dancersposemonicageller same boat here with the RNP. My plan is to try and transition her flat sooner than I did with K. It was tough, but I at least I am not sleeping with R. K slept in bed with me for 6 weeks before I could even get herin the RNP.
Ditto. My plan this time was not to use the RNP at all, but I am using every night. I'm trying to do one nap a day in the crib and may start putting him down for his first stretch of the night in the crib. We'll see.
I have a rough plan too...but not sure if I want to start it. I'm sure I'll regret it when I can't get her in her crib, but I am loving how well she sleeps! And she deserves to be comfortable too...I love looking over and seeing her so snuggly and snoozing. I think with K I actually wished they made a bigger version of the RNP so I could keep her in it forever ha ha

My pregnancy insomnia is gone, and I sleep like the dead once S is down. We're also doing shifts with my husband, so he sleeps early and I sleep late. We're more rested that we'd expect at this point. I'm sure that will change as S feeds more and MH goes back to work, but for now I'll take it.

I waited too long (like 4-5 months) last time and the transition was a disaster. My goal this time is to have him in his crib at around 2 months. DNW to be dealing with the transition after I'm back at work. I'm starting with naps and will start putting him in there at night once I'm comfortable with it.

staz I'm so sorry about the loss of your mom. Your post made me tear up. I do think there is anything anyone can do or say to make you feel better. Allow yourself to grieve what you are missing with your mom during this time. Hugs.

With my first she went from the flat bassinet to the crib at 3 months. The transition was easy since it was flat to flat. The dockatot is a flat surface too so I'm hoping the transition to the bassinet will be fine too. That's doesn't really answer your question but I would definitely say the sooner the better.

Chiming in a bit late, but I start doing it in increments as soon as possible. For us, it works best to set her in her crib right after a diaper change while I clean up. First time, maybe it's just a minute. Then 3, then 5, and so on. Yesterday she was kind enough to fall asleep there and I got through a pumping session and a shower before she woke up. It was glorious! Not saying it'll work perfectly, and even when it does it may not be consistent for awhile, but I've found it's a good place to start.
