Super tired. Damn emergency alert kept going off last night. I'm sleeping, I'm not worried about flash floods! Oh, and DS1 was in bed with me. That was a few more wake ups. 😴
Another tired over here. I ended up oversleeping because I don't think we slept much at all until around 4am. Dogs were up on and off, Z was up, alarms were going off. Total craziness.
Our house faces west, and our bedroom is in the front of the house, so the wind and rain on the windows was so loud. It woke me up, and then just as I was about to fall asleep the weather alarm went off. I kept expecting Bub to wake up, but then again, he once slept through a fire alarm at school.
Left for work at the normal time, and got here like 2 minutes late. Which wouldn't be a big deal at all because I don't have a first block class, except the whole school was in tornado stations. (Everyone on the first floor, seated against lockers lining the hallways) So I had to walk in past LITERALLY EVERYONE and find my homeroom, who was lined up perfectly and alphabetically, thank god, because they're freshmen and we've only practiced this one time.
But I'm apparently not the only teacher this happened to, which is the only reason I'm not completely dying of embarrassment right now.
All the coffee for you ladies. My weather alert went off a bunch last night but I fell right back to sleep. The strong rain and huge hail woke me up when it was time to get up anyway. I hope no one has any damage or flooding! Stay safe.

FML leaving today on flight. It was delayed then got an alert while in route that they moved it up.... this should be fun. Hopefully tsa doesn't screw me. 10 minutes to make it. Need to pee and get food .... ekk. Good luck today ladies
I got flash flood warnings motn and thunder woke me up. But then at 7 there was tornado warning and we had no idea and were just getting ready while it was hailing. I drive the kids at 7:15 so luckily it was fine then. But the kids at daycare were in a safe thing right before I got there.
We had mass this morning. It was creepy bc every time we would stop singing and the room would fall quiet for a second, we could hear the storm outside. I just wish we had gotten around to putting the grass seed down last weekend...
I feel bad, because last week I was telling H that we really need to reign in our spending, since we've gone a little over-board lately with stuff for the house... and then last night I bought Pampered Chef and also ordered a bunch of stuff from Wayfair to decorate the front entryway.
And now I'm starting to think about the nursery...

Save it all up for two in daycare. 🤑
Ugh. I don't know how people do this. I'm glad we only have 2 years before Bub goes to K. But I expect that we will be completely broke at the end of the two years, because there's no way we have another tuition payment in our monthly budget. We're just going to have to drain what's left of our savings.
But H wants to have a housewarming party, so obv decorating the entryway is top priority right now. LOL

It's time to remind your mil about how much she wanted a second grand... Any promotions coming up?

I have the weather alarms turned off on the phones because I dnw that crap waking me up, period. I was awake anyway just thinking, the tornado sirens can barely be heard on a clear day, no way I will hear them if they go off during the storm. I like storms at night because it reminds me of rainy season in FLA, and it's the best for sleeping. DS didn't make a peep all night. DH's stores had power outages, so the alarm company was calling him all night. Fun times over here.
bazingaa you shouldn't have told me you put your pump parts in the fridge for days before washing. Now I'm being even lazier and doing that and taking them home every other day. So lazy.

I mean, the milk is good for 6 days in the fridge, right? I see nothing wrong here

I was up from about 240-4.., not really from the storms... I just woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. Of course it was the first night DD has slept through since we moved. Oh well... I don't feel too tired today, so I'm not complaining.

Yeah it's legit. I put the flanges and bottles in a Tupperware container and then put all of it in the dishwasher at the end of the day. But apparently you could reuse your parts all week if you just keep them in the fridge- then dishwash on Fridays. They should make a lazy Bf manual. It can be so easy breezy. But only if you know the "rules."

Hey, crazy morning. Our basement flooded overnight and our sump pump couldn't keep up. It was running non-stop until 530. Now that we haven't had power for 6hours are basement is flooded because there's no power to run the sump pump. So we have water as deep as 3 inches in some parts o the basement. Definitely buying a backup battery when this shit is cleaned up.

This is genius!! Especially since my insurance paid for a week supply of the medela pump bottles so I have a tone. Keep the pro tips coming lol.

OMG!!! No that's horrible. Is your basement finished?
Texting H right now to confirm our second pump is on back-up battery knowing him its not.

JoBub, I've accepted the fact that DC for #2 is not in the monthly budget fully. I refuse to suffer lol so we just use our bonus money to put a lump sum down at the beginning of each year, the Daycare account and pull a bit from savings to make it work. Could I cut some other stuff to help soften the blow yes but let's be real I'm not going to .... I'm just thankful we have financial options to make it work.
What did you get for the entry foyer? I'm in nesting mood, my BF is a designer so I have her working on A's room, the office and dinning room so the next time you guys come over it will be fancy lol

There's some wood paneling on the walls in the back half, but the floor is concrete. Frankly I'm not even mad about the paneling, just mess we have to deal with.

mrscatfarmer13 - My friend lives right on the Miami River. Just this morning alone the water had gone up about six feet. By 11:30AM, their basement was flooded (there's quite a bit of land between the river and the house, but it rose super fast). That house is like over 100 yrs old, and it hasn't been totally modernized, so her boyfriend ran out to get pumps to get the water out. It's a mess.
