There's some wood paneling on the walls in the back half, but the floor is concrete. Frankly I'm not even mad about the paneling, just mess we have to deal with.
Fair enough is your H feeling better today?
He seems ok. Truthfully, he seemed fine when I got home yesterday. I'm wondering if he just didn't want to be solo last night and made up the stomach issues....

Ugh. I don't know how people do this. I'm glad we only have 2 years before Bub goes to K. But I expect that we will be completely broke at the end of the two years, because there's no way we have another tuition payment in our monthly budget. We're just going to have to drain what's left of our savings.
But H wants to have a housewarming party, so obv decorating the entryway is top priority right now. LOL
It's time to remind your mil about how much she wanted a second grand... Any promotions coming up?
No kidding. A while ago, my MIL was being obnoxious pressuring us to have a second baby, and I told her we can't because DC is so expensive and she was immediately like "I will pay for daycare." So TBH, if it gets too tough I know they'll help us out. Like we'll get an extra generous Christmas gift or something. But I'm not going to say anything, because I don't want her to think she can "buy" another grandbaby after this one. LOL
And yeah, H's annual review should be happening soon and he'll probably get a bit of a raise, and I'll get a pay raise at the beginning of next year. So we'll manage, it just sucks.
Our HR lady just emailed me because she didn't know I was pregnant until I saw her at mass this morning. The subject of the email was "Paternity leave & FMLA." Is that like official language for HR people, or is she confused about whether I'm male or female? LOL

mrscatfarmer13 when I was 11, our house flooded. Like seriously flooded. You could not access the house from outside because it was under water and the entire basement was under water up to a foot on the first floor. When the water receded, there was a lot of stinky mud left with the water. It worked best to take a garden hose, hook it to the basement sink, and rinse the flooring into the drains as the water was going down- basically don't let the mud dry- get it out while it's wet. It took a year for the smell to leave. It was awful. And I'm sorry.
mrscatfarmer13 , I have 2 dehumidifiers you're welcome to borrow. We only need them in the summer bc apparently the humidity causes the bamboo floors to expand and buckle. Lindsay borrowed them a few months ago when her basement flooded, and you are more than welcome to have them for a few weeks as well. I think it would help with the smell and prevent mold once you get the water out.
JoBub , I've accepted the fact that DC for #2 is not in the monthly budget fully. I refuse to suffer lol so we just use our bonus money to put a lump sum down at the beginning of each year, the Daycare account and pull a bit from savings to make it work. Could I cut some other stuff to help soften the blow yes but let's be real I'm not going to .... I'm just thankful we have financial options to make it work.
What did you get for the entry foyer? I'm in nesting mood, my BF is a designer so I have her working on A's room, the office and dinning room so the next time you guys come over it will be fancy lol
I got a new rug, because I only have small rag rugs, and none of them fit the space well. We have a console table there already, but I got a few things to hang on the wall above it that you see immediately when you walk in. Then I'll probably put a decorative vase and photo frames I already have on the table.
Then I also got throw pillows for the front living room bc the ones that came with the couch are hideous. And a decorative thing to hang in the 1st floor bathroom because the wall over the toilet just seemed so bare, and there's a nail from where the previous owners had something hanging there so I felt like I needed something. It seems so impersonal to just order decorative stuff from wayfair. But I just need something on the walls in this house, and sorting through family photos to print and frame just seemed like more work than I'm up for right now.
Nothing super exciting. A pasta portioner, and a corn butterer. And a dish that you pack an ice pack underneath to keep things cold outside like a fruit or veggie tray. One of my friends had one when we went to Coney Island last summer and she packed sliced fruit in it and she said she uses it all the time. I always pack snacks when we go to the zoo and stuff in the summer, so it seemed like something I'd get a lot of use out of.

Maybe she doesn't know the difference?
Sounds like she doesn't know the difference, I give her kuddos for being pro-active I don't acknowledge preggos unless they say something to me
Yeah it's legit. I put the flanges and bottles in a Tupperware container and then put all of it in the dishwasher at the end of the day. But apparently you could reuse your parts all week if you just keep them in the fridge- then dishwash on Fridays. They should make a lazy Bf manual. It can be so easy breezy. But only if you know the "rules."
Yeah, I was like twice a week washing here. Nothing wrong with it. I'm just saving you time 😊

Ugh sorry mrscatfarmer13 when our basement flooded the big thing was to get the water out as fast as possible. Run fans and dehumidifiers longer than you think you need to. Buy some mold killer and spray it on areas that got wet (don't use bleach, apparently that can make mold worse).

That's exactly what we are doing. Hopefully the smell won't be too bad since we're cleaning it up. There's just so much shit (read H's shit that he has piled up and "organized") down there, it's exhausting. I'm resisting the urge to just start throwing his car stuff away because it will just escalate tensions.

It's a highly stressful time. If you want M to come play for a while tonight- or any night- I'm happy to have him.

Two kids in daycare is not really in our budget but you just make it work. It's such a short time in the grand scheme of things. I used to get so excited when we get "extra" money. Like tax returns, three pay checks in a month (since we get paid bi-weekly), or submitting FSA. Now, it just gets absorbed into the family monthly operating expenses.
Finally checking in. I went to work for a half day today. A local customer was supposed to visit the office but cancelled bc of the weather. Since my mil was coming anyway to watch the baby, I just went in. It was a good trial run for prepping everything and pumping at work. But I'm exhausted although the break was nice for a change.
Need some voting here. Sitter was very concerned at pickup that the big called his brother "nasty". She talked to him about not saying that word. I'm sure he's heard it from me in the context of "this diaper is nasty" or something like that. While I agree he should not call his brother nasty, I'm a little whatever about using the word in general. I didn't get full details, but the little had lunch stains all over his shirt so I'm almost wondering if that prompted the comment. Am I crazy? What's the consensus on nasty? 😂

bazingaa I feel like your sitter is making a mountain out of a molehill. Obviously he shouldn't call his brother nasty, but that's something he will learn with correction.

Ditto!! He just doesn't fully know what he is saying I don't think it's a bd.

I agree. I'd appreciate that she addressed the name-calling, but the word nasty would not concern me.
Ok, that makes me feel better. I was thinking I was going to have to censor myself with it. There are lots of things I don't want him calling his brother, but they aren't all words I wouldn't want him using.
In other news.... he called me "you funky mommy" tonight. No clue where that word came from, but dear lord it sounds exactly like "you fucking mommy". I nearly had a heart attack until I had him keep repeating himself. 😊
