then take a week or so off to rest before babies come. That's all dependent on if they decide to come themselves or if they get evicted.

Yeah I think my age makes them a bit more nervous about how long I'll be on my feet (plus some recently slightly elevated BP), but I'm certainly hoping to avoid it! Just better safe than sorry, especially with planning things like getting nursery in order and such...in no small part than because MH needs lots of "encouragement" to get anything done around the house...

Originally from a small town in Manitoba, Canada. We're a military family so we move around. In 2/3 provinces I've lived in showers seem to be common after baby arrives, in the other I went to ones for friends pre-baby.
I liked having it after because the attention was all on baby instead of me haha.
With my first, my shower was at 35 weeks and my son was born the very next day LOL
With this baby, one of my coworkers threw me a sprinkle type thing at 33 weeks. She said that she didn't want to risk holding it later with my history of early birth. In retrospect I am laughing (I'm 39+1 today) but if you have high risk, an earlier time would be better probably.
I think late 20s and early 30something weeks are a good time because you are showing and are extra cute with the belly, and yet you don't feel like TOTAL garbage yet. Lol

I told my SM no shower (Sorry Wallie if you are reading this). We will register for completion discounts, however I am superstitious, and my family is huge and can get pretty catty about these events.

Work threw a joint one for me and co-worker when I was 33 weeks (she was almost 36 weeks). My friends threw one for me when I was almost 35 weeks. It was hard to wait that long to buy stuff, but given my due date and the timing of holidays/inauguration/Super Bowl, that was the only weekend that made sense.
