Nothing crazy planned for today. DS has his 2 year physical, but that's about it. We might go test drive a few SUVs so when we are ready to buy on a few weeks I know exactly what I want. So far I am looking at the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and the Kia Sorento.

Not sure what you are specifically looking for SUV wise but I have a Nissan Pathfinder and looooooove it. One of my favorite things is that if you have a forward facing seat installed in the middle row passenger side, you can move the seat to access the third row without messing up the seat install. For us this is perfect since DS1 sits in the third row.

No plans for the morning and DD has preschool this afternoon. Going to attempt some purging and organizing. It's a never-ending battle and I'm not making much progress these days. I finally sorted, took pictures and posted for sale a bunch of DD's baby clothes. Still have more to post.
adouces06 Happy car shopping! We're putting off getting a new SUV for me until next year. With two daycare payments next year we don't really want to add a second car payment as well. I think I'll be getting a Toyota 4Runner.
I have a highlander. I would suggest getting a used car. I got a new one and it is so scratched up from stroller and kids and leaks and goldfish and things being thrown... it doesn't look new anymore...
I'm like sleepy tired today. So hard to keep my eyes open. Dd1 is basically exploring the guest room (safely) while im laying in the guest bed. Heading to my mom's after dd2s nap to work. She was up a bunch last night but easy to go back down. We have a pathfinder too and like it well enough. We basically got it for the trunk space so the the third row is never in use.
Is it bad if I wear the same cocktail dress to an awards event that I wore last year? Like, no one should remember what dress I wore and if they do, they are crazy (it was a boring black dress)?
Since I can't STFU about sleep, DS2 slept better last night. Woke up a few times and was able to settle himself, plus one feed and two re-pacifiers.
I will be happy to get through this workday and start the weekend. Looking forward to a mani/pedi tomorrow. Then seriously, after this weekend, I need to get junk food out of my life.
Crappy sleep here too. Baby woke up a lot and then I woke up to DD1 sitting on my legs.
Gray day here, but it's Friday and DH got home last night! Luckily we are east and south of blizzard warnings around here. erien22846 I'm not sure where you are in Iowa, are you guys getting hit?
We lease my vehicles. I like having a new car every couple years and it's the only thing I spend "frivolous" money on. It's my "thing" I guess.
DS2 slept from 8-7:30. It was glorious, but I also know probably a side effect of not sleeping at daycare for two days in a row. H is home because he's working tonight. It's raining and supposed to all day, so I'm happy to have help entertaining the preschooler. The unseasonably warm weather really spoiled him.
We're attempting nap training with DS2 this weekend. He's been in his crib for his first nap for 10 minutes now. He's fussing but not crying. We'll see. I wish I could put him on his belly, but H suggested we try him on his back since that's what they'll have to do at daycare.
fem, We're in CR and not expecting much. My kids are so disappointed they can't play outside today. And it doesn't look like the snow will amount to much either so no snowman building this weekend.
So, that new coffee shop....yeah...it totally has a drive thru. Dan.ger.ous! I'm being a good girl and drinking Folgers from the break room this morning though.
This week has been so long. I'm so glad it's Friday. And I'm so glad I woke up feeling a lot better than I have all week. My company is having an outing this afternoon to a popular "game" place... it's like a giant arcade and also has a billiards room, a mechanical bull, a basketball court, duck pin bowling, laser tag, etc. And there's a pretty good pub right in the middle of it that has good food and decent beer.
OneRepublic tickets go on sale in 4 minutes. I'm so nervous that all the tickets have already been bought by scalpers during the pre-sale and all the tickets will be jacked up. This is what happened when my friend tried to get us Lady Gaga tickets a week or two ago. It pisses me off that this is legal.
jwinct, I really hope so. I don't understand how it's legal. I always thought scalping tickets was illegal, but apparently not anymore. I love that Eric Church just cancelled 25,000 tickets that were identified as being purchased by scalpers. I wish all artists would do this!
I was able to get pretty good seats to the concert, though, at face value. I am so excited!!! My heart was racing the whole time, until I got the confirmation. LOL

