I drive over a 71 overpass on my way to daycare that's near that fields ertle exit....holy backup! I have never seen such a standstill there before. Looks awful.
I confess that yesterday I slept in until 7:45, didn't make it to sitting in my office to work until 9. My phone (aka alarm) was apparently low on battery and went dead in the middle of the night. I did wake up rather refreshed....

I have a few, I think I'll start on a lighter note: I just ate cold two day old pizza for breakfast.
I invited a friend to the fish fry we're going to tonight because it's right by her home. She agreed and then told me she was working until 530. Now I'm considering cancelling on her so I can go through the drivethru line early and eat at home. Basically, I'm being a shitty friend because I don't want to get there that late.

Well I would invite you to the fish fry with us but we won't get there until 5:30 either! It's almost impossible with daycare pickup and getting in the same car to go any earlier.
Also, shouldn't have told DS1 we were going to the fish fry after school because of course he thought we were going there at 7:30am and was crying with real tears "but I want to go to the French fry now!"

Getting there at 530 isn't too bad. By the time my friend gets home to take care of her dogs and get there it will be 615, then if there's a long line, it will be 7pm before we're eating. H is really looking forward to eating fish inside of a grilled cheese so idk what we're going to do.

Is this a thing? Fish inside of a grilled cheese?
There's a place in NKY that does it. I'm sure they can't be the only fish fry to come up with it, so there may be one closer to you. One of the news stations had a list of fish fry's and what they offer.
N pooped on the potty last night, finally!! I've never been more excited for someone else's bm before lol. Question, she's been in underwear all week at school and pull up at nap and nighttime, no accidents at school, 1 pee accident at home tho. So my question is we have gym tomorrow--should I leave her in underwear? We've not been out in public yet without a pull up and she's only gone on the little potty at home and school, they have a regular potty at gym. I'm so afraid she'll have an accident at gym. If I put her in a pull up is that going to be like regressing?

I'll pm you where we're going but I don't think it's where you're going.

vlagroupie I would send her in underwear and bring spare clothes tomorrow. If she has an accident, change and move on from it. Don't make a big deal of it and reassure her that these things happen. IME, having an accident helped M recognize when he needed to go without a prompt. I think it happened twice in public before he got the hang of things.

It may or may not make her regress. I would make her pee before the gym class so you know she won't have a pee accident. If she normally poops every day but hasn't pooped before gym, I might be tempted to use a pull up just in case. If she already pooped and pees right before, I would feel more confident in just doing underwear. I wouldn't want her to be embarrassed in gym class.

My thought is that I don't want her to be embarrassed at gym if she has an accident, like you said. I doubt she will poop bc she doesn't usually go in the morning. I guess I'll probably play it by year and she if she can pee right before we leave. Would it be weird to leave her in underwear and then put a pull up over? I know people will do that in case they do have an accident but they will still get wet and know it, but it won't get all over the place. I'm probably overthinking all of this.

That would be fine too. I'm all about letting them learn by accidents but some kids are sensitive to it and she's almost 3 and pretty aware so I wouldn't want her not to want to go to gymnastics after that if she had one. The underwear under a pull up would work too. Or if you want to do underwear, put her in leggings or shorts over her leotard.

I'd give it a shot with underwear. IME Evelyn has very few out in public accidents. It was actually annoying because she somehow always needed to pee when we were out. I can tell you where the public restroom is at any store.

So you like the gel aspect? Those are really just designed for hydration, not necessarily anti aging. The Garnier one is good since it has the vitamin a and c in it versus the other water based gel brands that are mainly just hyaluronic acid which is really just hydration based. You unfortunately have to get into the thicker cream to get more benefit based products. What you could do is get a serum and or night cream. Those typically don't have spf in them since they are for overnight use. Then you could continue with the lighter weight gel during the day.

Yes for some reason the gel is the only one that doesn't leave my forehead flaky and give me pimples. What serum do you like?

bazingaa she is still watching until June so they will probably come over for the next few months. She wanted to give us plenty of time to figure out where we want to go.

I can't say I've really found my one serum I love yet. Since you seem to have sensitivity to products, you may want to check out cerave. They have traditionally been know for basic moisturizers that are fragrance free / gentle but have expanded in recent years outside of basic moisturizer to more anti aging product. They have a serum I want to try. It's a good segway brand between the basic you are using now and the more hardcore anti aging stuff. You may not like / be ready for a lot of the more intense offerings of other brands.

It still makes me sad as I'm sure it does you. Good luck with the search. I guess it is good she gave you lots of notice. Are you initially leaning toward center or in home?

I use Cerave products and like them. Their overnight cream was too thick for me and left my face greasy the next morning. The basic cleanser and moisturizers are great though.

Probably a center. I think it will be good for O to be around more kids his age. E gets to go to school so I feel like she is learning how to make friends, etc. I love the flexibility of in-home and would love if I found someone like my current provider that takes the kids to do cool stuff, but it would be hard to find someone that I have that trust with. Part of me wants to do a nanny because it would just make mornings so much easier. H and I are going to think about what makes sense for us at this stage, but I know he would prefer center over nanny.

Yeah, a lot of overnight creams are a bit excessive. Serums should be more lightweight though and you only need a little bit. I became obsessed with a lot of cerave stuff through my pregnancies. 😊
