Oh becole we tried cup feeding last night and she loved it! I'm going to show them how to do it at daycare and then cross everything. She's back to refusing.

I'm glad something is working but I'm sorry it's not easy. It's just never easy...

Thanks. Luckily if I feed her at lunch she's only going four-5 hour stretches without eating so it's not really the end of the world. I think it's just increasing or night time wake ups.
I thought I would be clever and look up 3 girls and a guy for a possible blog title. Yep, can't do that. All that comes up is XXX stuff on google. I do not want people seeing that under my blog when they search.
I have an appt this morning and then am going to go on a playdate. At some point I'll get groceries. We were at the store yesterday and I forgot tea and garbage bags because it was just a quick trip so I didn't make a list. We are out of both of those things completely now.

It for sure is. Since your girl is sitting up now, I wouldn't hesitate to try solids/ oatmeal and maybe even work on a sippy cup. If you can just get her to drink herself, you can put Bm in a cup for her.

We did try cereal and they gave her a few bites yesterday, and she tried some green beans last night at dinner. (Those smell awful btw.) I think we're getting closer to not having to worry!
Plus I'm off summers so we just have to get through May.
fem - I hope the sleeping and eating gets better for you very soon. I agree with becole that you might want to start solids and try out a sippy cup. Hugs, mama! It will get better, but hopefully sooner than later.
DS has been sleeping so much better ever since we started feeding him 3 meals a day, mostly Gerber Step 2 foods, which are twice the amount of the Step 1 foods. I have no idea if it's coincidence or not, but I'll take it! So far for new "mixed" foods, he loves the Pear Cinnamon Oatmeal and Sweet Potatoes with Turkey and Whole Grains. I love introducing him to new ones to see how he reacts to them. The boy loves food. I can't wait to be able to give him puffs and start introducing him to finger foods. He is going to love it. He has grown so much just in the past few weeks. He basically has bypassed 6-9 month clothes. I bought him some when he was growing out of his 3-6 month separates and some of them are already too small on him, so now I'm buying 12 month sizes. I'm curious to see how tall he is at his 6 month appointment at the end of this month. We've already had to raise the height on the jumperoo and the exersaucer, just after a few weeks, and he could barely touch the floor when he first started using them. And we had to ditch the bucket seat this past weekend and install the convertible seats. He enjoys sitting in the shopping carts and getting carried around everywhere because he can see everything.
Yesterday afternoon and evening were a shit show. Everyone was in a mood. We have cabin fever so bad even though we get out for errands and activities every day. We just want to play outside!
Going to go get some new running shoes and probably head to the mall to walk around this morning. DD has preschool this afternoon.
hikingmama222 Ah... a mall walker. One of the things I enjoyed when I was working in the mall was watching the mall walkers while I got the store ready to open. If we lived closer to the mall I worked at I would definitely walk in a mall too.
jwinct my boy is like that-he wants to be up and able to see everything. Unfortunately, he's not as big as yours yet so it makes it hard. He will be so happy to be in a convertible car seat and be able to sit up in grocery carts and things. He hates hates hates his infant carrier. FOMO, man. fem I hope the feeding gets easier and thus the sleep.
Kids are at daycare. Light surgery schedule today, so no work for me. I think I'm going to make it through to the new job without working at my current one since I accepted. 😝 I've tried a few times, they just don't need me. Too much staff now. Which makes me glad I'm starting this new job-hours security and the ability to get out of the house. Boys both slept great. We had storms roll through all night so I was worried DS1 would be up, but he only heard the first one shortly after he went to bed. He calmed easily and then went down for the night. I have some deep cleaning projects I'd like to do today along with regular laundry. It's rainy and dreary-not great for motivation, but at least I'm not missing nice weather.
Whine: DS1's head cracked my lip last night at bedtime. I leaned down to kiss him at the same time he sat up. It bled and swelled up and this morning looks like it's turning into a cold sore. How or why that's even possible, I don't know, but it hurts and I've been slathering it in Abreva. Hopefully it's short lived I guess.
jwinct I know your little guy came a little early, right? When was he born?
ETA: And yay for good sleep!
He was born September 21 at 37w2d.
Oh so that's only a little older than mine (the 30th). I've been hesitant to give her too much food these times we've tried it but I guess I should go more by her cues. We stopped last night even though she was clearly interested in more green beans.

