Last night I moved R into the guest room in his bassinet in the pack n play. It will eventually be dd's room and we will put him in the nursery. I thought we would both sleep better, we did not. Looking at my app he slept 2 four hour stretches. It better than Wednesday night but not better than his normal sleep. Also the curtains in that room are supposed to be blackout but they are more like light blocking. Going to have to get some cardboard or something in the windows to block the morning light.

E was up at 8 and did not fall back asleep. No plans for today but tonight I am going to see my friend in a play. I really don't want to go I'm worried about how long the show will be and pumping.
After going to bed super early, C only slept til 230, it was a long wakeup and I was up til 4 (I think. I thought 5, but my app looks like 4), then up for the day at 730. It would've been a great night if I went to bed when she did but that didn't happen. I did have a glass of wine after I knew she was asleep so that was nice.
We are hosting a brunch at a restaurant tomorrow and expecting 83 people. It runs 4 hours and it will be my first time trying to work C around a schedule instead of around her. I expect a total shit show. The only saving grace is she's usually a great napper in the 11-3 window.

peaseblossom55 I hope you can enjoy the play without being too worried. Also that E gives you a nice nap today.
pibblemom is the brunch a family thing or a work thing? That sounds like a lot of work either way. Fingers crossed C cooperates!
carrots yay for a getaway, although all of you in the same room doesn't sound ideal. I have no idea how we will visit my ILs anymore now that there are 4 of us. Where are you putting your oldest, dd would still be in a pack n play but no way we could set 2 up in the room we stay in there.
Hmmm, those look great! I'll have to see if the will fit with the blinds already in there. Dd's window totally has cardboard taped in it. I was sleep deprived when I did it and never looked for another option. It's on the side of the house and faces the side yard which no one sees so it doesn't make us look too ghetto.

I'm able to still have blinds up, so hopefully it will work for you too. I've never really had luck with blackout curtains so these work so much better and are a cheap option.
Not much going on here, just laying low. We've had a great morning so far. Baby fell asleep in the rnp in the living room while DD1 and I did dishes and laundry together. She's been so helpful lately I can't wait till she's older and can give her chores unsupervised.

I love that picture lakegirl lol carrots, That sounds like such fun. Minus the tantrum. pibblemom, I hope the brunch goes well. I thought taking both boys down to breakfast would be easier because I assumed other family members would already be down there. Nope. I had to juggle W in one arm while trying to get breakfast for DS1 and I while also keeping DS1 from running around the room. No one else showed up for another thirty minutes.
I did get this picture of DS1 trying to nurse his "baby" while I nursed W lol

No plans. DH is about to leave for work. N was very sleepy, so I'm well rested for once. But she was starving when she did wake up so it's 10:10 and I haven't had coffee or breakfast. I did eat a lactation cookie.
I managed to get both of them out of the house by myself last night for an evening babywearing meet up. DS basically hasn't been out of the house in four weeks so it was good for him to run around with other kids and I got to talk to adults again

Could you try and pump at intermission?
Yea I'm going to use my manual pump at intermission I won't get any milk out of it because I never have but hopefully it will help. I need to get the outlet thing you mentioned for my car.
Okay @orangcrush and vlagroupie I think you've sold me! vlagroupie are you able to put them up and open the blinds to open the windows? The room is going to double as our guest room, somehow, so I'd like to be able to let our guest open the blinds.

They come with clips so you can fold them up accordion style, I usually do it halfway to open the window at the bottom.
Everyone just left, it was a busy day! I'm pretty sure I didn't hold dd at all except to feed her 😂. It was great catching up with everyone. Ds and Indiana are loving the snow, I'm sad we haven't really had any back home.

I kind of feel like this winter was another bust in the northeast. It wasn't as warm as last year, but still felt like it never actually got started. I'm one of the few that actually loves snow (for a little while).
meeggaannw I'm able to put the paper blinds behind the mini blinds we have installed right now. Like orangcrush said you can fold them up to let the light in.
So DD1 has still been using a paci at nap and bedtime, she'll be 3 in less than a month. I've been wanting to get rid of it for a while but have put it off bc of various reasons. Well I had bought her a book about giving up the paci. We've been reading it for like a week and talking about it. Well at nap time we read it and when she got in bed I asked her if she wanted to give it up, and she handed it to me! I thought this is great! Well nap was a disaster she cried about it for a while then played in her bed with her baby doll and didn't nap. Whatever no big deal. Well bedtime was so sad, she cried and cried about it. I didn't realize how heartbroken I would be for her. I thought she fell asleep ok, an hour later now and she's crying again, I just feel so sad for her. We told her we would go to build a bear and she could say goodbye to her paci and get a bear. I hope it works, poor kid.
vlagroupie, I'm so sorry your DD is so upset about her paci. I have no suggestions but I wish you the best for a quick transition.
heybulldog56, awesome! Wtg! 😂 I would totally do something similar.
We are in the middle of a 3 hr disaster of a bed time. C almost always has a late afternoon nap, and I'm realizing that if it's too late it makes bedtime a nightmare. I woke her up at 7, fed her, bathed her and have been working at getting her to sleep so i can take a shower since 830. It's almost 1130.

It's times like tonight I wish I had my own car on family trips. I would've been back at the hotel and asleep over an hour ago. I feel so dead. And while I know I could've just not given W to people whenever they wanted him (I'm looking at you FIL), he was supposed to be my security blanket in a room full of people I didn't know or didn't know what to say to. Sigh. DS1 didn't even want to dance with me tonight and was too busy running around to come see me often. I felt abandoned by my own kids.
I also had a glowstick leak all over my hand so there's that. It's all fun and games until you have to be careful which hand touches your face.
pibblemom hope your DD ends up getting a long stretch after that. thelittleredm sorry for the rough night, the glow stick sounds awful, how does that even happen?? I'd be pissed.

N fell asleep an hour earlier than usual. Should have gone to bed instead of finishing Planet Earth 2. It was on the DVR anyway. Now we're up an hour earlier than usual. Which means second wakeup will be right when DS gets up and she rarely goes back to bed if that happens
vlagroupie I'm dreading the day we take away the binkie. DD (22 months) used it just for naps and bedtime until the baby came home then she wanted it all the time and we let her have it. Now we've been trying to do it just for crib time and it's not been going well. Hopefully the build a bear works!
