I am going to try a shared family calendar - online. We currently have a paper calendar in the kitchen and I loooove it (each box for a day has five rows - one for each of us).
Rec your online calendar - if there's a format that has the ability to show each person in their own row, that's ideally what I'm seeking.
I just use Google Calendar. I use a combo of different calendars/sharing and color coding:
Calendar 1: Family calendar that DH and I share. Individual events are color coded by people/type of event. You could color code each person. Calendar 2: Work calendar - all events are one color so those are obviously separate from family things Calendar 3: My personal/project calendar. These are all one color so I can see them separate from other things. It's usually notes like "Work on quilt" or something. I give myself more time to work on my hobbies when I schedule it, but don't want to clutter up the family calendar with it.
The beauty of multiple Google calendars is that on desktop, you can check or uncheck them to see them all at once, or just one at a time.

Google calendar is the best. I tried a different program for a while and it was a bust. Google calendar is free and very versatile, and I get notifications on my phone and watch from it.
+1 for Google calendar. DH and I each have an individual calendar associated with our email accounts. We share our calendars with each other so that we can each view each other's. So both DH's and my events show up when I look at my calendar, with different colors for each of us.
I am better about adding things to and checking the calendars than DH is. If an event is just FYI for him, I only put it on my calendar (but it is visible to him). If it's an event I need him to take specific action for (meet a certain place, come home early, pick the kids up, etc) I send a calendar invite to him. That way he also gets reminders.

^^WSS. And I also color code like a maniac. Google cal automatically colors DH and I's calendars differently. I add a color for events that are DS1 only, another for events that are DS2 only, and a third for events that are for the whole family/house. I can see at a glance if there are conflicts.
+1 for Google calendar. I use it for work all the time and then DH and I used it for our personal stuff briefly (but ultimately decided our little dry erase one on the fridge works better for us).
I liked that it would send notifications to phone (which I liked) or email (which he liked) and that we could both access it whenever. I linked mine with my work calendar too so I could see everything in one spot.

+ eleventy for Google calendars. We invite each other for stuff we both need to attend or be aware of. We can also see each other's work and personal calendars.
