Funny story, when I was pregnant with DD, I asked H to go get my some rips at the store. He came home with a big slab of Montgomery inn RIBS. While delicious, that was not what I was craving so he went back to the store to exchange. The CS rep gave him a ton of grief because they'd have to throw the ribs away, and those are like $15-$17 or something. Woops
My darling H got roped into scheduling an appointment today for a quote on replacing pour back door. Even though this company doesn't offer the type of door we want. I told him to just cancel it, but he said let's get a quote on windows bc we'll need to do it eventually. So we're now sitting through a window sales pitch even though we really didn't want to buy new windows any time soon...
But maybe we should consider doing it sooner to save our electric bill
Did you guys ever figure if your bills were "normal?"
The electric company won't tell us anything about the previous owner and they won't come do that efficency service until we have 4 months of bills. So we still have no idea, but everyone we've talked to agrees it seems outrageous for the size of our house.

Interesting they won't share previous bill amount hmmm. I forgot to ask you about it. I hate that you have to wait four months. I just looked at our bill it's $189 on budget billing and looks like we are on target for it to be lowered in March. I hope you guys figure it out. The joys of home ownership, right.
If new windows can bring our energy bills down to what we expected, they'll probably pay for themselves in the time we live here.
Very true!!
I just hate the sales pitch. I'm ready to buy windows tonight because the idea of sitting through this multiple times to compare prices sounds like torture

I hate how they have an extra discount price if you buy today. Like since we need a few days to think about it, it's going to cost us $3000 more. I'm hoping the company that has the door we want will be able to give us a similar price and we can just do it all together.
JoBub it's just a sales technique you can put them against each other for the best deal. I love that part lol
LOL of course you do. I feel like it works against them because (for someone like me who isn't a natural negotiator) it just means that now we know a ballpark, we can discuss it, and if the next person comes in and can give us a similar price, with the same-day discount, we'll be more likely to accept it right then because we'll be ready for it then. I feel like it's a terrible tactic if you know you're the first company we've talked to.

Very true. It's the pressure close method so old school. I can't wait for your open house kids play date this summer lol

I think we're having a housewarming party in April and you'll all be invited and your families. We'll have the swing set by then for all the kids. We just need patio furniture still.
And we'll be having Bub's birthday party Memorial day weekend most likely.
So basically you guys can count on me for G2Gs in March, April and May.

JoBub I would be annoyed with the sales pitch too--I find I make more sales in my industry being friendly, honest and knowledge. Sometimes people need a push if they seem interested but I don't push hard on the first meeting, guaranteed that sales guy will be calling again tomorrow.

Apparently Girl Scout cookies are different here than in Florida. And peanut butter patties are called Tagalongs. I asked the neighbor for peanut patties and I got do si dos.

Jealous you can count on warm weather for bubs birthday. I'd love to just have Birthday parties at our house outdoors but early April is so hit or miss. And poor C will probably be getting a bday/New Years party every year.

Yeah it looks like we'll be celebrating birthdays for memorial day and independence day. Yay America
Cs birthday party this year will be after his birthday, May 15th. My sister will take the weekend before for my niece. So annoying. She acted like last year would be the only conflict. No.

Are you guys going to rotate each year ? That would get annoying....

Last year we had them on the same day and it was a pita. She really just has a party with her friends because she's 8. So it only affects my parents/ ourselves who want to do both. So I just moved it. Her birthday is the 2nd and his is the 8th. So it would make sense to me for his party to be the 6th and hers the 29th. But she always wants to have a derby party at her house - which is the 6th. Idk. I need to talk to her. She always drags her feet too and is a last minute inviter. I should just mail invites and she has to deal. She never asks my permission, that's for sure.
