This is my last week in this checkin! My little will be 1 on Friday! I can't believe it!!
Please volunteer to be the new check in leader!
How old is baby? Just about 1. We made it! I can't believe LO is 1! We are having a big party this weekend and all her grandparents are flying in for it! Gonna be a crazy week!
How often are you nursing? Solids? NOD usually about 6 times but the past week has been more, maybe a growth spurt, she is also eating a shocking amount of solids. Solids 3-4 x a day
How are nights? Usually 1 wake up. I think I will try to night wean after she turns 1 and all out visitors are gone.
How is pumping/nursing going? Great! We are still going strong and except for the overnight in no rush to be done.
Q/rants/cute stories the other day LO jammed her finger so far and hard up my nose she while she was nursing it started bleeding. Lol
GTKY: What was your hardest time with nursing and what do you wish you could go back and tell yourself? Definitely like weeks 6-10 or so. I had such bad oversupply and my let down was choking LO and she would like projectile spit up back on me. At 10 weeks I saw an LC who recommended I do a full drainage block feeding and also helped with positioning and it fixed everything. It was amazing. I wish I had seen her earlier. I would definitely tell myself don't just suffer get help!

How old is baby? First birthday is Friday! We're camping for her birthday weekend.
How often are you nursing? Solids? Weaning so we are down to 3-5 sessions a day. Trying to do don't offer, don't refuse, but I am starting to try and distract or offer a cup this week. Solids 3 meals and 1-2 small snacks a day.
How are nights? Great! She's been sttn for about 6 weeks or so.
How is pumping/nursing going? No more pumping! That was the first thing to go. She definitely still wants to nurse in the morning and before naps. I'm ok with that for now. We will work on dropping nap sessions later this week. The morning wake up one will be the last to go. It's her favorite.
Q/rants/cute stories:
GTKY: What was your hardest time with nursing and what do you wish you could go back and tell yourself? My hardest time ever nursing was when my ds was first born. The typical bad latch, not knowing what I was doing, pp hormonal mess. I should have gotten help sooner than I did. I think I struggled for 10 days before I saw a LC. With A, the hardest part was around 9 months. I felt like I was so close to my 1 year goal, but had such a long time to go and I was just ready to be done. She was teething really bad and I was getting bit at least once a day. I really thought about giving up, but powered through and things got better as we got closer to 1 year. I think they were just better because I knew it was almost over. I would go back and tell myself that I would be so disappointed in myself if I gave up. I'm glad I was able to make it through.
We nurse 5-6 times a day and she gets solids 3x a day plus 1 snack.
Nights are great! She's sleeping 7-5:30 without waking up.
All is well here! I'm leaving her for 3 nights Wednesday so a little nervous about that since she's been refusing bottles/sippy cups of milk the last few weeks.
GTKY: I would go back and tel myself that there will be ups and downs but hold on. I feel like our nursing relationship has had some many ups and downs! We had tongue/lip ties at the start, struggled with weight gain in the early days, struggled with nursing strikes and distracted nursing. However, all those moments passed and evolved in to an awesome nursing relationship. It's exactly that, a relationship. It's full of good and hard moments.

How often are you nursing? Solids? Still nursing 2-3 times, 3 bottles while at work, 3 meals and a snack. So glad she's not a picky eater (yet) like her Dad!
How are nights? Great, she's still STTN!
How is pumping/nursing going? Nursing is going good still! My pump output is still less than what she drinks at daycare and I've finally accepted that. I believe we will make it to the year mark with what I pump daily, combined with my freezer stash. I'm excited and proud to have made it this far though!
Q/rants/cute stories Over the past couple months, my left breast has produced a much thinner milk than the right. It looks like mostly foremilk. Has anyone else experienced this change?
GTKY: What was your hardest time with nursing and what do you wish you could go back and tell yourself? My most difficult time was definitely in the first 2 months. My lack of knowledge left me with over supply, multiple clogged ducts and mastitis. I wish I would have seen an LC in the first couple weeks. It all worked out in the end though and my little lady and I are still going strong!