My whine for today - G has another cold. Ugh. Poor guy woke himself up at 3 coughing, so I went in to rock him. Then he slept until 7:30, which was too late to nurse him before I left for work. N also has a cold, but he slept until 5:45. MH also got home from work later than he usually does, so I didn't have time to stop at Dunkin on my way in. #fwp, I know.
It's foggy and warm today, and supposedly there are thunderstorms coming later today. I guess March is coming in like a lion this year.

Sitting up is a good indication that the gut is closed and can handle food. It's like a milestone that goes with swallowing and the closure of the gut.
Yesterday we had to hold the kids a while after dismissal because there was a funnel cloud spotted the next town over. We're in Iowa.
A Facebook friend I grew up with and lives 30 minutes from my hometown in Indiana posted today that her house was ruined and she was actually picked up, thrown a bit and then dropped by the tornado. She's okay but how scary.

fem, I am so sorry about the feeding troubles and the sleep deprivation. Hugs to you, and I hope the cup feeding works for O. iwantbacon, sending hugs and coffee. penguin129, yeah, probably not the best things to have come up in a search. jwinct, love it! G is also very curious and looking around at things. I just need his neck to get a little bit stronger, and we'll be there. He is always trying to sit up straight when I'm holding him on my lap. hikingmama222, I hear you on the cabin fever. I like to go to the outlets near me on a nice day to walk around, and used to walk the mall when I lived closer to one. britta, enjoy your day off! I hope your lip heals quickly.

Okay I'll quit stressing so much. Funny how I can feel like a first time Mom all over again.

Sorry for those of you still dealing with eating and sleeping struggles. Sleep deprivation is 100% one of the worst things ever.
I was beyond tired last night and crashed early. DH luckily took the baby overnight when she got up so that I could still rest, which I appreciated and needed. We do at least try to alternate but for whatever reason I was the one who got up Sunday and Monday night. Either way, I feel much more caught up today.
I woke up this morning to people singing the praises of DT's congressional speech last night. Barf.
fem sorry about the sleep deprivation and feeding issues lady! You are a rock star for keeping up with it all!
DS' appointment went awesome yesterday! We don't need to do the spinal tap! Instead, we have been referred to a neuro-ophthalmologist to look at his eyes. They think the buldging optic discs which indicate the presence of pressure is actually drusen, which from my understanding is just a build up of material behind the retina. If that's the case, then it is just his normal and we just keep an eye on them. So good news! Bad news is DS' fever is still knocking him down, and DD has a low grade one now too, but I think hers is teeth (99.7*). DS is congested, achey, has chills, and decreased appetite. He is drinking liquids fine, and the Tylenol is knocking the fever down. I'm debating when to call the pediatrician since we are on day 3 of it, but I'm sure she is just going to tell me it is viral. WWO16D?

fem, so sorry that you are dealing with two big issues all at once. Hoping you get some relief on the feeding front soon (well on both really). smallpotato, poor G. Hope it's a short cold. adouces06, yay for the good news about the tap! Hope DD doesn't catch anything.
DH is going out of state for two days for work, but at least not out of the country so it'll be easy to keep in contact with him not being in a remote desert or mountains somewhere. Not happy to be watching DS on my own again when he's still waking so frequently, but kinda grateful to just semi have the house to myself when DS is napping in the evening.
Question about nursing and breast size - can I expect my boobs to go back to a B from a D when I'm done nursing or should I just try to sell half of my tops at this point? I bought so many nice working tops in '15 and they're way too tight now. My mom's never went back down to her original size, but she went up to like an F from a C.
Little miss ate 38oz yesterday(!!!) and still woke up at 6am to eat. She went back to sleep until 930. Which of course means no playgroup again since by the time we got dressed and got there it would be about an hour til it's over. So not worth it. DS wants to go play next door at my ILs in a bit, but currently he's laying on the floor next to the baby.
I wish C could sit up, she's so nosy that it would be so much better for her to see everything. Also her spitting up would subside immensely.