It actually did become law. There was an article about it in the link you shared.
britta I'm looking into our Tampa trip. Do you want to meet?
*siiiiiiiigh* MH dragged his feet and hemmed and hawed about whether he wanted to go to this specific conference, and then registration closed. So we're not going. Don't get me started...🙄
I feel kind of bad. Like I said, H is home because he's working tonight. There's quite a few surgeries today and it looked like could use my help, so I called last night. They said that the ICUs were up staff, so they couldn't, in good conscience, "add" me to the schedule when FT people were like going to be mandated off. Fair enough. I told them to call me if they ended up needing help and left it at that.
At 10:30 the charge RN called and asked if I wanted to come in. First, she offered for me to come in when the to-follow cases came off pump-so like 1:00. Because H has to work tonight, I would only be able to stay until like 4:30, so that didn't seem worth it. Then said she if I wanted to come earlier she would take me to help break people for lunch. So...coming in for 4 hours to not have an assignment and just float. I ended up saying no. It doesn't seem worth it to have H not be able to nap before working all night just for 4 hours where I'll just be "floating." I feel bad though, because I did say I would come in if they needed help...it just doesn't feel like they're that bad off...

adouces06, I think the Kia Sorento is similar in body to the Hyundai Santa Fe. We have a Hyundai Tucson (the next size down) and love it. Our other car is my Equinox, which I love. If you're looking for a third row, though, neither the Tucson nor the Equinox would work. Have fun on the test drives!
hikingmama222, the next car we get will be a pickup for MH. I don't know if he's considered a Tundra. How does it work with car seats in it? He commutes 50 miles one way (or about 80km per my Google conversion) with next to no traffic, but he only does it twice a week. My concern is fitting the boys' seats in the back seat of a truck.
iwantbacon, I think it's fine to wear the same dress. Maybe change it up with different accessories?
britta, good luck with the nap training. I think we'll be doing that soon in our house too. We are looking into potentially leasing a truck for MH, since he doesn't drive as much as I do. I am a bit jealous that he'll get the new car this time. I also don't blame you for not going in. 3 or 4 hours with a 30 minute drive each way (IIRC) and YH not getting sleep for tonight? Sounds like you made the best decision.
penguin129, I hope Lil P feels better soon and you find some good stuff at the flea market.
jwinct, yay for getting the tickets! I thought of you when I saw the ads for the concert. I actually got an email for the presale; I should have sent you the code for it so you wouldn't have had to worry about it! I saw that article about Eric Church, and love that he did that.
ladystrat, good luck with the flight home! I would love if they could cancel tickets bought by scalpers for Hamilton. Maybe I'd be able to go someday if they did that

smallpotato We have the limited edition double cab. No issue with carseats. We had DD's convertible RF in the middle seat for over a year. Now she's FF in the middle and the bucket for DS is behind the passenger seat. Someone can still sit behind the driver. I'll let you know how it goes when we switch DS to a convertible RF.

AFM, G was so excited about his new skill that he woke up at 2:00 this morning to celebrate. MH and I took turns going in until I broke down at 3:45 and fed him. He gulped for almost 15 minutes, and then passed out. He was all smiles when I woke him up at 6:30 to get ready for daycare. I am so tired today. I kept apologizing to MH every time we heard G over the monitor since he had to work today. Then I go onto Facebook, and see my sister posting about her 2 month old sleeping 10 hours. I nearly lost it, but then she added that her 22 month old was up 3 times last night. Can't win them all.
N was up at 5:30 and didn't bug me too much while I was getting G and myself ready. He did, however, refuse to eat the bagel I made him because we are out of cream cheese. I then forgot to grab it on my way out to eat myself. At least he went right over to his teacher and gave her a hug when he got to his classroom.
I talked to my mom last night, and she is coming tomorrow afternoon to stay overnight. I may wait and see how she is when she gets here before asking if she would mind watching the boys so MH and I can go out for a little bit. I'm sure she won't mind, but she was tired when I talked to her last night, and didn't want to ask then.

Thank you! We're not going to be getting anything for a while, unless one of our cars dies on us. That's good to know that the seats will fit.

ladystrat, that is awesome! I'm hoping to go next year when the tour is in Boston. My old boss flew to Chicago alone a few weeks ago and went to see it. I am so jealous.
britta your husband's future patients thank you for letting him rest. It seems like you did the right thing.
When do you start the new job?
Yeah, I know that. The harsh reality is that most nightshifters work on very little to no sleep prior to their shift, especially if they're only working one random night shift (MH) or on the first night of a stretch of shifts. It's really hard to flip back and forth and sleep when you're used to being awake. I'll be surprised if MH is able to nap for 2 hours today. But, that's better than nothing and there's no sense in purposely making it worse so that I can work for 4 hours.
